Wandering the area and came across this gem– best fried pickles I’ve ever tasted! Great hamburgers, good sized pizza and fresh ingredient BLT made for an excellent dinner on the patio watching the Royals. Staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. Overall, the epitome of what a neighborhood pub/​bar should be…

I struggled between giving Conroy’s 3 stars or 4 stars because my overall rating was sitting at a solid 3.5. But alas, I couldn’t overlook the dim lighting and sticky floors to bump it up to 4.
While the service was good, everything else was a bit lacking. I ordered the Fried Chicken, and while it’s better than some other places’ (*cough* Rye *cough*), it still didn’t quite stack up to some of the better fried chicken that I’ve had.
However, the chicken was moist and tender, but it was lacking much flavor beyond the batter of the chicken. I guess I’m not understanding why restaurants are not marinating their chicken. This is a KEY to a good, FLAVORFUL fried chicken, yet it is the most often skipped step. I’m guessing it’s because most places don’t know how often it’s going to be ordered, so they don’t want to waste marinated chicken, since they aren’t sure it will actually be ordered. Regardless, this is not a good enough excuse to not do it. All you have to do is keep a few servings in the marinade in the fridge and replace as necessary. Nothing difficult about that. /​endrant
They served mashed potatoes and broccoli on the side with the fried chicken. Nothing mind-​blowing, but it’ll do.
My boyfriend really loved his burger (Southwest), and it’s funny because we didn’t have high expectations when we walked in here. We just needed a restaurant nearby where we were going next, and Conroy’s seemed decent enough. I joked that it would end up being super delicious. Well, I wasn’t wrong apparently since my boyfriend was super impressed by the burger.
He would definitely come back, whereas I would be happy going somewhere else.

I enjoy daily specials, and Conroy’s delivered. Lunch specials were nicely priced and required a drink purchase. I tried the grilled chicken sandwich with chips. The chicken was moist, and delicious, with fresh toppings. The baked in-​house chips were thin, crispy, tasty, and not salty. The interior had TVs everywhere, with classic rock background music. The service was stellar (super friendly, attentive, and helpful). Very nice.

This is my favorite place to get lunch in the area! All the staff is super friendly and the service is quick. Their daily specials are always delicious and a great deal for $ 5 lunch.

Soon to be a regular stop for my family. Great food, prices, staff and atmosphere. Conroy’s is not going to transport you to the Temple Bar, nor are they attempting to. It’s Prairie Village. One of the best local places. Check it out!

Never been here before but brought my Grandparents for a dinner party. Turned out they had the wrong date but we decided to stay and eat anyways. Staff was super friendly and service was good. Food was amazing! The Naked Burger was so delicious and so was the fried Brie and Shepherds pie! Was very pleasantly surprised and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Average at best. $ 5 chicken sandwich is a good deal but just expect what you pay for. ONLY get grilled sandwich and not breaded. Bread came completely off my sandwich. Grill was much better. It’s another Irish bar with Average food and slightly over priced drinks. It gets packed on weekends due to local support. So very average do not expect greatness!

We usually don’t drive this far south for a restaurant, but I kept hearing about this place and decided to give it a go. The service was great. The girl who greeted us at the door was quick to get us a seat and grabbed us waters because our server was busy. Our server came over pretty quickly, too, though. We asked a few questions and she was helpful and patient. I ordered the diablo pasta but asked if I could have chicken instead of the shrimp. No problem. My bf had the fish and chips. My pasta was great. I LOVED it. I didn’t try the fish and chips, but I’m guessing he enjoyed them since they were gone pretty quickly. We are definitely interested in going back and maybe trying the breakfast next time. Although not the black and white pudding… that’s a bit too Irish for me, I guess.

This is not an Irish Pub!!! This is a local dive bar. 80’s rock playing on the speakers and and sports on the multiple tv’s. I am sure it is a local favorite. I try to seek out local places when I travel.
The only thing Irish here is the name and the Guinness on tap and Jameson in the glass. If you want pizza and burgers this is your place. They do have fish and chips and shepherds pie on the menu but that’s the only thing Irish on the menu.
Wait staff is friendly. Service was very slow. Ordered burgers since I couldn’t trust the authenticity of the shepherds pie. 30+ minutes later no burgers. This place wasn’t busy… Settled the beer tab and left. So I can’t tell you about the food quality. Avoid if you are looking for a pub!

Conroy’s is as close to a British or Irish Pub as it gets, at least in terms of its appearance. However, the food is more typically American. I just had lunch there and found the salmon to be very good. The service was really excellent. I also appreciated the easy parking in the lot in front of the restaurant.

Wanted to try a different grill than our norms. Our first visit was on a Sat evening at the tail end of happy hour. Our party of three got seated immediately even though they were pretty busy. Liam our friendly waiter did an excellent job — told us the drink & dinner specials gave us suggestions on what to order, & was very attentive. I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich with fries. Everything is made fresh & in house. I wish I got a few more fries. The tenderloin was a generous size (two meals out of it). I will ask for pickles to add to the onions, lettuce and garlic mayo. Other friends got hamburgers and they were thick & tasty (had a bite or two). Second visit — again another great server, Eva. Recommended some items & decided on the fish & chips. My two pieces were very meaty but pretty bland. I like to enjoy my fish with either lemon or malt vinegar & neither of these seem to help it. Ended up eating it with some tartar sauce. Had the homemade fries again. Tried a few bites of the husband’s Shepard pie & loved it! I have tried a few of these in my lifetime & never want to waste my money on them again. I can definitely understand why this is a favorite.

Great place to go. One of the best burgers in KC… Believe it or not. Friendly folks. Happy hour from 2 – 6. Fried pickles kick ass to. A+ to Conroys. Whatever you do… Avoid Ugly Joes.

I attended a holiday party here in the back room, which holds a decent number of people. Service was good, drinks were very affordable, and the food looked great, though I did not partake. Conroy’s is a neighborhood joint, with what appeared to be many regulars posted up at the bar, though there were quite a few patrons enjoying dinner as well. Our server was very friendly, and treated us like regulars, which I appreciate. I would definitely go back, and keep their large room in mind for future social gatherings.

Nice neighborhood pub. Fairly decent selection in terms of beers, drinks and food. However they are priced high. Too high for what you get unless it is on special.
Service is slow, especially at the bar or if seated on the patio in good weather. Don’t know about table service, although it seems that the bartenders give preferences to wait people for drinks delivered to tables. Sometimes there is only one bar person, and if there are two the second one spends more time in the kitchen rather than tending to guests. Slow!
Staff is friendly, and good piano music on Fridays. Closing hours are iffy since sometimes they close early so no dependable hours. Lose out on potential customers. Too bad, since they appear to want to be more of a restaurant rather than a good Irish pub which stays open until advertised. hours.

Went here last night for date night. I enjoyed the décor, it’s very pub like. It wasn’t super busy and it had a good atmosphere. We enjoyed the pretzel sticks for an appetizer. The cheese was delicious and it tasted like pepper jack. Very tasty. I got the chicken fried chicken and was impressed. It was tender and the gravy and mashed potatoes were seasoned well. I found several things on their menu I’d like to try.
My husband got the fish and chips and said they were nice and crispy. He enjoyed the fries as well and we went home happy. We will definitely be back, this might become our regular spot!

An excellent neighborhood bar and grill. The staff is really fun and attentive, food is good and the drinks are always cold and/​or well made.
Their specials are really good too. If you like happy hour this is your spot!

Anyone that gives this restaurant less than five stars, needs to pull their head out of their ass and re-​assess their expectations.
The service is always perfect. Their food has always been consistent and incredible. The fried chicken, hamburgers, the patty melt and the French dip. Always exceptional.

Always in for lunch. Great daily specials, good consistent food, great burger. Wonderful wait staff and great group of regulars! Not sure how they manage such a large menu.

How many updates can I do? Well, this place was happily under scrutiny by yours truly for the first several months because the odds of a new business staying open in this area probably weren’t very good, and I SO wanted Conroys to succeed! Two years later, they are doing just that!
I come here usually a couple of times a week, once with my bf and the other with friends/​work crew. We regularly have meetings and working dinners here, as the atmosphere is low key yet relaxed. Just recently, the menu was greatly improved with many new, delicious additions. My favorite bar food, the Philly, has been added and is sooo deliciously perfect with its finely chopped steak, cheesy sauce, mushrooms, peppers. They have also added a Hawaiian pizza and a Hawaiin burger with cream cheese, pineapple, and jalapenos. Those are some of my favorite foods in the world, by the way. Reuben pizza? Yum! Several new salad options are also on the new menu.
The management is stellar, and employee turnover is low.. . very low. That tells me people enjoy being here. They also know me and my associates by name and we always feel right at home. I hesitated in writing this update, as I want to keep Conroys my selfish secret, but they deserve the five-​star review. They have definitely earned it! A great neighborhood bar.
