I had the vegetarian sandwich, which was amazing. However, it took 20 minutes. I wondered what took so long for a sandwich? I know it’s in Overton, and it’s a little slow paced out there, but still?

Spent $ 20 one of which was a tip, up front for two grilled cheese sandwiches a quesadilla. Ordered at same as another couple, but got mine 15 minutes after they’d eaten, ordered ice cream cones and gone outside to eat the cones. Grilled cheese were slapped together, skewed so ¼ of the bread weren’t even touching each other on both sides and the single slice of precut processed cheese(even Kraft would have been better) hadn’t been melted. Disgusting. The small amount of sandwich that contained cheese and actually had a top and bottom piece of bread tasted burned… burning taste was clearly not a result from my unmelted cheese order. The quesadilla was a double sided small tortilla with barely melted processed cheese, also tasting burned. Everything was delivered COLD. I gave two stars only because the staff was pleasant… but they also made no apologies for delayed delivery when there was obviously only one other couple and myself who had been helped in that time, and that pair had eaten and gone before I got my food. My dog ended up with the food and we went hungry.

The place is unexpectedly and reliably good. Stop in for a fresh sandwich or warm meal and excellent steak fries. A good place to stop if you are in town or driving through. Oh and as the name suggests, they have icecream too. Yum yum. Vegetarian options available.

I had the breaded chicken sandwich and the chicken was so good! It was fresh and hot and not greasy at all. Would definitely order again!

Don’t waste your time. Service is extremely slow. Kids behind counter to busy socializing to be bothered. Food is ok but not worth the frustration.

Great little place that serves way more than ice cream! Stopped in for a late breakfast and was pleasantly surprised that lunch was offered as well. Our waitress was kind and courteous, checking with the cook to see if English Muffins were available instead of just saying«no.» Prices were very reasonable and portions were adequate. Only con: We wanted water and it came out of a soda/drink machine and had a sulfuric essence.

I would love to give it 5 stars, but I can’t because of the breakfast. The breakfast menu is good and the food is a good big portion, but where it failed is on the flavor! It is really bland and even adding salt and pepper is an improvement. Big thumbs down on breakfast. It deserves 4 stars all for the lunch and ice cream menus! If you want a truly awesome sandwich I really suggest this place. They are huge(stacked) and the meat is really good as well. The BLT is also awesome because they are not shy with the bacon, thank GOD!!! The prices are not too bad, but the price they charge for extra ranch is wrong especially because you get so little. The ice cream there is really good, it’s not cold stone by any means, but for a small town ice cream shop it’s delicious. Get the banana split because it’s huge enough for 2 to share and satisfy that sweet tooth

We found this place after fishing at Echo Bay. We asked where to find food and we were told a couple places and one of them was the Inside Scoop. After a long morning of fishing… This place really hit the spot and we even got ice cream. Even though we are from out of town… The staff was supper nice and the food was delicious. The place was very clean and everyone seemed to know each other. Very nice everything we are definitely coming back next time we are out fishing.

We make it a point to stop in when ever we are in the area. Great food and a terrific old fashioned ice cream parlor feel. My grand kids absolutely love the place and so do I.

The peanut butter brownie was amazing and so were the curly fries. If you are driving through Overton this spot is well worth the stop

Went here for lunch the other day and was quite surprised at how good the food was. I had a great sandwich that was very reasonably priced. The menu was large and the employees were very friendly.

After a day in The Valley of Fire this joint is ESSENTIAL!!! It’s a normal hometown diner but since it is a bastion of salvation to hikers and bikers it deserves 5-Stars all the way!!!

I think this place is by far the best non-fast food locale in the area. For what it is, it hits the spot. Their menu is large enough to satisfy all but the most elite of palettes, and the prices are reasonable. Call me old fashioned, but the chicken fingers and fries with hot sauce is where it’s at! They even have a grill menu if you just can’t have enough hamburgers in your life. Finish it all off with a chocolate malt and call it a day!(which I’d highly recommend you do considering the calorie count in such a meal)
