The Ritz Salon & Spa

I just returned from my worst pedicure ever! I rarely get pedicures (they are too expensive) but I decided to splurge and get the deluxe pedicure. It was supposed to be a very long massage on my legs and feet along with a paraffin wax and painting of my toes. What I got was Luba Kapitannikov who talked on her phone the better part of 45 min of my hour and half long pedicure. What I got was my toe nails trimmed and poorly painted. I did get a quick paraffin wax but the entire experience was awful. I didn’t get the massage that I was promised (she didn’t provide a massage at all). She removed my polished, clipped my toe nails, did the paraffin wax and talked on her cell phone. I spent $ 60 for nothing. I got home and my husband even commented how poorly my toes looked… the nails were not painted and I had paint on my toes vs my toe nails. It was awful and I’m saddened that I spent so much money for nothing. I will never be back to the Ritz Salon and I won’t be recommending Luba to anyone.

Christine gives an amazing facial. She engages from the very beginning and is constantly tending to you. She doesn’t put stuff on your face and leave you to process. Her hands are continually working. I left feeling very relaxed and face felt great! Can’t wait to go back!

I frequented this salon for years until my stylist moved to another. Her switch of salons made me happy.
The last year before my hair stylist moved I found the salon receptionists didn’t care because they didn’t announce my arrival for my appointment to my stylist. More that once my stylist came around the corner saying… Oh you are here.
The sinks are very painful to my neck, and the water can be hot or cold without any understanding. What should be a relaxing part of hair care was torture. If I didn’t have confidence in my stylist this would have made me switch.
The owners tried to refresh the décor, but it looked like an unprofessional rehab job.

This salon has excellent customer service and are always Very nice. I speak with allot of business and the experience is not always pleasant or professional. From the moment you speak with them on the phone you are treated as a valued customer. The Location is beautiful and very relaxing. whenever I am in Kansas I will definitely stop by for a message or haircut from Tod.

Not impressed. Mentioned in another post, the massage room was right off the main salon area which was very lively & noisy. Caila was very nice, but a very inexperienced massage therapist. There was no major muscle groups targeted – it wasn’t a «pressure» issue (which was a little too light & gentle) it was a basic inability to «work» major muscle groups. Very superficial light rub on the skin. Sad to say won’t be returning.

I had a groupon for a massage and got scheduled with Caila. I tend to not say a word (or want to be spoken to) during a massage and she allowed me to do that. The music was very upbeat (Enya Sail Away for example) which was okay, but not really relaxing. The room is right outside the nail area and the walls must be very thin because I could hear every word, every laugh, everything from the people that were in the next room. It could’ve been the best massage in the world, but in the atmosphere, there was no way I was relaxing. Beforehand, I explained to her that my shoulder blades were in a lot of pain, but there wasn’t a lot of time focused on that area. I honestly would’ve rather had an hour of just my back massaged, because when she popped my ankle, it hasn’t been right since and she hit something in my right calf that has been on fire ever since. I don’t know how much of it was from me being tense from the craziness that sounded like it was going on outside or the actual massage. Caila was very nice, but in that atmosphere, I’ll go somewhere else.

I had 2 Groupon deals combined which gave me a $ 32 deal on my massage with Caila DeMint this afternoon! She was very sweet and excellent with the pressure that I asked for to relieve the tension I had all over. I really liked how she conversed with me over small talk to break the ice the first few minutes and then let the relaxing music take over the silence. Caila also gave me $ 10 of my next visit so I’ll be back for sure especially since the location is conveniently between work and home.

Go see James is all i can say! The best hair I’ve ever had done :)

Update — After reading the negative review I had to update mine. When a business changes to new owners the previous owners received the revenue from the gift cards. I have learned from experience gift cards should be used within 30 days of purchase. I received VISA gift cards and tried to use them 1 yr. later to find out they had been deducting service charges monthly.
This salon is beautiful, has everything. The owner James has been doing my highlights and cuts for a long time. Always perfect, especially when I listen to his suggestions :). James has a wealth of experience and is a master at cutting hair styles. Great service as always
