We were very excited to try this restaurant. I tried to call ahead since I have a two year old to ask if they took reservations and what the wait was. The lady who answered the phone was very rude. Her answer was«I don’t know, we’re very busy and it’s first come first serve,» and hung up. Never made it to the parking lot.

This is now Jenna’s and it opens next week. I love this place. Nothing fancy but it’s immaculate & the seafood is always fresh. Woman owned — power on sister!

We were feeling hungry on our way home from Attitash on 10/17, so I checked Unilocal to see what was good in the area. This was a quiet little family-style place with kind people greeting us with a «sit wherever you’d like» when we walked in. The atmosphere was definitely diner-style, which is fine with us. Food is more important! My 12 yr old had a lobster roll($ 14) with fries(extra $ 1.75 to upgrade from chips) Large size is served on a Kaiser roll. Small would have been hot dog size. He enjoyed it. My bf & I each had a cup of seafood chowder($ 7 ea). Small portion for the price, but very good after seasoning it. He ordered a side of coleslaw, which he enjoyed. We also split a fisherman’s platter($ 23, plus $ 1 fee for sharing). The seafood was all fried perfectly and delicious. My bf enjoyed the fries, while I focused on the onion rings. The batter was a nice texture, but again. desperately needed seasoning. When asked how everything was, bf said it was great, but also mentioned the lack of salt. The owner(I believe) explained the older customers prefer less salt. Understandable, but if I were to offer advice, it would be to have a fine grain salt on the tables that will cling to the food. The shaker salt was very coarse and just bounced off. Would be closer to 5 stars if seasoned properly. We weren’t disappointed at all and would return next year.

Perfect place for a nice bite to eat coming back from story land. The seafood chowder was delicious. A down to earth, family owned restaurant, not fancy but very welcoming.

Very fresh food, great taste. Staff has a local, friendly vibe. Go for the food, not necessarily the atmosphere.

This place was wonderful. It’s got the cutest little late house outfront that lights up at night. I’ve driven by a dozen times over the years and I’m so glad I stopped in today. I had the scallops baked with lemon and butter and a simple salad. The scallops were phenomenal. The best ones I’ve had in decades. The waitress informed me that this is because they are not soaked in a bleach solution like the shiny ones at the supermarket. They were cooked perfectly and the waitress was wonderfully friendly. The waitress said that they drive down to Massachusetts three times a week to get the seafood this fresh. What a treat! My son had the steak tips and they were perfectly cooked and surprisingly tender. I look forward to coming back here again and again over the years. I strongly recommend this place!

Been going here for years. It’s a must eat every time I’m up there. Shanty style seafood restaurant. The way I like it. Prices are reasonable food is always good. They always have a good deal on twins. The fried food is light and crispy… very good!

This is not fine dining but it is good food, prepared well. Three of us had the lobster dinner — lobster size of your choice, steamers, and two sides. I had cole slaw and garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes were delicious and the cole slaw was fine. The lobsters and clams were perfectly cooked, sweet and delicious with plenty of butter and steamer broth. One of us had the seafood platter which was not at all greasy and contained lots of seafood including fish, scallops, shrimp, and clams. I had some and everything was delicious. The batter was light and dry. The service was pleasant and attentive. The utensils were plastic as were the wine«glasses» but that made it feel more like a shore dinner. There were plenty of napkins and towelettes. The décor was simple and the music was not too loud. We had gotten take out from LQ before but never had eaten in. We will be back because the food and service were excellent.

Even though Ossipee, NH is miles away from the shore, you can still get incredibly tasty and fresh seafood on the cheap, even though they’ll tell you that seafood prices have gone up and they’re expensive now. We had a 1 lb of steamers($ 5), lobster dinner for me($ 18 for 1.25 lb lobster, corn on the cob, and mashed potatoes) and fried clams and fries for my husband(don’t remember the price). The steamers were good, but slightly overcooked. The lobster was cooked perfectly and very delicious. The fried clams were plump and sweet. But as food as the seafood was, the mashed potatoes were BYFAR the best part of dinner. We both happen to prefer more textured mashed potatoes, rather than absolutely smooth creamy. The red potatoes were mashed with their skins and I think they must have put in a ton of butter because it was so rich and tasty. We actually got another serving of mashed potatoes because we loved it so much. Oddly, it’s not a side item that on the menu, so you’ll need to ask for it. Definitely get it if you’re eating here. The people working here are the nicest and sweetest. It looked like it was going to rain heavily and they were worried about us because we had walked over. One of the cooks came out to offer us a ride home if it rained. We were very touched by her concern. It never rained and if it had, it was all right because we were staying in a cabin that was 50 yards away.

I have been going to Lobster Quest for 10+ years, and I have had everything on the menu, and nothing has ever been bad. 18.99 for twin lobsters(this season) is just too good a price to pass up! And they display their lobster tank for everyone to see the fresh lobster. It’s worth a trip any time you are in the area.

I use Unilocal often but never post. Had to make an exception to do right by these guys. Stopped in on the way back to Boston out of necessity and was concerned about the low rating — but most of the reviews are old and maybe things have changed. My experience was: fast friendly service(we pulled in just after close and they opened the door and welcom ed us), a good portion of fresh tasting lobster on our rolls with a touch of mayo, and really good chunky chowder. Look, I’m not giving them my vote for best lobster roll in new england, but if you’re in the area and looking for a decent seafood shack this place will do the trick.

I stopped in with a friend and really enjoyed my lobster roll. I thought it was much better that another I had at another location about 45 min. South. I loved the toasted buttery roll that the lobster was served with. I finished it all and would be happy to return if I am there again.

We come here once or twice each summer for the lobster. The lobster this time was excellent as usual. I also had steamers and I side of onion rings; both were also excellent and the onion rings didn’t have a trace of grease. Service was very friendly and prompt. Prices are good. My only complaints are that they only serve water in bottles(and charge for it) and I didn’t like the sports talk radio playing in the background(not compatible with a relaxing meal). The talk radio may be enough to keep me from coming back.

Been coming here for years. Disregard the previous reviews. Terrific fried food. I bring my own butter for the lobsters and steamers. Everything is prepared wonderfully. Good prices. Super friendly staff. You can’t ask for more. They are under new management. It is now Jena’s Lobster Quest, and has been for several years. www.jenaslobsterquest. com

Lobster roll served on seeded hamburger roll. Way overpriced @ $ 14.00 for the tiny bit of lobster and this was supposed to be 1⁄3 larger than the $ 10:00 special lobster roll. I hate to see how small that it is !!! Waitress said fresh sucked chunks of lobster very light mayo and a bit of celery It was smashed to a paste like consistency with what looked like some type of fish roe sprinkled in… I couldn’t tell … The only thing right was the bit of celery She had a bit of an attitude also . To many good restaurants in the area to give this another try …
