I’m not sure what all the hype is about. Its not terrible, but its nothing great and certainly not a best kept secret in Orlando. Dave and Busters would be a better option.

With the excruciating hot summer months coming up, it seems everyone is looking for indoor entertainment. There’s bowling and the movies, but they get old quick. If you are looking for something different and fun, Whirly Ball is where it’s at. I came with team building trip, and we arrived with lots of competitive spirit. We had 4 teams of 4, and played a double elimination tournament. I believe you can have up to 5 players on a team normally. We sat in what looked like bumper cars, and while we steered these machines with one hand(my legs are still bruised from the handle, two weeks later, but that’s the price you pay for fierce competition) while you hold what looks like a lacrosse or jai alai basket with the other. The objective is to get the whiffle ball and hit the target on the basketball backboard. If you hit the right area the sensors will go off, and depending where you shot from, you get 2 or 3 points. But be careful, if you touch the ball with your hands or pull any dirty moves, like I may or may not have done, the other team earns points. Each game is 10 minutes, and the time flies by. This got a group of full grown adults super competitive and there was a lot of smack talk and the occasional cursing when the ball was stolen or the other team scored. It was intense. But so much fun! It took me most of the first game to really get the hang of steering the bumper cart, but I am a slow learner, lol. The staff was super helpful, made sure to clearly explain the rules and kept our spirits up. There is also a bar area and an arcade. Since we were a pre-booked group, we had drink tickets and a buffet set up for us. Typical bar spread, wings, sliders, and really tasty jalapeño mac n cheese. This would be great for both a kid or adult party. Can’t wait to go back!

Came in with a group of 8 recently and had such a great time. We planned to stay for an hour and ended up staying for 4 because no one wanted to leave!!! We played whirlyball, laser tag, arcade games and pool. Not to mention the food was great and the bartender made sure we had a fun time with some delicious drinks. This place offers so much more than just whirlyball and is a really unique way to spend a few hours with friends or family. Plan a trip here you won’t regret it!!!

Fun spot on I drive. Bartender CJ is phenomenal, great customer service and can put on a «fire» show. Shay was very helpful as well. Whirley ball is fun and they have plenty of other games like Lazer tag, bowling, video games, pool, air hockey. Check it out and enjoy

So much fun! This is a big draw if you have a lot of people to go with. Whitley Ball is basically a combination of lacrosse and basketball you play while driving bumper cars. It sounds complicated when you describe it like that, but it’s a blast! It’s about $ 8 per person to play a game and personally, I never feel satisfied with just one game. Kids under 18 can also play, but there is a height requirement of 52″ to participate. Oh, and they do make you sign a waiver to play, but if you follow their rules, I don’t really see how you can get injured. There is also an arcade section with basketball, shooting and driving games and a roller coaster simulator. They are currently in the process of changing their arcade system from tokens to credits that you load onto a card, but they’re having a lot of glitches with their system right now, so be weary of that. There is also a bar area where you can get food or beverages(and yes, they have those of the adult variety).

I planned a work team building event at the WhirlyDome and it was a big success. Setting up the team building event with Jenna was easy and friendly. I was coming with 12 people, so I rented the court for an hour and ordered a handful of appetizers for the group. When we arrived, we were the only people at the venue which made for pretty good service. The actual«sport» is really great for a team building event. It’s fun and has groups of people working together(in rather odd circumstances) towards a common goal. You can expect to play about 5 games in an hour. Although each game is 10 minutes, you’ll need some time to hear the rules and transition players between games. Renting the court for an hour was the best way to go. The only reason the experience doesn’t get 5 stars is because the court was not well maintained. There are areas where it is scuffed and your WhirlyBug may stall out and you need a «courtesy bump». If your main draw is your WhirlyBall court, I recommend that it is maintained properly with minimal issues. After our court rental, I had food ready for the team in the bar area. The food is mainly bar food– wings, chicken tenders, nachos, etc. They have pico and chips(the chips were especially good) and made vegan nachos(no cheese, not vegan cheese) upon request. Since we were the only guests, the bar service was good and food was delivered on time with a server available for me to order additional food. We didn’t venture out into many of the other arcade-type areas, but we did play air hockey and pool. The pool tables and equipment are poorly maintained, but they were free to use so we can’t complain much. If anybody is coming for the arcade section, you will be disappointed because it’s old and silly, but isn’t much to complain about if it’s just an added feature to WhirlyBall. Overall, this was a great team building location and event. If I came back, I would likely visit with a large group of people on off hours so we could get the court to ourselves. Joining a pick up game seems like less fun to me.

How does this place have a 4-star rating? I’m guessing tourists visit this place and are so excited to be on vacation that they have a blast no matter what they’re doing. I came with a few coworkers the other night and walked into a place that seems as if they haven’t had a single upgrade since the early 90’s. The driving«simulator» looked horrible, the half-sized bowling was a joke, the arcade consisted of two games, the WhirlyBall cars kept malfunctioning and the employees were nowhere to be found. Maybe we visited on an «off» night, but this place was not fun at all.

So fantastic! If you’ve never done this you should. & if you can get the Groupon its a good value… they might give you the deal at the ticket counter if you ask. It’s $ 26 for 4 games and two well drinks/draft beers. I highly recommend not wearing short shorts, as you’ll end up either showing off your goods or badly bruising your knees with your steering stick trying to keep it modest. The bartender was questionable but overall great time!

What a blast! My family had our ladies day there is past Saturday. We all purchased Groupons online which was definitely the way to go because you received drink coupons too. Whirly Ball was soooo fun and addicting! I’m definitely hooked and plan on going back for more. The laser tag was super fun too. Even had a great bartender that performed bar tricks and made some yummy drinks. All around, great experience! Give it a chance if you haven’t!

Between bars, bowling alleys and themed restaurants, a different sort of entertainment can be found on I-Drive — WhirlyBall. Unlike any other sport in town, WhirlyBall is best described as a combination of basketball and hockey while riding an a machine, similar to a bumper car, called a WhirlyBug. A team sport, this hybrid game involves a bit of skill and hand-eye coordination — neither of which I have, but driving that WhirlyBug sure is fun. To play, teams toss around a softball sized whiffle ball and at each end of the court, there are backboards where you aim to score. We played with some regulars during our visit and had so much fun driving around on the court that we almost forgot about scoring. Off the court is a full restaurant and bar, Bloodhound Brew Pub & Eatery, filled with a number of dishes and a full bar with craft beers on tap. Oh and there’s also a drink that lights on fire! After ordering drinks, we grabbed a bite to fuel up for WhirlyDome. Bloodhound Burger($ 12): Chargrilled burger topped with jalapeño mac and cheese, Havarti cheese and crispy bacon all finished with pineapple BBQ sauce. A mac and cheese burger is one thing, but the jalapeños and pineapple flavor added a new twist we’ve yet to see! Street Tacos($ 10): Flour tortillas topped with your choice of chicken, pork or steak marinated in chimichurri sauce and topped with shredded cabbage, salsa, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. A surprisingly fresh and flavorful dish — perfect for a pre-game meal. If you’re looking for entertainment beyond those escape rooms and ice bars, head to WhirlyDome for WhirlyBall, laster tag, bowling and more!

Very fun little place to take your friends. The bartender is great and the drink prices are also right. Whirlyball is fun, but better for groups. Laser tag is a bunch of fun, and wore me out in the ten minute game we had. There is also a formula 1 simulator which is pretty fun, bowling, and a small arcade. I plan on going back with a larger group soon.

We had a business team-building event at the Whirly Dome and it was excellent. The staff was eager to please and the event was well managed in really fun. I would recommend this as a great venue for team building events for other companies. Well done to the team that is assisted us.

So I had never even heard of the Whirly Dome until I was invited for a birthday party. I’ll starter with the good: We did a group reservation, so for only $ 10 per person, we got to play 6 games which was great. We also had lots of fun playing we started with a group of 10, and played a few matches of 3 on 3. 3v3 was definitely the way to go. Also, the food was pretty good. The bad: The service was not very good. We walked in, and there were 4 people standing at the front, and none of them bothered to greet us or ask what we were doing. When we got seated, our waiter was trying to show off by not writing down our orders, but he kept messing them up. First he brought out the wrong drink, then messed up one of our dinner orders. Then, we had fun playing whirlyball, but the AC wasn’t working. So we were all sweating pretty bad. We also checked out their arcade. Some if the games were fun, but their bowling lane was out, and it takes up a pretty huge portion of the space. Not sure how you let that go un-repaired for any period of time. If I were to go again, I would just do the group order, and play ball with a group. Don’t bother with the food or arcade.

I had heard good things about this place, and we were celebrating my brother’s birthday, so we headed up to the Whirly Dome. I had no idea going in that it was much more than the game itself, but they had a modest arcade, laser tag, and a bar all connected. We signed our lives away with waivers, and entered into the dome. The game itself is rather simple, scoop that ball up in your basket while you drive a bumper car, and try to throw it at the scoring target. With friends and people you know, it can be a blast. If you have others join you, they might not be keen on passing to you as much, and it can make for an awkward game. While I loved the game, the vehicles themselves could really use some help. In our first game, we were instructed to bump a person’s car when they couldn’t move to get them rolling again. I had this happen to me, and watched helplessly as the other team scored. Through the course of two games, we saw four cars fail. They ended up shutting it down for 30 minutes and fixed them up, but from talking with employees, this happens frequently. It is a shame, as if all carts were equal and working, it would be tons of fun. Once fixed, they worked well again, but I’m sure it would be back to breaking down before long. Overall, I’d give the place a solid 4 stars if they could rectify this issue.

Not going to lie, when my cousin Kathy D. first told me about Whirly Dome I was super excited! Indoor bumper cars with sticks and a wiffle ball, sign me up pronto! My group met up to celebrate a graduation. We started off at the restaurant side for dinner and drinks. The drinks and shots were reasonably priced for I-Drive. Luckily for my group we came early enough to beat the Friday crowd. We were able to jump onto the whirly ball court without a wait. For those that bruise easy, wear some pants. Whirly ball is so much fun when you’re actually playing! If your whole group is 8 or more people then consider the following: 1) Spring for the full hour of play time. 10 minutes goes by really fast when you are playing with friends. 2) Keep track of your own score. There were times when we scored, but it wasn’t recognized. 3) Don’t be afraid to tell the operator to pause the clock. The bumper cars malfunctioned and the wiffle ball sometimes gets thrown into hard to reach spots. 4) Ladies, leave your purses with someone not playing. There’s really no place to put your bags unless you leave it behind the closed employee doors. Some games were limited and dated here. I thought it was peculiar that 2 identical games were side by side each other, yet the machine on the right was 1 token more. Also, bathrooms in the back were extremely warm, kind of like the AC was cut off. Come for the activities, but save your money on the video games.

Located off of I-Drive, Whirly Dome is a pretty fun place to go with some friends or even with the company as a teambuilding outing. I went with some family and friends and had a blast. Basically it’s like playing lacross with bumper cars and basketball nets without the nets for goals. It takes a lot of strategy and team work to win… and some aggressive maneuvering of the bumper cars. I’d do it again

My best friend was having a bit of an off night, and I was determined to cheer him up. I was trying to think outside of the box on how to take his mind off of things, and then it hit me — LASERTAG.. .but where at? The only location I’ve ever been to play Laser Tag at in Orlando was Wonder Works, and quite frankly — it was terrible! I jumped on Unilocal, and was reminded of the new Whirly Dome on I-Drive. When we arrived, it was a ghost town. Granted, it was a Wednesday night in January; however, it felt a little strange walking into a tourist attraction with barely anybody there. There was a table with greeters standing behind us, and they did welcome us with a smile, but they didn’t really offer us anything(tickets, tokens, etc.) We saw a sign that said«Laser Tag Upstairs» — so we followed the signage and our party of three ended up completely alone on the second floor. A sign said«Wait Here for Laser Tag attendant» and we waited for about 5 minutes, luckily, a gentleman walked out and greeted us at that point, as we were about to turn around and leave. We learned that we had to purchase laser tag tickets downstairs with the greeters, so we trekked downstairs, paid our $ 8 each, and went back upstairs for our adventure. We received our vests and guns, suited up, listened to the rules, and entered the Ocean Quest arena(themed to being under the sea, lots of fog effects, sharks, and other sea life). This laser tag was MUCH better than Wonder Works, and it reminded me of the places I used to go to in High School back in Fort Lauderdale. Even though it was just the three of us playing, we had an absolute blast, and all three of us agreed we’d go back again in a heartbeat. After our game, we explored the rest of the building — there was a large party playing Whirly Ball, and everyone looked like they were having a good time. There’s a small bowling section, arcade, restaurant/bar, and a spot called«Laser Frenzy» Laser Frenzy was the only other activity that we partook in, and it was hysterical! We felt like we were in an action movie like Mission Impossible trying to navigate through the lasers without triggering the alarm.($ 3 a game) All in all, we will definitely be back — but with a larger group to partake in more of the activities.

This place just open not too long ago right on I-Drive. WhirlyDome has a little bowling section, a car simulation, a laser frenzy, arcade games and restaurant. The one that steal the show though is their whirly ball with two arenas, one on each floor. Whirly ball is a dangerous and competitive game. You are in a bumper car like vehicle, with you steering on one had, and holding a scooper(lacrosse like stick) in the other. The car is a little difficult to steer, until you get the hang of it. That’s where I got a lot of my battlewounds from, so definitely wear jeans! The goal of whirly ball is to capture the ball and hit the scoreboard of your team color. Its a fun game. Some parts that were difficult is grabbing the ball in front or in back of your car, and sometimes the ball can go under. You probably need to master your car before you become an expert at this game. The restaurant has a full bar. The menu seems limited to me. I tried their cuban sandwich with yuca fries. Wasn’t a fan of the yucca fries, but the cuban was not bad and it was pretty huge. The only issue was that we were a party of 20 and half of one side got there food first and was almost done before the other half even started. Also the bowling alley seemed to be broken, or no one who worked there knew how to fix it. =\ Still need to fix some kinks!
