Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que

Came here for my son’s 7^th birthday lunch and they were super friendly even when my daughter spilled an entire milk in an inconvenient corner. The large free sundae was enjoyed by all 3 of my chilren. The meals were all large filling portions. The pork was tender and the sides were fresh! I recommend and will return as I have in the past!

Decent food, service was slow for a weekday night. Not as good as I wanted it to be for the price. Got the bbq chicken.

This is a nice Famous Daves. Ate here with a large group for a birthday, very friendly staff. Got the 2 meat combo with brisket (very good) and pork. The sides could have been better, tried the Mac and cheese and fries. The corn muffins are always good at any Famous Daves I’ve been too. They also gave the group free birthday ice cream too. We stayed by here and was the best option for food in the area

After scrolling down through some of the other reviews, for this particular Famous Dave’s, it was hard to get an idea whether to eat here or not. It turned out I guess we got here on a good day when the service was very good and the food was great. There were three people in our group and were seated immediately with drink order taken while we looked over the menu. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Order included ribs, brisket, salads, chili and were happy with the results. The corn muffins were very good? We have eaten at other Famous Dave’s and haven’t had as pleasant experience (Wisconsin Dells-​which is another story). So we were glad and happy to have a good experience here.

The service here is terrible. Never expect a drink refill. The food was OK; I had the burnt ends and ribs plate. The ribs were flavorful with plenty of meat. The burnt ends were not Southern burnt ends, despite being advertised as such. They lacked crunch and weren’t from the outside of a properly smoked Boston butt, as they should be. The fries are terrible. Don’t order those, unless you like soggy fries.

Stopped in for lunch on our way to a fishing trip. I’ve eaten at many other Famous Dave’s and not sure if the menu changed but it seemed like fewer options? Had to special order the burnt ends as a meal but they were good. Service was good a they were very helpful!

Reasonable prices, bartender attentive and quiet surroundings. Wide selection on the menu of house made menu items.

I tried to give them another chance. Last time I was there the service was pretty poor, but the food was good. This time the service was atrocious. I came in, was seated and sat for 15 minutes waiting for a server. I flagged one down and she said she was not assigned to my table but she would find my server. I then observed her and the greeter discussing how the other server didn’t want to come to my side of the restaurant. I waited several minutes longer while no one came to serve me or talk to me about getting food, or even a glass of water. I ended up working out and eating somewhere else. I will not be back.
Only reason for two stars was the barbecue smell

They recently changed their menu and it is improved. The rib ends are great. The brisket is very good too. I love that they have six different kinds of barbecue sauce to choose from. Pulled pork and cornbread are good defaults.

Service wasn’t amazing, I’ll say that off the bat. She was going through the motions.
The food was yummy. Its never going to be the best bbq in the world but it is pretty darn tasty for being a chain. Portions are good, prices are fair and the décor is cute. We’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

Good tender brisket and pork was good also. There new pineapple sauce is great. Waitress was kind of slow but another one was all over asking if we needed anything.

Famous Dave’s BBQ is a national chain, but orifinally from Minnesota, and I was in Minnesota for work and had a hankering for some BBQ so I stopped in.
This location was a typical Famous Dave’s building design, nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered my go to dish there the 2-​meat combo (catfish fingers and Brisket) with chili, wedge fries, and a corn muffin and a sweet tea.
First thing I noticed when i recieved my food was my muffin was hard as a rock, i asked for another but again was similarily hard. It was after 8pm so I assume they weren’t making any more fresh for the rest of the night.
But on the bright side when I started in on the Brisket, I was pleasantly suprised. I have eaten at alot of different Famous Dave’s in several different states, and this Brisket was the absolute BEST I have ever had at any Famous Dave’s. It wasn’t as tough as normal, it was falling apart, and the flavors were magnificaent. I asked the waitress to speak to the manager, and she thought something was wrong, but I just wanted to express my delight in the Brisket.
Overall it was your typical Famous Dave’s experience, but the Brisket made it all worth while.

Meh, average BBQ. Not a big fan anymore of the preset menu for BBQ joints. Also, their sauces seem to be a bigger hit than their actual BBQ. Their brisket was actually moist, but didn’t taste like brisket. Their rib tips were a little tough, but had some decent flavor. But… where’s the smoke aroma/​flavor?

Average Famous Dave’s. Decent BBQ, but nothing to write home about.

For the upper Midwest, Dave’s is what all other BBQ is compared to as it is the just about everywhere. Good food, good happy hour, good service. Very busy on weekends with long wait times.
