Excellent breakfast. Only one waitress though so it was a bit of a wait but she did her best. We’d come back.

We tried to eat here for breakfast; but walked in and found out it was a smoking resturant.

Our service was horrible… Our food was cold… Our waitress was rude… The manager had zero concern!!! I had to click 1 star to get this far in the survey otherwise they would’ve got a zero!!! We liked it much better when the twins were here service was amazing every time!!!

The food is absolutely amazing! The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The menu is very reasonably priced, with an excellent selection! Every time I’m at the lake, I ONLY eat breakfast at Kays. It’s my little vacation escape. Sherri is a doll!!! Love you guys, and I can’t wait to get back from Texas and see you again!

Finally a place that makes over-medium eggs correctly! Very busy. Be prepared for a wait if you have a large party but overall very nice breakfast joint!

Took the family to Kays for their all day breakfast. Be prepared to wait a bit especially if it is raining. I had to make a special request for creamer from the waitress. She only offered powdered creamer for the coffee. Waitress was okay. She was busy though working about 10 different tables. I’d be tired too. Three stars because our hash browns were burnt and the chicken fried steak was rubbery according to my hubby. I enjoyed the eggs Benedict. No specific kids menu here. We ordered the baby dollar pancakes which were normal size and a lot to eat.

The best part about this place is the all you can eat concept. It’s genius. I had the biscuits and gravy, chocolate chip pancakes, another round of biscuits and gravy, and eggs and toast. The food was awesome. Only issue I encountered was that I had ordered chocolate chip pancakes and only one of my pancakes had chips, I could hear the table next to us say they had gotten one chocolate chip pancake when they ordered regular. Not a giant deal. Service was good. You could tell it is a local business which I love. We will definitely eat here again.

We went on a Thursday morning. Took a long time to get the food and most of it was not hot … and we could tell it had been sitting a while. We ordered off the all you could eat menu and our second order was the same. Long time to wait and not hot. Much better in years past.

This place is your usual Lake of the Ozark cheap breakfast place. My family and I went here on a Sunday morning around 11:30am. There were only a few other tables in there and were seated immediately. There were 8 of us and had to split us between 2 tables, which is totally fine. Got coffee right away, and then waited 6 minutes for my milk. Again, not a huge deal. Waitress took our order. Food came out in about 12 – 15 minutes. Everything was correct. All 4 kids present were happy. We got the check and paid and left. Pretty uneventful. There’s really no healthy options, so if you’re like me, you’ll have to choose between oatmeal and… oatmeal. There’s just one thing that super ticked me off to no end. I wasn’t feeling breakfast, so when it came my turn to order, I said«I’m ok with just coffee, thank you.» And the waitress actually replied«REALLY??? Are you SURE?» …like I’m 3 years old and don’t know if I want to order or not? Like how could I resist grease-covered food? Like I’m crazy? It was so rude. I couldn’t believe she responded like that. And then when I said«Um, yes, I’m sure. Thank you.» She replied back«Ooooookaaaaayyy then.» Are you kidding me? Let me make clear, I am not against greasy spoon types of places if that’s what you’re all about. But I don’t generally care to partake, and it’s not like they have any vegan sausage. Which I’m fine with. But when I say I’m just going to stick with coffee, don’t judge me like I’m a idiot. Thanks. The rest of the visit was fine. Nothing extraordinary, but fine. But that just ruined my entire day.

If you are really hungry it is a place to go. We all had breakfast and all was good and service was great. With this business around I am not sure how bob Evans and other chain restaurants stay open.

I cannot say enough about how much I love eating at Kay’s. Our friends come to the area the same weekend each year for a camping trip. We cook dinner over the campfire, but we always drive in to town for breakfast at Kay’s! I know it can’t be easy to hear«we have a party of 17,» but the staff is always friendly and willing to take care of us. The servers are a lot of fun. Their jovial attention really adds to the experience. And the food. Oh my goodness! Nothing beats it. Whether ordering the all-you-can-eat or selecting a meal off the menu, you can’t miss. We will be back for camping next year, and you can bet we’ll be back at Kay’s for French toast, bacon, and everything else.

This is a classic place that is far outlived its prior reputation. The food was cold they were out of some items and it was pretty well tasteless. The sausage links were right out of the grocery store. Microwave quality. There was nothing remotely home cooking about it. Even the Rye toast was cheap

A real homey place. We have been going for years with our large family/friend groups and they are always so nice and quick. They have a great home style breakfast menu, and a neat set up for all you can eat breakfast. I feel like the prices are good. $ 9 – 10 for an adult breakfast.

The food at Kay’s was done well and tasted great. Oatmeal, sausage pattys and omelet were above average. And you can’t beat a $ 8.95 all you can eat breakfast. Problem is the service is terrible. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant which was full, she had about 20 tables or so and showed zero sign of urgency. The all you can eat breakfast is not a buffet and required the waitress to get the food from the kitchen. I ate my first plate of food and when I wanted a second I waited 30 minutes for the waitress to make it back to our table. My appetite was lost by this time but I had waited so long I had my mind set on a second plate of food so I ordered a hash brown and two sausage links which arrived 20 minutes later followed by the check after another 25 minutes. Only one refill on my coffee throughout the breakfest.

Simply amazing! When it comes to breakfast, there’s no need to be fancy or overdone! Kay’s delivers a truly delicious home-cooked breakfast at a reasonable price. The biscuits and gravy were on point! The all-u-can eat breakfast is a great deal if you can take down some food. I was only able to get through two big biscuits and gravy, and a small side of hash-brows, but I was happy to pay the $ 8.95 as it was still well worth it! A MUSTGO breakfast stop at the lake!

The one item I can recommend without hesitation is the homemade buttermilk biscuits. Our waitress mentioned to us that they’ve recently started making them from scratch, and I hope they never stop. It’s very rare, these days, to find a restaurant with fresh, from-scratch biscuits. We didn’t have the French Toast, but I’m told it’s good, as well. The rest of our breakfast, outside of the biscuits, was merely acceptable. The breakfast meats were simply okay; the coffee was passable. The biscuits, though, would keep me coming back.
