Stopped in for take-out lunch, seemed like a good sub place according to Unilocalers. The first thing I noticed was the«we don’t talk to cell phones» sign, indicating you should end your call before approaching the counter — LOVEIT! I ordered the daily special turkey sandwich, and then watched horrified as an older man with wet hands reached into a bucket and came out with turkey in his claws! Plop — right on the bread. No gloves, of course, and why the turkey bucket? Maybe there’s nothing wrong with having a turkey bucket, I don’t know. Maybe they clean it every morning, or twice a day, I just don’t know. But to say it looks unappealing is saying it nicely. I was so hungry I tried it anyway, and it just didn’t do it for me. Maybe it was psychological, I may just have a sub-conscience fear of turkey buckets or old, wet, man hands.

Consistently good! I’ve eaten here 4 times, mostly for dinner but once for lunch and the food was always what I expected. My favorite is the chicken salad 6 inch sub. The salad is made with chopped onion, celery, and it mayo. If you order it «all the way,» it’ll be served on white bread sub roll with mayo, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, and chicken salad piled high! I don’t know who thought banana peppers and chicken salad would be a good flavor combination but whoever it was, was a genius! I crave this sandwich! My second favorite item on the menu is the pepperoni pizza. The sauce is sweet and there’s so much cheese, it stretches a good few inches. The Greek salad is recommended for feta and meat lovers! Also, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, try the Baklava! I would recommend this deli to any and everyone!

Sure the sandwich is piled high with meat. So what. That does not mean it’s good. My ham was so tasteless I threw half of it away. No fries. Lots of potato salad and macaroni salad, if you want to take your taste buds back to 1970. The franchises have tastier sandwiches and sides, and I hate most franchise places. This place is living in the past. Also the counter person was just unpleasant. Outside seating only. No napkin dispenser so you get the three napkins they stuff in the bag. Drinks are from the refrigerator in bottles. Everything was so low rent, except the price of the food. So disappointed.

While visiting my bro-in-law in Ormond beach we had a craving for some subs. I always remember passing Larry’s Giant Subs and thought this would be a great place to go. Luckily I checked Unilocal!and found several reviews saying that Larry’s subs were not so Giant. In addition, they committed the cardinal carnivore sin — NOT A LOTOFMEAT. EEEKS! Disaster averted I searched for a place that served some heavy duty sandwiches. Lo and behold I found Wich Deli. The reviews talked about the mountains of meat and I knew I found my place. When we drove up I knew it was going to be good — A bit dive-y but it had been around for a LONG time. If they lasted this long amongst the chains of the world they had to be doing something right. I ordered a small Italian and I am lucky I did not order a large. The sub was absolutely STUFFED with delicious meat. I was very happy satisfied after eating it. I also tried a roast beef and turkey and it was awesome. Best part about this place is that subs are CHEAP. Each small sub was less than $ 8 and probably had more meat than 3 subway footlongs combined. Thanks Unilocal!for this awesome find. We will be regular visitors every time we go to Ormond.
