Loved going here when i used to live in the area. Now that im about an hour away, i dont go there much. But the days i spent there and walked around, i enjoyed very much. Peaceful and quiet. Nice scenery. I took my dog there. Theres a little gift shop with bathrooms and the outside has a display of wild birds. People are friendly. I went to the flower island as well, not sure if it was the time of year but it wasnt worth it. not impressed with the flower island but other than that, love this place:)

I have been enjoying the nature trails, maple syrup making, hiking, and learning about conservation since 1975. After I moved out of the Ossining area in 2002 and down to Miami Beach, FL I make a $ 1000 dollar donation per year to keep this place alive for future generations to come. I try to visit Teatown twice a year, in the Spring and in the Fall. This place is a must for nature preserve lovers !

Upon seeing reviews for this place I decided to take a drive up there(from the Bronx). After a nice scenic ride up the Taconic in the fall, I was there within 45 minutes. There are a few parking lots to choose from. Take a good look at the map online before coming so that you can decide which trail you want to be close to. I chose the one next to the nature center. The nature has a few reptiles including turtles, some fish and snakes. There is also a small shop in there that sells coffee, snacks and souvenirs. There are a bunch of trails which you can follow. The reservation is well kept and organized as the trees are marked with colored tags so that you can stay on track. The entrance and exits of trails also has the distance of the trail, which is very helpful. I only did the 1.5 mile lakeside trail this time but I plan on returning to hike more trails. Some lovely scenic views throughout the reservation. There is no fee by the way and both bikes and pets are allowed.

I really wish I could give Teatown more than 5 stars! This place is truly amazing and is the perfect place to explore and learn about nature! Teatown has one of a kind animal exhibits and nature trails! They even have fun year round events such as summer/winter camp, festivals, birthday parties, mini day trips and maple syrup making! ** if you have children sign them up for Teatown’s summer camp! It is worth every penny and your child will get an one of a kind experience!

Really great hiking trails. I took the Lakeside Loop and the Hidden Valley Trail. The trails are well marked and there are a few maps in the parking lots. It was nice to feel a 100 miles away from everything and only traveling maybe 30 min. Visitor Center was clean and had a few things for sale.

I’ve known Teatown since I was knee high on a tadpole… Well, not that little but close. Teatown is incredible and so accessible. A must visit and please, please support it. They have great programs and a very knowledgeable staff. I try to stop by when I visit the family and will ALWAYS have fond memories.

If you’re looking for a bucolic setting for a nice walk(and want to bring your dog — on leash), check out Teatown Lake in Ossining. The visitor center is beautiful(with restrooms, parking and maps to get you oriented). On the way home, channel your inner-Don and Betty Draper and visit downtown Ossining for the spectacular architecture and lovely, historic churches.

Ditto to Lex’ review — we used to live right around the corner, and T-town was a fabulous neighbor. Now that we’ve moved 3 – 4 miles away, we still drive back to enjoy familiar walks. The annual flower sale is wonderful, as is the pancake breakfast — and all the days of the year. Did a great winter hike-ette to the frozen lake in January for stargazing class. What magic! Thanks Teatown!

Set on over 800 acres of land, in the depths of the trails of Teatown nary a car or airplane can be heard. Pure wilderness… in Ossining. Complete with multiple hiking trails of varying lengths and difficulty, a nature center, modest gift shop, and free parking, Teatown is a beautiful place to hike, run, stroll, or just sit and reflect perched upon the many benches set throughout. Many animals can be seen on the trails and around the lake: frogs, fish, ducks, chipmunks, squirrels, and more.
