Another place of my childhood. It was right down the street from my grandparents’ house. It was pretty much the only place I think they bought gas. I remember when I was really small, too small to reach the counter, and my grandpa or grandma would let me get some candy when I went there. Sometimes I’d get a bunch of Sixlets or I’d stand on my tippy toes to reach the single pieces of Laffy Taffy and grab one of every flavor to take back to their house when I spent the night. The guy who used to own it was so nice, we’d see him all the time. I even remember my grandparents stopping in to tell him my aunt had a baby — like, I’m sure you’re not on that close with the guy down at the 7 – 11 if that tells you anything about how long my grandparents had been going here. Around the end of June, there’s an OK-FIREWORKS stand that they put up and we pretty much exclusively buy from that stand(because it’s close by) to get our stuff for the Fourth of July. Lots of good memories about this place.
