The owners of BBQ opened 22 years ago and are obviously doing something right. The yummy food, the reasonable prices, and the friendly service are a winning combination. Check it out.

Big Cove BBQ was really good. We were headed to Monte Sano for a picnic and decided to get our lunch there. We met the owners. Two of the nicest people you will meet. We ordered a pound of BBQ a slab of ribs, some coleslaw, buns, and some chips. The prices are reasonable and the food is very good. The BBQ was moist and tender. We had two of their sauces the hot and regular. They were both very good. The ribs were great. Very tender and moist. There were a lot of regulars there. That the owners knew. That always tells you good things about a place.

I stopped into this somewhat off the beaten path gem last week for the first time, and I have to say that I am upset that this was my first time to dine here but will not be my last. I had the small Bama style(with coleslaw) pork sandwich and potato salad. This was one of the best BBQ sandies I’ve ever had in my life. Pork had just enough smoke and was juicy and hot. By the way, there is nothing small in portion size to this mouth watering extravaganza. With that being said, I will have to have a huge appetite to handle the regular version. The young lady who served us was very hospitable and seemed to be happy to be apart of a great brand, which is huge to me and makes my dining experience that much better anywhere I go. And, it’s always a bonus to read an article on the wall that states Elvis was a fan! Good job Big Cove, whoop whoop.

Service was good pork never came within 10′ of a smoker. Taste like my crockpot pulled pork.

This is the best BBQ pulled pork I’ve had anywhere in the USA. Period. It’s smoky, tender, juicy and melt-in-your-mouth good. I really like their sauce, but not because it’s the best sauce ever, but more because it reminds me of a sauce I had growing up in Maryland. Big Cove is my first stop when I fly in, and the last stop when I fly out. The family that runs it are incredible nice and sweet. But not as nice and sweet as their perfectly balanced Sweet Tea. I don’t really like any of their sides, but I come here for meat on a bone or meat on a bun.

Meh. I’ve experienced better. I just went b/c it’s the only BBQ place on this side of the mountain. Kinda funny tasting.

The vinegar slaw was too sweet. They used bread and butter pickles instead of dills??? The fries were mushy and kinda fishy tasting :( I used to eat here many many years ago when I was in high school, it was very good then. The portion was good for the price, but we won’t be back.

Already been back — food and service was just as nice. Will probably be returning again.
