2 stars because the food was pretty good and they have gluten-​free bread. Panera is better, but they don’t offer GF breads. The guy at the register was quite rude. My husband leaned up against the counter and it was covered in soda. When I told my hubby, he wiped it off his arm and the guy just looked at us and pretty much rolled his eyes. Like it was our fault there was soda all over HIS counter… where he puts people’s drinks. Quite rude. Then the girl that brought our food acted like it was such an inconvenience. There was one young girl who refilled our drinks and was bussing tables that was nice. I will probably only return if I have a strong craving for a sandwich since I can get GF bread.

I love mcalisters. This one has always been clean and friendly when I visit. their chili is really good and their sandwiches are delicious.

Food is good, however if you place an order to go make sure you check before leaving. Ordered the Ultimate nachos and got home to find out everything wasn’t in the bag. I was missing the chips, isn’t that a major part of nachos?

Food & service is very inconsistant. One out of five times it’s good and one out of five it’s lousy. Took a friend from out of town there for lunch week. I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

I got a ½ chicken spud and tomato Cookie just the right amount of chewy and crispy. Soup excellent. Potato — not a lot of chicken but very filling and flavorful.
No table service, but also no tipping allowed. The staff are all salaried. For the price, this is an outstanding restaurant.
UPDATE: I went back again, today. This time, I had the Pick Two: Southwest salad and the tomato bisque soup. For dessert, I had the carrot cake, which is to die for! This cake had everything you could want in carrot cake — plenty of crunchy carrots and coconut and creamy icing that has just the perfect sweetness!

First of all read my review of March 3, 2014. I came here again only because my daughter wanted to eat here. The service and cleanliness has improved greatly since my last visit. I guess I will probably come back again. I’m giving McAlester’s a tentative 3 stars up from the previous 2-​star rating. I enjoy their food but service counts too.

I think this is a local eatery. If not, I was lied to!!!
Anyhow, the food here is good. Decent, cheap and tasty. It falls in line of half fresh and tasty and half processed deli food.
The portions are generous and the food here is worth trying.
The sandwiches have good flavor, although everything seemed a bit salty to me.
No worries though! You have the ginormous sweet tea drinks that you can have to wash all the salt down.
Everyone says this place is famous for the teas… it’s pretty good.
The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. Food is decent, so it’s definitely a good place to go when you want something besides a subway or quizzno’s.

I like eating here, i work close by and every now and again i get take out for dinner. They are priced a little high but i think the quality is good and i always have leftovers. The spuds are HUGE. Make sure you get the iced tea. Un like the other reviews i have never had more than a 10 – 15 minute wait on food even when they were busy.

Sandwiches are great, Service is very very slow. Out of the multiple times over the last few years I’ve ate there its taken over 30 min just to get a sandwich. I saw numerious customers upset because of long waits. WARNING don’t try this during your lunch hour !!!
