Have bought the wines many times before for gifts and for my own use. Also have taken advantage of the Groupons whenever they are offered. The wine is fantastic and it’s a plus that they are local. Took the tour with a friend, also a Groupon. We learned so much about their process and about the botttling and corking process. Everyone is very helpful and the store is stocked with not only wine but all kinds of gift items. They will even design a gift basket to your specifications.

My husband, his daughter and her husband stopped for a wine tasting. For starters, it was nice to try 3 wines for free for a wine tasting. Wines were really not explained to us nor did they recommend any. We were kind of made to feel like we were not very welcome. After the tasting we each ordered a glass of our favorites and sat inside. When leaving the winery we found that there was an outdoor patio that they never told us about. All in all it was a decent winery.

Owners are down to earth good people — Definitely a family business with deep roots. I loved how some of the wines were named after family members. The tastings were delicious and really had their own unique flavors. I just wish the store had more items to shop through. :)

Love the wine of the month club! I’m on the ever-other-month plan getting dry wines. I’ve not been disappointed. The wine is typically good. I have my favorites for sure! The variety is incredible for such a small-town winery. They do free tastings every day. The wine makes great hostess gifts and I love how local everything is. They have their own vineyard nearby.

We had this great idea to do some wine tasting and left disappointed due to the rude service. We got nothing but a snide remark every time we had a question. We wish we could have reviewed the wine but never got the chance.

Right down the street from my parent’s house, I thought this would be a good trip. Though it’s in an odd-looking area, it’s a cute building that changed business hands for a while, until the winery moved in. The biggest problem, is the hours. 6pm? That’s so early! Not late enough to enjoy after dinner, and too early to likely make it before you’re home from work. All that aside, the wine is good, and the store is cute. Just not ideal timing!

I used a Groupon to get 5 dry wines from Fox Valley Winery. We showed up at the store to pick up our wines right as they opened. The store has a nice interior with seating here and there to sit down and enjoy your wine, and they also sell a number of wine-related products(glasses, charms, etc.). While we were there, we also did their wine tasting. They provide 3 complimentary tastings from a wide selection of wines, and you pay $ 5 more for any 3 additional tastings. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of wines available at reasonable prices. The staff members were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their products. We ended up buying 5 additional bottles after our tastings. There’s plenty of parking available, and this winery is close to downtown Oswego.

We went in to have a wine tasting. The first three are free and they give you a new wine glass for each tasting. The next three are only $ 5.00. We liked it so much we ended up purchasing a few bottles as well as some wine trinkets. The wine is extremely good. Not overly strong or overly fermented. Still has a wonderful grape taste which you don’t get from store bought wines. You can only get it from local winery’s. The grapes from this region are very good and tasty. I would recommend this winery. Give it a try, you be glad you did.

I’m not sure why the mixed reviews on here but I promised myself I wouldn’t let them get in my way or my opinion of this place. I bought a groupon for a winery tour/tasting and I wasn’t sure what to expect for the tour as it was raining most of the day yesterday. I called in advance and they let me know what the upcoming tours/tastings were for the upcoming weekends so I got in for a 3:00 yesterday. The vineyard is a few miles down the road from the actual location so the tour was indoors. I’ve been to MANY winery tours all over the place and if you’ve heard one… you’ve heard them all, right? Wrong. I learned so much more on this brief tour about bottling wine, boxing wine, corks, storage, etc. that other wineries don’t include. The tour was given by the wine maker who started wine making as a hobby… that, itself was pretty cool. We were given 5 tastings after the tour and I liked all of the wines I tried, my sister did too… They even had a number of sweet wines that us dry red wine drinkers stray away from which were pretty good too. Others at the tasting agreed. Again, this place had a number of great wines in all varieties to choose from, all very good and they had a number of them on sale. I walked out with a $ 4 bottle of Chardonnay so you really can’t go wrong here. If you live in the sw burbs, this place is a hop, skip, and a jump away… not far at all, if you’re closer to the city, it’s worth a drive out!

laid back and easy-going wine class… but a tiny bit overpriced — even with a living social voucher. we appreciated that our winemaker/guide was very laid back and unpretentious. we learned that«franzia» has come a long way :) boxed wine is apparently the way to go these days — lasts longer upon opening! the tour itself is pretty standard and can be skipped. the etiquette class is fairly basic but nice and casual as was the tasting. i emailed the winery before booking regarding bringing children and learned that the winery is family-owned and welcomes children even at their classes. we took the chance and brought our 7-month old and sure enough, there are even toys in the corner to keep little ones occupied! the wine was better than expected but i knocked off one star because when purchasing wine, the woman seemed a bit distracted/rushed. i wanted to ask a few more questions(which would’ve probably led to purchasing more wine!) but she seemed to look over our heads a lot(at non-existent customers?) making me just want to complete our transaction.

This was my first winery /wine tasting, so I really don’t have much to compare it to. But overall it was a good experience. $ 8 for a flight of wine tasting glasses I felt was a good value and the wine was pretty good. We ended up leaving with 2 bottles to take home. Overall if you are down town Naperville and are looking for something, give it a try.

If you know anything at all about wine please don’t go here. I don’t know what I was thinking. Groupon just sucks me in sometimes. I wasn’t expecting to find a favorite wine here, but I was expecting friendly service. This place doesn’t even deserve a review, so I will just make a few points. 1. The wine is awful. I make wine(from Napa grapes shipped in) and my worst bottle is 100 times better than the«best» offered here. 2. The owner(not the man– he was alright) but the woman. Please. Get over yourself. You own a winery in Northern Illinois. She ignored us once a «local doctor» and his girlfriend came in. I was embarrassed for her! Horrible wine, snotty service– No thank you!

The winery itself is beautiful. There is a nice tasting counter and an outdoor patio that looks like it would be nice for relaxing with a glass of wine. This is a great place to get a gift for a wine lover as they have a huge gift shop of wine related items. However, the wine is truly awful. I did a tasting and bought a bottle because I had a gift card. I later tried to drink it, had about three sips and threw the entire bottle away. That never happens! If you like northern Illinois wine, you may like what they offer. But if you have classier tastes, you won’t like Fox Valley Winery wines.

I bought a groupon this summer to do a wine tasting and tour at the vineyard. My group was the very first wine tour on the first day. They were pretty unorganized and the groupon was suppose to include a wagon pulled tour. But, that was the best thing that could happen! The owner ended up taking us on a walking tour and it was fantastic! We were able to touch, smell, and taste the grapes while taking in the wonderful views and learning so much about the wines and grapes from the owner. We ended up stopping at the store to check it out. The son and best friend of the owner were super helpful. Also, they give 3 complimentary tasting of any wine of your choice. The wine shop is really cute and you can find a number of random wine items that you might need. If I’m in the area I will def stop by for a tasting and to buy a bottle.

I spend a lot of time in Oswego so I don’t know how I missed this place. Thank you Groupon for introducing me to FVW. The winery is nicely decorated, the employees are so welcoming, and the wine is fantastic. I purchased a 5-bottle sampler and got to try a few other wines while I was picking up my bottles. Dry wine lovers, cover your ears… I only like sweet wines. I turn dry wines into wine coolers by adding 7up. So thank you FVW for having so many sweet selections! My husband and I were thrilled to find a new favorite wine: White Niagara. It is fragrant and oh so delicious, we cannot wait to pick up some more.

Ever since my brother moved to Plano, I’ve been driving past Fox Valley Winery on my way to visit him. A few weeks ago, I finally stopped to check the place out — and I’m so glad that I did! My friend and I enjoyed three complimentary samples at the tasting bar. My wine preference veers toward the dry and the winemaker himself made three excellent recommendations. I wound up purchasing two bottles of wine and making a mental note to come back before the holidays to pick up a few bottles of Spice Wine, which tastes like Christmas in a bottle. I was also impressed that they had wines available at every price point. A bottle of the Heritage Collection 2006, a solid red table wine, was only $ 5.95! I’ll definitely be picking up more than one of those the next time I visit. The Vidal Blanc was another winner at $ 8.95. The prices go much higher than these, but like I said — something for everyone! I was also intrigued by their boxed wines(Franzia this isn’t) and would love to snag one of those when I have a reason to have people over and celebrate. I noticed that they have a lovely party room in the back as well. When I visited, a group was celebrating a bridal shower. Like Ah-nold said, I’ll be back!

I love this winery. The staff is always helpful and courteous(and I have sadly been there a lot). You get to try 3 wines when you are there, and the people behind the counter always help out with picking something you will love. Recently, they started doing Groupons, which is even better. My husband and I buy it, go on their website and find out when they are doing events(some caterers come in and you can get food), crack open one of the bottles, order food and voila! An inexpensive date with cheap wine! EDIT: For the people complaining about the wines, you have to realize that there is only so much you can do with the grapes that grow in Illinois. They have started another label(Big Terra) which is made from grapes imported from California. Perhaps you should try that one. Personally, the Big Terra Red(not the Cab) is my favorite wine.
