Cool locally owned café. The sauces are home made, the sides are home made, and the fried shrimp is the best I have ever had. It was lightly battered, butter flied, and the tail removed. Not soggy, greasy or anything. So, if you ever have the desire to indulge in fried food, this is the place to do it … it will be worth it. Even the apple sauce was homemade … and it was excellent as were the baked beans. I will say it was a lot of food. Then came the deserts … we split a banana pudding kind of thing and it was awesome. Not the nasty maragine topping, but a nice whipped cream that tasted like real whipped cream and not just foam. The view from the front windows is great. you can see the ocean, but not the beach(it is across from A1A. Get there early … like when it opens, because it quickly gets crowded and you will not be able to get a table with a view of the ocean. Great place and so glad we found it on Unilocal

What a delightful little café! I found it on Unilocal as I was traveling for business in the area, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The salad was fresh, seafood and side dishes were cooked perfectly, and my coffee and chocolate pie were a most delicious finish to the meal. I had broiled shrimp and scallops, and the seafood tasted fresh and high quality. The seafood shined through without a lot of heavy sauce or seasoning. I could tell a lot of locals eat there, and I’m jealous that I don’t have something like this by my house. Even if you go for dessert you will be very happy. I literally could not stop eating the chocolate pie. There is a view of the ocean just across A1A, which is nice for ambiance. Prices were good for the quality of the food.

I e loved this place from the start. They’ve had a few bumps in the road, but it’s always minor and fixed the next time. The owner Assed away about a year ago and although she was the glue of the family, they have done well without her. The food is still great, the service still exceptional and I hope they will continue to serve the area for many years to come.

Short wait for a table for two at 6:45 on a Tuesday evening. Don’t let the name«café» fool you, this place isn’t a diner or café — it’s a great restaurant. The Mahi with pineapple-mango salsa was perfectly prepared. Mashed potatoes and applesauce are homemade. Desserts as big as your head, made from scratch — chocolate cream pie and chocolate cake just like grandma used to make them. Two of us ate for $ 45, including a 20% tip for the great service. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Ormond By The Sea!

My family has been going to Betty’s since 2004 — it is our favorite dinner destination in the Daytona/ormond area. They have delicious fresh baked bread, crispy powdered sweet potato fries, and big juicy burgers and sandwiches. The lobster rolls are loaded with lobster and lots of menu items are New England influenced. Finally, make sure that you save room for dessert, the homemade cakes are out of this world and they never skimp on the portions.

Have been here twice, not disappointed. Great burgers, but the Shrimp Portifino is outstanding. Great service with beautiful ocean view.

In the words of my very picky boyfriend«OMG, I can’t believe how good everything was!!!» We ordered based on all the appetizing photos on Unilocal and dishes we saw as we sat waiting for our drinks. Seared Ahi tuna was Amazing! Clam chowder and famous fried shrimp are a must. Sides were grand as well– fettuccine Alfredo, grilled squash and fried onion rings! Amazing experience in a well known restaurant! So glad we came!

After a morning/early afternoon in St. Augustine, the wife and I decided to take a drive down to Ormond Beach specifically to try this place out. Why? Born in Mass, family from Cape Cod, so I know how hard it is to get real deal fried seafood Cape Cod style– Well, this place nails it– I ordered the Lobster Roll: This was the real deal– Wasn’t swimming in mayo– Just a touch. Also didn’t have funky spices like tarragon which overpowers what you’re looking to taste– Lobster meat. Plenty of it and they use the two-sided New England rolls that are buttered and grilled on both sides. Wife had the whole belly fried clam dinner with onion rings. The batter both were fried in was light and true to Cape Cod style fried seafood(think Seafood Sam’s). So good as was the homemade pie– Coconut and banana cream with macadamia nut crust. Needless to say, we won’t be eating again until tomorrow. So good we didn’t deduct a star for the 2 young girls of an off duty waitress bombing around the place or the 2 – 3 times servers who vacuumed the crumbs off the floor around the place while we ate(can’t that wait?)… Anyway, we think that was a one-time deal, so we let it slide. We’ll be back for sure to try some of the other items that looked interesting!

Thank ya-thank ya very much! While this is a quirky cute place with Elvis, angels, and hula girls – it’s the perfect place for a night out – We had the best time!!! Great view, fast service, and excellent food! The best clam strips I’ve ever had – biggest, cooked to perfection, clams I’ve ever had! I’ve been to dozens of seafood restaurants in the area(our deck, north turn, crabby joes, bonefish, the golden lion) and you won’t beat these clams! We ordered the full seafood platter with clams and the seafood cake appetizer! All of it was fan-friggin-tastic! The seafood cake will remind you of a crab cake only better-with big chunks of seafood and a horseradish dipping sauce! We also got the best(made in house) banana cream pie you’ll ever eat as well as the pineapple upside down cake which was moist and delicious! Our waitress was pregnant too but she was workin’ hard! Please don’t go visit them – I don’t want it to get busy-just go visit your captain d’s or red lobster! We will be back soon!

So many years later and I still crave the food at Betty’s. The scallops are no where near as large as they used to be, but they are still cooked perfectly. I can still taste the sea in every bite. And the firecracker sauce, why doesn’t anyone else try this stuff? I don’t know why it tastes so good, but it does. I order the firecracker chicken. I order the chicken strips tossed in the firecracker sauce. I dip my bread in the firecracker sauce. My mouth waters thinking about Jason’s(Betty’s son) concoction. I hope they stay open for years to come.

This place is incredible, the staff is more than friendly and the food is homemade, but the best part has to be the dessert, Please if you are near Daytona beach you must stop here for a really great experience. A must visit for sure. Este lugar es increíble, el personal es muy amigable y la comida es casera, pero la mejor parte es sin duda el postre, si estas cerca de Daytona Beach debes detenerte aquí ora una muy buena experiencia. Es un lugar para visitar

After reading some of the other reviews it would appear we came on the right night. Service was very good as was the food. It was a Saturday early evening(5PM or so). I ordered the full order of scallops(grilled) with onion rings and clam chowder. It was all very good. My wife ordered the half order of fried shrimp, my son ordered the half order of fried seafood platter, and my daughter ordered the chicken sandwich. Everyone loved the clam chowder, the onion rings and we each liked our meal. For desert my son ordered the banana cream pie and my daughter ordered some pumpkin /pecan crumble. We’ll be back for sure.
