BTW, this place is called Calio’s now, but it is the same exact restaurant as Zonies. Best place for greasy and delicious calzones whether you’re stone cold sober or blind stinking drunk. They have a diverse selection and allow you to Pound It for cheap(bigger calzone). Open incredibly late. My only gripe is the lack of fountain drinks, but bottled drinks are available.

Now that I am out of college, when people utter the word, Zonies or Calzones, I cringe a bit, thinking about all of the 3 am Zones deliveries I had throughout my four years at Oswego. Those white boxes out in the kitchen the next morning were a classic sign for, we drank too much last night. Zonies is NOT a place you go to when you’re sober, and you certainly do not go in to place and order for take out. You get delivery, you don’t talk about it, and you go about your night. So many zonies on the menu; Buffalo Chicken Zonie(which was always our go to) Cheeseburger Zonie(instant heart burn), Pepperoni Zonie, Hot Dog Zonie, Mac n Cheese Zonie, Chicken Pesto Zonie, Chicken Bacon Ranch Zonie, Build your Own. I mean you want it, they have it. Their bleu cheese is so freaking delicious, I think I have yet to find a bleu cheese in this world that compares to theres. Granted, these are my 3 am drunken memories of their bleu cheese so who really knows how good it is. All I know is they are CHEAP, allow you to pay with credit card over the phone and are MASSIVE. Always too big to finish. Beware, sometimes it will take FOREVER to be delivered, especially if you are ordering after 3. Make sure you give them the right phone number when you place your delivery order, because if they ring your doorbell and you don’t answer, they will call multiple times.(Accidentally gave them my house number on Long Island one time, Dad wasn’t too happy when he got a, «Your zonie is waiting outside your door» call at 4 am.

My 2nd visit in a week or so … Ham, broccoli & cheddar calzone coming right up! Once it arrived at my table it was devoured in no time flat. Nothing left but the smell.

Zonies(short for calzones) is one of those great late night snacks to order when you’re in Oswego, NY. It’s ridiculously cheap($ 6 – 7) for a pound of food. literally a pound! They have a long selection of different items available on their menu(30+). Typically, I order the Chicken Bacon(chicken, bacon, & mozzarella) with a side of ranch sauce and marinara. If you go to Oswego then I suggest getting a zonie after a night of bar hopping since they’re one of the few places that stays open late.

Zonies is under new ownership, and has really fixed the place up. The menu has a large selection, and all Zonies are only $ 6.50.

I know some people love this place, but I’ve never been a fan. Delivery is ridiculously slow(Two and a half hours to get to a house ten blocks away? Really?) and the food isn’t stellar. It’s cheap, there’s a lot of selection, and you get a lot(quantity-wise) for what you pay for, but there are better ways to spend your money — you can get a whole pizza at Enzo’s for about the same price as one Zonie, and that pizza tastes a whole lot better.
