I ate here with my two kids(7&9). They ate chicken strips and fries, and thought they were just alright. We weren’t offered any dipping sauces their chicken strips. I ordered a farmers skillet. I thought it was delicious. The inside of the place seems out dated. It also feels like a place full of regulars. The staff wasn’t rude, but didn’t give off the welcoming vibe either.

First off, they’re open on Sunday, which must require some kind of permit in Ottawa. They were packed, but the service is fast and friendly. I had the tuna melt w/French onion soup. French onion soup– big chunks of onion, salad style seasoned croutons, no cheese. So, not the classic, but the broth is tasty and the serving is ample. Tuna melt– buttery toasted white bread, American cheese, more tuna than you can shake a net at. Also, not quite what I expected, but edible(with a knife and fork) and a PILE of fries. The fries are standard crinkle cut fare. Hubby had a cheese burger… he’s pretty sure the patty was frozen, but he rates his experience as «indifferent.» He wasn’t too pleased with his side salad(they were VERY generous with the ranch), but I thought it was pretty standard for the establishment(iceberg). So, in summary it gets 3 stars — my mind wasn’t blown, but the food wasn’t terrible and the service was really good.

Lots of food for the money. Pies looked good although by pie-time there was no room at the in(I know… it’s inn, but making a pun.) Boys got shrimp baskets and liked it. It was a lot of shrimp. I got the meatloaf special and it was a regrettable decision. Wouldn’t recommend that. Old school diner counter… that scores style points even of the food seemed hit or miss.
