We’ve been here before with no problem, tonight we were shown a table and given menus. We then sat for over 20 minutes watching the staff ignore us, finally the bartender comes over to see if we’ve been waited on. She took care of us after that. Not enough staff? Unorganized? We might try again, we’ll see…

I wish I could say that this place has vastly improved since first opening, but I continue to be disappointed in the lack of consistency. One day you can walk in a get good service and a decent meal and the next day you have have slow service with mediocre food. I really believe a large part of the issue is lack of training and a trickle down attitude from the top down.

The beer selection is really varied with some unexpected options. There are many fresh menu items. I love to come here with friends, and also with my family.

Had a nice lunch with clients. The service was great and everyone really enjoyed all the sandwiches. I recommend the French Dip if you are undecided.

Great local and fresh food. So fresh, the chef has a GARDENOUTBACK! Crazy good and also supports local farms. It isn’t the so called«farm to table,» but it as close as you can get while still having a ton of variety. Salmon is fresh and so good. Fish taco’s on Tuesdays. Oh and a great craft beer selection! I’ve lived in bigger cities and this would match any restaurant there. Oskaloosa is a very lucky community!

Great place for an after work get together or a weekend good time with friends. Different specials every day, example being Wednesday they do for solar martinis. Few of them and some appetizers and your good to go. They were doing specialty pizzas for awhile then stopped then restarted again? Not sure the thought process there as these things were amazing. I’m partial to the buffalo blue cheese one myself. They also host quite a few charity events for the community which only makes me more inclined to want to support them as a business. If I had to dig for a complaint and it is a reach but the staff can’t seem to get their minds around using the iPads to take orders with. Other than that it is a great place

Loving another addition to South Central Iowa’s dining scene! We’ve been to On the Green a few times and here’s what we love: 1. A choice of craft beers on tap and some great cocktails. $ 5 for a cocktail is a CRAZY bargain. 2. Risotto tots. Amazing appetizer of a quality you certainly won’t find anywhere else in the area. 3. 50⁄50 burger: ½ beef/½ bacon, all amazing. Roast chicken — expertly prepared with a crisp skin and MOIST. Fish tacos — spiced and seasoned just right(should be a permanent menu item!) Salmon — another must-have! This place continues to improve as they settle into the area and staff training takes hold — and we are happy to bring guests to On the Green to enjoy fresh food that doesn’t come off a truck — all for the same price you’d pay at an Applebee’s or other cruddy chain.

Sunday brunch was fantastic. French toast and the potatoes were great. We were seated right away and the service was great. Things sure got busy just prior to departing. Surely seems that it would be a great place for after church brunch. Really want to do dinner as the menu looked fantastic.
