Malco Cinema Twelve

We got tickets to the movie we wanted to see. The bathrooms are filthy as well as the theatre. Concessions are a joke. They advertise cappuccino and coffee, but don’t have it. No large cups for drinks and out of several types of candies. We waited outside of the theater while they cleaned, but the carpets are covered in popcorn and drinks are spilled on the floor. It’s disgusting.

This is the only theater in town so can’t go anywhere else to watch new movies when they come out. The matinée prices for adults and children are about the same; 50 cents difference. It is a theater so food and drinks are always expensive, but I don’t go there for the food.

I’ve been to many theaters coast to coast and I have to say that Malco’s popcorn is ridiculous! Not only is is pre-​popped and brought out in bags, but it’s not fresh and it looks like somebody has crushed it or broken it all up into tiny crumbs! I thought maybe it was just a bad popcorn night, but it has been like that every time! Over priced and horrible! One of the highest priced theaters I’ve ever been to. And the smell inside some of the theaters is moldy/​musty. We have also seen mice. Time for an exterminator.

Hallways leading to the auditoriums are too dark. Staff seems to have an air of self-​righteousness and a «How dare you ask a question» attitude. Not particularly clean. Overpriced, for the experience, but they are the only option in town and they know it. Avoid, if you can.

Went to see monsters university the other day. Had to pay full price of a small fountain drink which is $ 4.00 just for a fountain water. The theater is always dirty and smells like mold, popcorn and other snacks taste terrible and old! I absolutely hate going to this theater. They will treat you like crap and charge you an arm and a leg for it. Don’t waste your time or money!

This place is a scam. It’s nearly $ 10 bucks for a movie! Also, it’s the only place to see a movie in Owensboro. You’d think with it being the only theater and the cost for tickets they would do some serious updating and or renovations.

This has to be the most disappointing movie experience I’ve had in a long time!!! I completely agree with the first reviewer.
My husband and I decided to take in a matinée because we have such a difficult time paying full-​blown movie prices. What a joke!!! Their «matinée» price is as much as a ticket at all of the theaters I went to back home on the west coast! What?!! Really?! $ 7 for a matinée… not to mention the filthy theater and disgusting bathrooms. To top it all off, I had to go ask the management to turn off the dimmer lights which they normally only keep on during the previews; however they chose not to do so.
Last time I’ll be spending a fortune at this place! Perhaps if their customer service and cleanliness improved they would attract more customers and be able to lower their prices to normal instead of raping the idiots that still waste their money here. I’d rather go to Evansville!

Older style movie theater and dumpy; truck stops have cleaner bathrooms. Only choice in Owensboro. If the movies we like $ 7 here it might be worth it but $ 9.25 is too much for this dump. I wish a new theater would open.
