Ordered two tiki marsala(levels 1 and 3) and one butter chicken(level of spicy 1) and the garlic nan. Everything was fantastic. The level three tiki Marsala was perfect for my tastes and I really liked that the nan wasn’t so bready. The view of the mountains was beautiful as well. We took our kids for an early weeknight dinner but given that the restaurant has table cloths and artfully golden cloth napkins it would make for a nice date night.

Surprisingly Good! I didn’t have high hopes for Indian food in this area, but the lunch buffet w/garlic naan was quite tasty!

I’m not going to be popular, and to be perfectly fair I’m only reviewing the buffet. I’ve never ordered off the regular menu. The three times(yup…I believe in try, try again!) we’ve eaten here the food off the buffet was Bland, flavorless, and the kofkas taste freezer burned, which leads me to believe they don’t cook their own offerings and instead purchase bulk from a company like Sysco or some such. Not even the samosas are good, tasting mainly of old oil. I will say they cook up great Naan! But you get one Naan per person and Lord help you if you want more as its not on the buffet and is instead brought to you by your server. Good selection of Indian ales, but I’m not there to drink, I’m there for curries, and saag paneer, and tandoori items… all of which are lackluster and disappointing. Nothing sparkles or stands out for us, and if the buffet isn’t that great I’m not that inspired to go back to order off of their menu. We’ll keep going to Saffron Indian Bistro.

This place has great food and ambience. The daily lunch buffets are excellent, plenty of choices, with a salad and two dessert choices, and includes lots of fresh warm naan bread. The service has always been excellent, refilling our waters just in the nick of time. This place is wonderful all around.

Excellent Tasty food. I asked them to try and kill me, and they did a good job with the spice. A lot of places won’t make food super fire breathing spicy, Flavor of India did an excellent job of this. They also kept the water flowing as I was drinking a lot of it. Thank you for the great experience.

Try their Chicken Korma. It’s the best in Tucson. They get their dishes right every time. My favorite restaurant in town.

The food was REALLY good, very flavorful with meat tender enough to cut with a fork. Very good portion size, 1 dish easily feeds two people, and the aloo naan is a must!

I have had their food a few times now(3 – 4). Our friends live really close by, so sometimes they order carry out for us. It’s hard to put my finger on what’s wrong with their food, but I think the biggest thing that stands out to me is that it never seems fresh. It’s also usually pretty bland as far as Indian food goes. I came in to pick up the food this last time, and the restaurant was very nice & seemed clean. Unfortunately, when I walked up to the bar area to pick up the carry out food, I had a not so great customer service experience. I was not greeted with any«hello» and when I sat down in a chair the woman at the counter didn’t look up from what she was doing and asked me very pointedly if I was getting carry out. She rang me up without ever making eye contact and when my food came out a man shoved it at me in a giant bag and never said a word to me. He just stared at the TV the entire time. I said«THANKYOU» pretty loudly and walked out. I struggled with my big bag at the door but no one noticed. Kind of a bland experience. I prefer India Oven.

Flavor of India has a full menu, but I mainly stop in for the lunch buffet. It has the usual offerings — lamb meatballs in curry sauce, tomato chicken, samosas, saag, etc. The difference is, it’s delicious here. The mint chutney has some heat and tastes fresh. They do a good job of keeping the pans filled and hot too.

Love this restaurant! Amazing food(saag paneer is a favorite) and they are great for those skipping the gluten. Very family friendly too.

Fantastic food. This is one that I hate to share because I don’t want to fight the crowds, but I want more for this restaurant to stay so share away I will. We’ve recommended and brought a LOT of people here and every single person has loved the food. We have not had anything bad(except the lamb and pea samosa’s — just fair) and continue to go back again and again. We first tried to mute the spices but found that even when we’ve had them up it, it’s still very delicious and very comparable to the food I’ve had in country.

I stopped by there for a Lunch buffet, it was the closes Indian restaurant near the timeshare I was staying. The restaurant was located in one corner of the mini shopping mall, was easy to find and also plenty of parking space around. The restaurant was very space, neat, clean, well decorated, with great mountain views across the skyline. The service was very good, staff was friendly and attentive. The dishes were nice and authentic, however was mild for me.

Hands-down best Indian cuisine in the Tucson area(sorry, Saffron). Worth the 45 drive up to Rancho Vistoso. Family owned/run and friendly staff. Chicken Korma ROCKS! Always tender, flavorful, cooked right, no bad meat in the food at all. Buy-one-get-one coupons with diners card and other Tucson area advertisements. Solid restaurant. Always makes my girlfriend smile and gets the job done.

Came here for the lunch buffet — my first time in the restaurant. I have to agree with the reviewer that said there is a lack of flavor in the dishes. The variety at the buffet was good, but many of the curries tasted similar, none were even remotely spicy, and they were — for the most part — fairly bland. The biggest disappointment was the Saag Paneer, spinach curry with cottage cheese, which is my favorite Indian curry. At this restaurant, there was no cheese in this curry — just spinach. The cheese adds the richness and creaminess to this dish, but at this restaurant the curry tasted more like baby food. This restaurant is the closest Indian place to our home, so it’s a real disappointment that the flavors just weren’t there. We’ve been told that a Indian place on Oracle is a lot better, and will try that the next time we get a craving for Indian.

I live in the SF bay area part-time, which is a major«foodie» area, but I know everyone’s taste is individual. Still, compared to the other places in Tucson — Flavor of India is one of the best and I’ve tried many here. Shahi Paneer(curry) is wonderful. Masala dishes are very good and they are the Naan champions, hands down. Though the spices are balanced, they do tend toward mild, so if you want it hot, order it super-hot. I eat here twice a month and I cannot account for the negative reviews here. Perhaps they’ve just hit on an off day or have something extremely specific in mind? One Unilocaler complained that the owner’s kids were in the restaurant. I’ve seen the kids there once, sitting in the back, doing their homework — but how is that a bad thing? Visit a big city like NYC or Chicago — the whole family is in the restaurant. Good places aren’t supposed to be corporations like The Olive Garden.

We arrived and the place was dead, not that this is a bad thing, we actually love places like this, we like being the only people in the restaurant. We started with the Lamb and Peas Samosa’s, great flavor, just what we expected, a little on the greasy side, but that’s what these guys are! Would order these again, many times over! Yum! Dinner we had the Lamb Kebab and Lamb Curry. The Kebab came out on a hot dish, still sizzling which was pretty cool, however this overcooked the meat. If I had known this, I would have taken all the meat off right away. It also came with a few slices of green bell peppers and onions… when I say few, I mean like 5 thin julienne slices of each, and a plate of rice. Since the meat was overcooked it had little to no flavor at this point, so we were disappointed. The Curry had great flavor and spice! We said next time we’ll just get the curry and a second order of those yummy Samosa’s! They have those down pat! Mmmmm, my mouth is watering just thinking about them.

Ordered the Murgh Tikka from the Tandor section of the menu. It came sizzling to the table and combined the famous red hue with a balance of spices. I chose this option due to my preference for white meat. A tad crisped on the outside, nice and moist on the inside. The garlic naan was delicious, although it didn’t have much of a garlic kick. In fact, I picked up more of a cilantro taste.(Not a negative in my opinion because you really can’t go wrong with naan!) 2nd visit– the vegetable samosas are DELICIOUS. crunchy & flaky, not at all greasy. ideal seasoning to potato/pea ratio.

I’ve come here on several occasions and the food and service is very consistent. The buffet is mild enough for children as well as picky eaters(good for people who don’t eat Indian food often). The lamb meatballs are so moist and tender and the chicken curry has nice big chunks of tender dark meat in a perfect sauce. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and you have a wonderful view of the Catalina mountains! This is my go to Indian place in Tucson/Oro Valley!

Definitely a fan. Not only is this place close to my parents’ house, but it’s just a lovely place to eat. Now, I’ve only had the buffet, so I’m going to rate my experience on that. I’ve been here maybe half a dozen times, and I feel like the consistency is there. There are two things that I think are absolutely rave-worthy. The samosas are fantastic. Hands down best samosas I’ve ever had. They’re perfectly crispy on the outside with peas and potatoes and mouth-watering spices packed inside. Omg, I could die just thinking of them. Soooooo good. And then, their lamb meatballs are fantastic — I never find lamb meatballs at other Indian buffets, so this place is just going to be my staple for lamb meatballs. The service is great — they never let you go long without fresh water. The only reason why I removed a star from my rating is because of the price — it’s on the slightly more expensive side for an Indian buffet. Now, it’s also in Oro Valley, so I get it, but I’ve had equally delicious or better food at Indian buffets elsewhere for less money. I definitely recommend coming here, though. It’s a great experience!

Great lunch buffet. Everything we tried was very good– the garlic naan was fantastic. Love that they had samosas, not every Indian buffet I’ve been to always does. I tried the saag, chana masala, rice and samosas off the lunch buffet. Fesh and really good. My partner in crime had the lamb meatballs, chicken in tomato sauce; which tasted basically like chicken masala, and Aloo with peas. He loved all his and even had seconds. The service was great and drinks were filled regularly. I know we will return. The only complaint I have– it was in the 80’s today and it was cooler outside then in the restaurant. Maybe a little air would be nice.
