I love this place! The brussel sprouts are amazing, the pizza is fantastic, excellent atmosphere, friendly waitstaff. A new favorite.

Met a friend here for dinner not long ago. Place was pretty empty to my surprise, but better for us. The staff was attentive and friendly, I ended up ordering the brussell sprout appetizer, and prosciutto/arugula pizza(yes, I know I am probably hacking up the spelling so incredibly bad) — the brussells were amazing! Even re-heated(I pan sauteed to reheat) they were great. The pizza was so fresh, and the prosciutto delicious. Serving sizes were huge. Definitely going to be back. I love good Neapolitan pizza. This place has it.

The worst pizza I ever ate. Will never recommend anyone to go to this place. There was no vegitables on the vegi pizza. Its overpriced and tasteless.

Just so you know, I actually joined Unilocal so I could write this review and I NEVER write reviews… My boyfriend and I were super excited to try this place because we love pizza, but after sitting at our table for over 15 minutes and no one acknowledging our existence, we walked out. Of note-it was only about ¼ full and a Friday at 630pm. I don’t have any opinion on the food or even the drinks because no one asked/offered!

Great brick oven pizza! BUT(and I hate that there’s a but because I love their pizza and cheese plate) my husband and I used to go to this location every Friday and we’d bring a bottle of wine from home(they have a $ 10 corking fee). We are slowing down with this routine as service is very hit or miss here. We can’t be sure if it’s because the pizza takes so long to bake or if it’s the servers being overwhelmed, but if you go to Pizzabella and it is at ALL busy, you should be prepared to wait. One time, I think they actually forgot about us completely because pizza was coming out for all the tables around us and some couples had even tabbed out before we finally asked where our pizza was. The server finally told us our pizza was not cooked right and they had to remake it. Ok… so my husband and I enjoy talking over wine and really wouldn’t have minded the wait except the server kept walking past us without telling us anything. We probably sat there for 40 minutes or so waiting on our pizza and watching our server go to her other tables without so much as a glance in our direction. I finally flagged her down to ask about our food and then she finally went to the guys at the oven to get an update. It was very bizarre and we felt pretty stupid. They ended up giving us a coupon for a free pizza to use upon our next visit(we’ve been given this coupon 3 times, no exaggeration). I won’t go into the other questionable service scenarios, but basically one of the servers(he might be the manager?) knows us now when we walk in because of the issues we’ve had. I’m sure I sound like one of those annoying patrons, but honestly we are very patient people and don’t usually complain… we just haven’t had the best luck here. On a positive note, we finally went back to Pizzabella a few weeks ago and had great service. Of course, it was a slower night, but our server was fantastic(which leads me to believe the issues we’ve had in the past were with the wait staff and not the cooks). I do not recall the server’s name but he had very blonde hair and he was great!

This ship is sinking! The service had to be the worst we’ve experienced in a long time. We ordered a bottle of wine, which took 15 minutes to arrive. Tables seated after us received their food before we did. The food? We started with the Brussels Sprouts; as others have commented they are very satisfying. Our Blanca Verde pizza was good — not great. I thought they could have been more generous with the greens. The crust had some char, but we found it to be fairly bland. In the end, the food did not come close to making up for the crappy service. #dangerwillrobinson

My wife and I went here after completing a 5k. No better way of rewarding yourself than eating Pizza! I read about this place on MSN and it did not disappoint. We started with a Brussels Sprouts salad. It was really good. The almonds gave it terrific texture and the sprouts were well cooked. Just the right amount of oil and dressing added. We then had the Prosciutto pizza. The toppings were fresh and the sauce was wonderful and had bold flavors, unlike many other pizza places. But the best part was the crust. It is thicker than a thin crust, but lighter than regular crust. And it came out of the wood burning oven with that perfect crunch. They also had a nice wine selection, but we stayed with sparkling water this day.

Pizzabella is located at Mission Farms in Overland Park. They serve wood fired pizza. I have tried three kinds: mushroom; sausage; and prosciutto. Of those three none of them had incredibly developed flavors. They were all good pizzas, but not the best I’ve had. The Brussel sprout appetizer is amazing. They are seared; and served with pancetta, cranberries, and almonds. Pizzabella has happy hour with some good wine and beer specials from 3 — 6 pm on Monday through Friday.

I had a little trepidation about choosing this place for a group lunch after reading the reviews that mentioned how disappointing the service was. However, I and a couple of friends went yesterday and it was really good. The service was very fine. Our server(wish I’d gotten is name) was prompt, friendly, and perfectly attentive. Our food was great. One friend had the Restaurant Week menu with the salad and it looked fantastic; very fresh and crisp(the much lauded Brussels sprouts were on there which I wanted to try, but I wasn’t quite that hungry). We all had different pizzas and all three of us ate our whole pizzas(don’t judge), so that has to tell you something. I ordered the Potato pizza with Gorgonzola and had them add leeks to it. I loved it and would have it again.(My other friends had the Leek pizza w/pancetta, and the Margherita.) My only complaint(and it’s small) was that the pizzas did take a while to arrive, and it wasn’t very crowded. However, none of us were in a big hurry so no one really minded. Overall I really enjoined it, and given my current obsession with Neapolitan style pizza, I’ll be back to try a few different varieties.

I’ve always had this place on my list to try, but the recent poor reviews have kept me changing my mind at the last moment. Well, I’m glad we gave in on this cold November night as Pizza Bella hit the spot! The atmosphere has a clean and modern look. It was nice and cozy even though it didn’t have fire places. Unlike the other reviewers, we had good service. We ordered two cocktails(Old Fashioned and gin gimlet). The Old Fashioned was delicious. The gimlet was a bit too heavy on the lime. Both drinks were a bit stingy in my opinion for their price point, but they both used high end spirits. For food, we had the Brussels sprouts and the specialty pizza which was pesto, artichoke hearts, olives, peppers, and olives. Both were delicious. I especially loved the sprouts. The pizza sounded like a pizza I’ve had a million times before, but the flavors were fresh and it tasted much better than I expected. All in all, we were very satisfied. It’s a little bit spendy for a pizza joint, but they hit the mark of being an upscale pizzeria and we’ll definitely be back. One hope for the future… expanded menu with an addition of more inventive pies.

Surely I had reviewed this place, I thought. Wrong! Despite having eaten there a week after it first opened years ago, I never reviewed it, though a recent catch-up lunch with a friend gives me the opportunity to do so now. Pizzabella joined all its other KCMO cousins who came down from 39th street and other places to take advantage of what was happening in Mission Farms. We are happy they did — because good, clean design lines and simple, excellent food are appreciated anywhere.

Great food! Good atmosphere. Terrible service. Had Brussels sprouts and Chorizo and prosciutto pizza with friends, all of which were great! Atmosphere struck the right balance between relaxed yet refined. But the service was absolutely terrible. We were seated 10 – 12 minutes before the waiter came to our table. Finished first round of drinks before he came back Waters never re-filled, wife had to ask for a water refill TWICE Appetizers didin’t come out until the pizzas. Old(empty) beer and wine bottle not removed Plates not removed for 10 minutes after everyone was finished. We may give this place another chance but other places in Mission Farms offer and equal or better Friday night dining experience.

Horrible service!!! we went here for our lunch break, and let me tell you we waited forever! we had to literally ask for our water, ask about our pizza, ask for our iced tea. then had to get up to go find someone so we could pay our bill so we could finally leave it was terrible!!! no one showed urgency what so ever, one employee was on his phone in the corner. the food was pretty good. but i will most likely not be back. i didn’t even meet our waiter, the lady who was sitting people took my order on a piece of receipt paper! and the restaurant was not full! anyway the menu prices are really high for the food you get! the wait is SUPERLONG, so if you only have your hour lunch break then don’t consider trying!

I ate here for the first time last night(Friday night, around 6:30 or 7). We(myself, wife, one adult son) were seated right away(requested outside). Had a great night, and a delicious meal! Dominique waited on us and she was great! Informative, attentive, professional, warm, made us feel welcome & appreciated. They have a decent«specialty drinks» menu with several selections that are priced about right($ 8 to $ 11 or so). I had one of the specialty drinks(can’t remember the name — gin, mint, simple syrup, lime juice) and it was great, made to order. Spouse had a nice Malbec, son had a Freestate beer — both very good. For supper the three of us shared an order of the brussel sprouts(AMAZING!!!), though we asked to have them w/out the bacon, and that was absolutely fine. We also shared a salad which was fresh and perfect and perfectly sized as well. And we split two of their 10″ to 12″ pizzas. One was their potato pizza(excellent!) and the other was the roasted eggplant — also excellent. It was a great amount of food — good value for the money, and everything was delicious. We WILL be back!

I’ve been here, and checked in, and it looks familiar, and I’m sure it was decent, but I can’t remember a single thing about it so I’m giving it 3 stars because I’m sure it’s A-OK.

Very Hungry Husband and I were back in town for a spring visit and actually got the opportunity to eat at both Pizzabella locations in April. We had lunch at the Leawoid/OP location. As usual, the food was tremendous. For lunch with our companions we split a charcuterie plate, calamari salad and then a bianco verde pizza with pancetta added and a salami pizza with basil added. The charcuterie plate was wonderful as usual with a wonderful spicy grainy mustard and a fig jam for accompaniment. Very Hungry Husband is a fan of all things resembling ham, salami and sausage, thus he was literally in hog heaven. The calamari salad is one of my absolute favorites here. Strangely hearty and light at the same time because of the white beans. I have seen some reviews where it seems people have gotten the calamari salad on an off night perhaps, but ours was delicious; dressed perfectly — not too much — and with very tender, not overcooked calamari rings. Pizza was great as usual. Seriously try the Bianco Verde pizza and add pancetta or prosciutto — AMAZING. We had a lightly charred crust on one of the pizzas but Very Hungry Husband is a fan of a well done crust. Sometimes wood firing produces char. If you aren’t a fan of a little charring just let them know. I’ve done that in the past with no problem. We also split a tiramisu. Their tiramisu is amazing as well — made in house but creamier than traditional tiramisu. It did look like they may be training some new staff. Our server seemed new and a little unsure but he was also very courteous and checked in on us enough to make Very Hungry Husband feel loved — a must for us when dining out. We also went to Spin pizza again while back in town. The pizza there was good but it was horribly loud. I think it all comes down to taste. We prefer the farm to table ingredients and aspect to Pizzabella as well as the intimacy for dining out with friends over the other pizza joints in town. But each to his own!

Shanley’s review is basically what I would say too, so just read hers. :) We had absolutely wonderful service today. Luckily there were only about 4 tables occupied, so our waitress was able to take care of all of us, as well as do hostess duties. She was really nice and helpful and knowledgeable. We shared the mushroom pizza, and it was really delicious– especially the crust. It’s a bit pricey for what you get, however. And it’s true about the Brussels sprouts. I don’t even like Brussels sprouts, but these are incredible!!! I think they sprinkle some kind of magic fairy dust powder on them or something. Trust me– just try them! The salads are big enough to share too. We had the one with mixed greens, radishes, cranberries and nuts– it was amaaaaazing, especially the dressing. I wanted to lick my bowl! The dècor is lovely, if a bit dark. I like how they use lots of local products, and highlight them all on the menu. I’m looking forward to going back for dinner sometime.

Had a really good sausage pizza, and awesome Tiramisu for desert. Kids cheese pizza feed two little boys. We had the gelato too but it just wasn’t my thing. We’ll certainly be back. Will be adding to soon.

Brussel Sprouts are absolutely, completely, totally AMAZING!!! I could eat those for an appetizer, then meal, then dessert! Pizza was good. I like this thin crust but just expected more from the descriptions. We got it to go so possible would have been better to sit in and eat it?

Pizza is pretty okay, but the crust can be a lil burnt. Have had the Margherita and the chorizo. Don’t come here near closing @ 9pm. They will not seat you and they won’t be kind about it. When they first opened I tried to place an order for pick up… they wouldn’t accept my order and said they didn’t have many ovens so they reserved them for dine in customers only. You will get better service for lunch than you will dinner. I really wouldn’t make a special effort to come here. I can walk here, but would rather drive further for a more respectful experience.
