I can’t believe nobody has reviewed this place yet! We were camping nearby in West Ossipee for 4 days, and hit up this place twice! From the road, I wasn’t able to see a sign anywhere that said«Coffee Caboose» because there were so many huge stuffed animals sitting on huge chairs out front blocking the caboose(to presumably attract customers and kids). If we hadn’t Unilocaled it ahead of time, I probably would have driven right by. I think there was a lettered sign out front that claimed the best soft serve, or something like that. However, for the amount of cars that were in the parking lot, I knew it was a popular place… especially since there was another ice cream place 30 seconds down the road on the other side where there was only one car parked out front. When you drive into the parking lot, that’s when you can finally see the red«caboose» where they have set up shop. The stuffed animals, covered seating area, and fenced-in play area for kids kind of block the view of the caboose. They offer soft and hard ice creams, and I thought it was awesome that they had a menu to tell you the descriptions of the hard flavors. They had all of the regular ice cream offerings including sundaes, waffle cones, frappes, etc. I saw that they also had some kind of ice cream pie as well. Being a soft serve ice cream lover, I decided that if they are claiming they have the best soft serve, I should try it. I ordered a medium twist in a cup, and I was a little disappointed when I saw the small size(as a side note, the owner has posted a message on their facebook page that their new employees are still learning the sizes, can sometimes be inconsistent, but are working on training the employees). It really looked like a small size anywhere else I had gone. Regardless, when I took my first bite I knew I was in love. It was dense and creamy, and not like any other soft serve I have ever had. So many soft serve brands are icy or lack any flavor. This was rich, and I was truly blown away. The hard flavors looked amazing too, and my husband got a frappé with their Peanut butter 180 flavor. He loved it so much we went back the next day and got it again. We even asked on our last day if they knew the brand of the soft serve mix that they used, but the presumably new employee didn’t know.(I only asked for my dream of one day owning a real mini soft-serve machine that I could have at home). So to recap, my only negatives were no signage out front(And why Coffee Caboose? Why not Ice Cream Caboose?) and the sizing issues, which I’m sure will be fixed soon. Can’t wait to go back and get my next soft serve fix.
