Well the local JCPenny store is closing down according to the news in a few short months but the review process is for while it’s still open :). We don’t usually frequent JCPenny unless there is one of their many coupon offers involved. Prices are high for many items but you can find deals, and if you have their credit card they have other savings they extend periodically. The store is okay but the shopping center, as my fellow Unilocaler pointed out, gives off a time forgotten feel to it. None of the employees seemed overly eager to assist in my visits but didn’t seem rude when encountered either. 3 stars seems to be fair as it isn’t terrible but not spectacular either.

Hooo, boy, this store is depressing! Most of the shopping center has been abandoned, so when we pulled up in the evening, the boyfriend questioned whether the store was even open. They were, and we wandered through rack upon rack of sad-looking clothes, searching for the home department and throw pillows. We eventually found the area, but I guess they don’t carry decorative pillows here… We did look at some sample curtains hanging up, with information on them to order online(not available in the store). Not quite what we had in mind, since if we’d wanted to do that, we would’ve stayed home… At no point were we asked by anyone if we needed help. We were left to stumble in, look around disgustedly, and stumble out. Next time I’ve got the urge to shop at Penney’s, I’ll make the trek to a store at the mall. This place should follow its neighbors’ example and quietly fold up and die.
