I am a woman of ‘retirement age’, lol. For the last 6 years, my activity level became lower and lower plus I’ve never been someone who thought exercise was fun. After moving to the KC area this year AND finally losing some weight, I recognized that I needed to do something before I was unable to even get off the couch. A PT person I was seeing, recommended Justin/BioFit as with his training as a Physical Therapist & knowing him, she was confident in his approach. I can not say enough positive things about the BioFit team-they are all knowledgeable, positive and encouraging — though they obviously have slightly different approaches and backgrounds. My main trainer is Liz and she is the energizer bunny of positivity — she watches your technique closely to ensure that you are not at risk of hurting yourself and to see that you get the most out of every exercise. If you have any injury or problem area, she is cautious to do only what will benefit you. My college daughters worked w/Shawn when they were home from school. He developed a workout program for them to take back to school & made sure that they thoroughly understood how to do all exercises properly. He is younger trainer w/a quiet, assured and knowledgeable approach. Both Justin and Ryan have worked w/me at times if my main trainer is gone or for MAT therapy. MAT has helped me when I have had sore problem areas. When my husband hurt his back recently, Ryan did a phenomenal job in getting him loose enough to move without every step hurting in just the first session. Ryan has a quiet manner w/a great sense of humor and a very helpful approach to how much is appropriate to push ourselves — all in addition to his vast experience as a trainer and MAT specialist. Justin and Scott, are great too. Justin lights up the room with his positive and fun personality and yet takes what he does seriously. He also teaches new PT students — not the background you find in 95% of trainers! Scott is the one trainer I have not worked with, but I have watched him with clients and he is obviously an excellent, positive trainer w/extensive knowledge. It is interesting to see the wide variety of clients — the range of ages, physical condition and reasons for being there. For the first time in my life, I am much stronger and actually seeing muscle definition in different parts of my body. .. I may have old lady ‘baby guns’ but at my age and in only a few months of their guidance, I think that’s a pretty big miracle!

I’ve never worked out at a friendlier, more sincere place than BioFit. Everyone from the owners to the interns are there to help whenever you need it. All ages and fitness levels seem to enjoy being here and achieving whatever goals they have set. It is a place worth checking out if you need a gym, personal trainer, help with your nutrition or muscle activation therapy.

I used to work out all of them time at a big box gym. Then with a busy schedule and honestly feeling like every gym is a meat market I just stopped going. I tried to buy the dvds that looked fun on TV but just had no motivation to actually hit PLAY. 15 lbs later I knew that I needed to get back in the habit of working out. Problem, still no motivation. Enter Lize Cote. Liz taught me the proper way to work out so I was not hurting myself, gave me a diet plan to follow and the motivation that I needed and 13 lbs off in just 5 weeks. Liz is not a trainer that is going to scream at you like a drill sargent. She is going to coach you on form, repts, sets etc to get you the best results. If you want something more than what the bog box guys have to offer go see Liz.
