I was very disappointed in the experience I had Monday, 7 September at the Oak Park Mall Jos A Bank store. I researched the product on the Jos A Bank website, located the store, got my checkbook and headed out. There were two customer service personnel on duty and no one besides me in the store. The first person approached me and asked how she could help me today. I told her I was here to buy some suits and noticed on the web site that they had some very nice colors in their Traveler collection. She asked what my jacket size was and took me away from the traveler section to a half rack of last year’s models that was nowhere near what I was looking for. I turned to my wife and said that none of these jackets had any appeal to me and did not reflect an executive appearance. Sensing my unhappiness the second salesperson(a gentleman) approached and asked if he could help. I explained again what I had seen on the website and he promptly told me in a condescending tone that the traveler collection was a suit separate and not a suit. I told the gentleman it would be fine if we could find jackets and pants to match however, he promptly repeated that those were not suits and said«I thought you wanted a suit». I explained in different terms what I was looking for but he seemed hung up on the terminology of what a suit is and trying to educate me versus trying to fit me for a nice suit coat and pants to wear to work. Needless to say, I did not purchase anything from them and left to buy 4 suits from the JC Penney Stafford Executive line. All in all I was very disappointed in the customer service and hopefully one day I’ll be more acceptable of the«suit education» the gentleman was trying to give me.
