My friends and I wanted to try some place new in Ossining and heard this foodery just opened up so we had to try it. Great meal for a great price, the staff was very friendly! I definitely want to try this place again. The only issue I ran into was that the food was a tad bit cold, but still delicious. Will be back!

Food freakin amazing! We got take out including fried chicken (as good as homemade!) oxtail — DELICIOSO! (meat a bitty fatty with oxtail, I usually hate fatty meat but the flavor was so amazingly delightful on the non fatty part, it was still spectacularly worth it and I would definitely order it again regardless of the fatty parts) The flavor and texture of the rice and peas was impressingly better than expected, the sweet plantains were freshly made and tasted like candy on my tongue, the cabbage was well cooked and uniquely flavored –the overall meal was well worth the price. Oh and the Jerk chicken — perfectly spiced and marinated. Somebody in a restaurant finally figured out how to cook and make it taste GOOD around here!

Mannnn I really had high hopes for this place. Bummer! My husband and I went there today and I was greeted by a young man named Peter at the counter. Since we’ve never been there we were just checking the menu. So my husband order jerk chicken with a side of Mac and cheese and cabbage. I ordered fried chicken with a side of Mac n cheese. Now i understand how teenagers can be we never expect them to be enthusiastic about their jobs, but the young man just had poor customer service manners. I asked a few questions and it seemed to frustrate the guy. We even asked for a chicken patty with our order. I asked a few questions like do you have any more fried dumplings, or cornbread? No. NO. NO. Then I asked if I can have white meat instead of dark and he gives me a very undertone snark attitude saying we only have legs and thighs. My husband and I looked at each other with a smile because this is not the kind of customer service we are used to, mind you we were the only customers in there. So once he rang us up, he never gave us the chicken patty, so my husband said can I get one and I reminded him, hey we did order it, so the guy gave me a stern look. Anyways we took our food home and just laughed at the unnecessary attitude we received and ate our food. I am not biased at all trust me even if we received awful customer service and had amazing tasting food I would say so but I’m sorry to say but this place is sub par. Jerk chicken was dry, fried chicken was too salty, Mac n cheese a bit rubbery and bland, cabbage was more like coleslaw and not very good, plantains were semi dry. It seems like they need to learn from the restaurant down the street on how to cook food and customer service. Really had high hopes but that went out the door.

I have taken out from Cravin several times and never been disappointed. The first time I went there they were close to closing and I was in my scooter as I am disabled and had my dog. The owner very polite came outside and held the dogs lease for me so I could go in. I had the jerk salmon and it was delicious. The peas and rice along with the cabbage was also excellent. I have been back for jerk chicken twice more and each time the food was delicious. The service is great and the staff mostly family are very polite and helpful. I’m glad they opened up across from the post office on Main Street. I was hoping they might have the Sea moss drink from the Caribbean. I wish them great success.

Awesome!!! Its everything I thought it would be… I ordered the oxtails and rice and peas coco bread and cabbage, the oxtails we’re like butter, cabbage wasn’t as what I’m used to but still good, courteous staff, manager even came out to greet me… this is a great spot, can’t wait to try the jerk chicken a big thumbs up «!

Tried Cravin for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The food is GREAT! Had the E Fish, stew chicken, fish soup and mac and cheese. Can’t wait to try the oxtail and the curry goat next time.

I had their rice and peas with oxtail this past weekeend and I gotta say the oxtail was very well seasoned. It was very nice and tender. It has the right texture not too hard and not too soft just right. I also had some jerk chicken and the jerk sauce on the side was spicy enough just how I wanted

I’ve been there a couple of times to get lunch and the food is delicious and the owners are very friendly and sweet and very welcoming. I love the oxtail and stew chicken the best so far I haven’t tried the goat meat yet, that is the next dish on my list, I also have tried the beef patties and it wasn’t warm enough and I didn’t like it. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Lazy Saturday around the house but I got out of my bed just for THIS… I’ve had takeout here a few times already and have never been disappointed! The food is well prepared, always hot and fresh, and very flavorful! The portions are HUGE and definitely a great value!!! A medium plate can easily feed 2 people and a large plate can feed 2 people with generous appetites! Can’t forget to mention that the establishment is clean and inviting and the staff is always friendly!!! So glad Cravin’ Jamaican brought a new takeout option to Ossining! I was getting tired of pizza and Chinese food!!!

Visited Cravin’ for the first time yesterday … and I regret I waited so long.
We ordered lunch for four people in my office: two orders of jerk chicken, curry goat, and curry chicken. The food was delicious, meat was tender but not overcooked and the seasoning didn’t overwhelm the flavor of the meat, which I sometimes encountered in other Jamaican restaurants. Cabbage had perfect texture (for my taste) — not too soft, not too crunchy. Medium size servings were plenty enough for very hungry males.
Employees at the counter were very friendly, and the place was very clean.
Overall it was a great experience, so please keep it up — my colleagues at the office as well as my family will definitely become «Frequent Cravers» :o)

I heard about this restaurant opening a few months ago and couldn’t wait to try it. Yesterday was the day I got to do just that. The reason it took so long is because I live 5 hours away. Dinner yesterday was amazing and breakfast this morning was even better. I definitely recommend this place if you are a fan of Jamaican cuisine and if your not try it anyways you will become one. The owner was very nice conversation was great. I can honestly say I will be a regular.

Went for the first this evening and the food was AWESOME!# I purchased the oxtail dinner with authentic rice and peas, cabbage steamed to perfection not too crunchy not too soft, and you cant forget the beef pattie and co co bread! So relieved I don’t have to travel far for Great home style Caribbean Cuisine. MUST TRY!

Went twice this week and each time I was pleasantly surprised. Place is clean food was good and priced according. Service was good food was hot, perfect for a quick lunch. Also maybe try serving food on plates when staying to eat… I’m not one for eating out of togo’s if I don’t have to…
Went back again and tried the brown stew chicken and again another great meal.
Ox tail one more time and again it topped the charts… keep it up.
And BTW they are a really nice family which make for an enjoyable time and another reason to go.

Excellent Jamaican food. Authentic and plentiful. I’ve tried the curry chicken and was delicious. The ox tail is excellent! Definitely recommend.

Tried Cravin for first time 10.2. We are really impressed. The jerk chicken and ribs were excellent. Really nice family run place. Can’t wait to go back and try more, the Ox Tail, curry goat.

At this point I have had the jerk chicken, curry goat, curry chicken, and oxtail. Let me first disclose that the owners go to my church. Jerk chicken is tender, fall of the bone. Spiciness is determined by the sauce you apply. Rice and peas and cabbage are pretty standard. Curry goat and cocktail is what you would expect, tender and seasoned to the bone. I’m not to crazy about Jamaican curry chicken
but if you like you will enjoy. Cashiers are courteous. This is a new restaurant bumps are still worked, but this staple is here to stay.

Upon my entering customer service was EXCELLENT! The workers were very polite. I got the oxtail dinner and it was delicious… the service was fast and accurate. The restaurant it self was very clean. I be returning very soon. for my next cheat meal… lol which didn’t really feel like cheating at all!!!

A nice addition to the Ossining food scene. Friendly, family run place. We had the curried chicken with rice and cabbage, and two sides; fried chicken and plantains. A Ting soda and fruit punch to drink. Met Peter, one of the proprietors and the cheft, Bryce. Looking forward to trying their oxtail and callaloo. Welcome to downtown, Cravin!

The restaurant was clean, the workers were polite and open to accommodate my every request. The food was delicious. I first tried the ox-​tail and that was delicious, so I returned for the stewed chicken, and that was out of this world delicious, so I returned and tried the escovitched fish and that was off the planet delicious. Of course there is much more on the menu. MMMMMM
I WILL BE BACK AND RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY. THE PRICE IS JUST RIGHT.
