We choose Larry’s over any other fried chicken joint in the area. Good quality, good value, good selection. This is more home-style fried chicken. The only complaint that I have, is that they are not open on weekends. They take long vacations and holidays, but we do take advantage when possible.

How have I not been to Larry’s since the 80’s? I’ve been searching for a good, fast, chicken joint for a while(since Lee’s closed). Well, the search is over. Out of the blue one day, I remembered Larry’s. Their chicken is very good. The owner(Larry’s widow) is extremely nice and best of all they actually know how to make gizzards. The first time I went in was around 3pm on a Thursday. I ordered an 8 piece and gizzards. They were short a breast and the wait for more would be about 20 minutes. As opposed to waiting, I was offered strips in place of the breast. Also, they only had three legs left before more was ready, so she gave me the extra leg as well. Even though the chicken was the last of a batch it was still moist and delicious. The strips actually equaled more chicken than the breast they replaced and were also very good(not normally a strip fan). The gizzards were marvelous. On subsequent visits I’ve tried some sides. The coleslaw is really good. The mashed potatoes are standard fast food chicken fare. The gravey however is excellent. The rolls are just prepackaged dinner rolls. The only real flaw with Larry’s is the fact that they are not opened on the weekend. So I have to drive to Owasso at rush hour for my fix. But I will. As many times as my arteries will allow. Because, damn it I need Fried Chicken and Gizzards.

I love Larry’s. I grew up in Owasso, and this was the place to go for chicken. If you are wanting a «mom and pop» chicken place, come here. Love everything they have. My grandpa used to take me here as a kid and we would get their boneless chicken and mashed potatoes and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Love it!
