Great night life! There’s entertainment, and multiple restaurants to choose from! You have sushi & burgers from The CowFish, Italian from Il Vivo, pizza from Red Oven, texmex from Margaritaville, cajun from Pat O’Briens, Amrican food from Hard Rock café, and more! Antojitos is not that great and food is extremely expensive… and you can finish your trip with a nice frozen yogurt from Menchies! You also have family friendly entertainment, like AMC movie theater, mini golf, and the Blue Man Group show.

I live in Orlando, Universal City is a must after you finish the parks. Parking is $ 5 for non residents Eat and drink at Margaritaville or any place you eat. I recommend going to Bob Marley if you want to relax and here Reggae, it’s $ 7 but if u want to try all the clubs pay the all night pass. Movies complex is very nice too.

It’s basically like a downtown. There’s always a lot of activity and there are more stores than the average mortal could do in one day. Between the super wide walkway and the nice FL heat, it’s a both stimulating and relaxing. Worth going to even if you have no desire to go to Universal.

Very touristy, as expected. Still fun to walk through once. City walk leads to both Universal Theme Parks(Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida). Mostly chain restaurants here, some shops, nightclubs on the upper level. The path also leads to the World’s Largest Hard Rock, Blue Man Box office, karaōke place, and a movie theater. Think open-air chain shopping mall(with Universal looming over it all.)

There are many great restaurants to choose from. There is shopping and movies. Specialty stores and desert places. There are also great bars and an active nightlife. Very clean streets. You can hang out here once you leave the parks or even just come for a few hours to eat and drink and people watch.

Universal CityWalk is a fun place to spend a few hours. The parking fees are sort of crazy if you get there first thing in the morning but after 6pm it’s 5 dollars which is more than reasonable. If you’re a FL resident I think it’s free at that point. There’s a lot of choices for places to eat, drink as well as having some nice views of both park entrances. Yes, you can have fun here without having to actually pay to enter either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure. The parks both seem to close early so it probably makes sense to show up after 6pm for the affordable parking and before the parks close which is maybe 8pm? As far as places to eat and drink there’s so many choices including non bar type places closer to the AMC. There are a few stores as well. It may be the Loews resorts that have passenger boats that will drop people off near the NBC Brew place opposite the Hard Rock. AMC has a 20 theater complex and we also ended up watching a movie after we had dinner at Cowfish. Several years ago after we done with the parks we ended up going to CityWalk afterwards for dinner and a bit of lights sounds.

Security has really been bulked up here so be prepared to have your bag checked and walk through a metal detector. Once you’re through the gates you’ll find plenty of restaurant and shopping options. Monday seems to be the best day to go as far as tourist traffic. Escalators/elevators/stairs/and moving walk ways are available before entering the actual city walk area.

Being adults visiting Orlando, we were trying to pick the right things and not get caught up in a lot of things geared toward kids. We did not visit either Universal park, but we did spend a day at CityWalk. You have to pay for parking, and you have to park where everyone who is going into the parks is parking. It wasn’t a terribly busy day because we were a little off season(there is no real off season here) but we still paid the extra $ 10 for preferred parking($ 30 total). It was worth it for us as pretty much anything you do involves quite a bit of walking. There is no entrance fee for CityWalk. Über would have been about $ 19 each way from our resort so we just decided to drive. When we got there we decided to putt putt golf at Hollywood Drive In Course. We did the Sci-Fi course first and had so much fun we went and added on the 2nd course to come back and do later in the evening. After walking the relatively short distance from one side to the other to survey and plan, we ended up first at Cowfish Sushi and Burger Bar. Lovely restaurant on the 2nd level with covered outdoor seating where you can watch passersby. Shopped and walked through the Universal store and visited NBC Sports Bar and Grill. Nice place and HUGE. I had a chicken pot pie that was enormous and delicious. For happy hour, we landed at Emeril’s where we tried both of the soups that they had that day. One was Italian wedding soup and one was a tomato based white bean soup. Both were good. As we happy houred, they closed down part of the CityWalk for a private event. We watched them set up this event encompassing Antojitos, The Groove, and The Hot dog Hall of Fame as well as all of the Promenade where they set up a big red carpet reception area. It was quite something to watch, but consequently we did not get to experience any of those places. As it started to get later, we went back and played the horror movie side of the Hollywood Drive In Golf and once the sun started going down and the lights came on, we sat at Red Oven Italian restaurant and watched as busload after busload of people coming to the event arrived and droves and droves of people filtered out of the parks. All in all, we had a lovely time and didn’t regret one bit not spending the money or time to go into one of the parks. We enjoyed this day just as much as we enjoyed Epcot.

Universal’s CityWalk is a great place if you love touristy types of places. They have plenty of shops and restaurants here, so if you are looking for some place to dine, this is a great place. The only problem is of course; CityWalk is way too crowded. Transportation here is quite simple, just walk, drive and park or take a taxi here. As you come into the area, you will be screened like an airport and then ride a long escalator as if you were inside an airport. If you dislike crowds, avoid this place, otherwise, I’d recommend it if you need something to do. [Review #375](21st Review of 2016)

Universal CityWalk offers up plenty of action during the day and night. There is shopping, dining, and entertainment. You can also find kiosks full of Universal merchandise if you don’t want to go into the resort. There is a wide variety of dining establishments at various price points. Think Burger King to Emeril’s. Some places have outdoor seating which is great for people watching and enjoying the fine weather. The place is really beautiful at night with the water and lights. On my first visit, my brother and I tried out Hard Rock. At the most recent visit, I tried out the miniature golf course and Panda Express. You can see my reviews on those specific places.

I enjoyed a stroll through here the two nights I was at Universal. Lighted beautifully at night it gives off a magical feeling as you’re leaving the park. There is a beautiful waterway in between the two parks and the City Walk and at night it’s really lovely. It’s filled full of great shopping and lots of nice restaurants in case theme park food isn’t your thing. I didn’t do much shopping but there are great stores at your convenience. I had a tough time choosing where to eat because so many places sounded good. You can literally get just about anything from sushi to Italian to a quick and juicy burger. I ate at Vivo the Italian restaurant and it was great. There are a lot of restaurants that offer gluten free options so finding a gf meal is a cinch. There are busses you can take or you can grab a taxi or Über. Either way, the walk from the dropoff isn’t very far. If you’re going to Universal, I definitely recommend taking a little time to check out this fun area, especially at night.

If i was a guy and lived in Orlando, I would definitely take a date here! It has everything! plus there is no entrance fee! Come at night after 9pm. It is way prettier and cooler. So many restaurants and shops. The nightlife is poppin here! Great place to just come and chill and take a walk and people watch too!

I’ve been coming here for years now and I always find this place fascinating. It offers clubs, restaurants, various shops, good treats, AMC Theatre, Blue Man Group, Hard Rock Live, and a lot of great business along with the entrances to the theme parks. I think this Citywalk is fine overall, but not as great as the one in California. It does not offer all the great amounts like California. I feel there is something here for almost everyone though. Great deals on alcohol drinks like Fat Tuesday. Wonderful ice cream treats. Starbucks in located here. I suggest coming here for a friend’s night out, family time, a date night, or a single night out for fun. There is also a putt-putt course here that is worth checking out. Right now Florida residents can get in FREE after 6pm with their FL resident ID. If you are not coming here for the theme parks in the day, I would suggest coming in after 6pm for a better parking deal. Sadly, no businesses here will validate parking. So you will pay for parking even if you are having dinner, seeing a movie, or want to play putt-putt.

This place is so cool. Were from Philadelphia so we did the tourist thing and hit this up. Were so glad we did, we had a ball. Parking was convenient and was only $ 5.00. When we first got there we grabbed a few beers, a bit pricey but hey it’s the tourist spot. $ 17.00 for 2 miller lite, yep! They were nice a cold. We walked around for a bit then had dinner at Jimmy Buffett’s place. After dinner we stop at Pat O’briens pub, and finally Cold stone. Afterwards we walked around some more. All in all we were happy with the entire experience. It was a chance to get away from the resort and do something different.

I love CityWalk. Parking is free for Florida residents in the evening. There is no admission and it is a joy just to walk around the area and people watch. There is so much to do! Mini golf, watch a movie, grab a bite, have a drink, take a ferry, dance, karaōke, shop, or watch a concert/show! If you’ve never been, you have to go! Avoid The Whopper Bar.

Keep in mind this is the area right outside Universal Studios and Island of Adventure, so if you have kids who might cry wanting to go inside to see Harry Potter stuff they will be disappointed if your only taking them to the City Walk. I’m speaking from personal experience, last time we took my nieces to Disney World they cried when they only went to the City Walk instead of visiting Harry Potter inside. Bad mistake, next time Island of Adventure for them! I personally like Universal City Walk. Specially, if we aren’t going inside the theme parks but want something to do in Orlando this is a great idea. There are a tons of shops, restaurants, and even a movie cinema. Some things which are not so great: paying for parking, it’s always crowded, and some things to buy might seem overpriced. All in all, if your in Orlando for a few days and didn’t go to theme parks other than Disney World /Epcot etc, this is a nice area to visit.

Love being able to check out so many restaurants and shops in one area. It’s really convenient that it is also the entrance to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. We got to check the place out on walking in to the amusement park and then for dinner we decided to head back to one of the best restaurants we tried during our stay. As much as we liked coming here, it is still annoying to have to pay for parking. At least when we went for dinner, we only had to pay $ 5 since the parks were already closed. Another plus is that the whole CityWalk area stays open late until about 2am.

Even though you need to pay for parking, city walk is alive with lights and activity… many good places to grab a bite and a drink like the largest hard rock or margaritaville. The moving walkways make it a breeze getting in and out of the area, great job universal!

If you’re coming to check out the nightlife, do yourself a favor and get the Party Pass. It costs $ 7 to get into each club/venue. For $ 12 you get access to all of them. For an additional $ 4 you can add a movie at a nice theater. You can’t beat this deal. Florida residents also get free parking after a certain hour. This is a good place to come if you don’t know exactly what to do for any given evening. There’s food, shopping, mini golf– plenty to choose from. The clubs are decent. it’s nice to be able to flow freely between them with the Pass. That way if one is dead, I just stroll over to another.

Super touristy to the max. That’s okay because I must experience all that everything has to offer. This is totally an entertainment area. It’s the first section that you walk through to get to the Universal Studio Parks. You don’t have to go to the parks. You can hang out here. There is a lot to see & do. The worse part, yes, there is one, maybe two or three, but mainly if anything $ 17 parking is like a big booger stuck on your face when you are taking a picture. Ewwww! Yes that painful and embarrassing. Other than that, wipe off the booger, and check out the attractions. Have some grub dub and some drinks. There are options. Lots of them, very diverse and universal. Margaritavile, an Italian place, a Mexican place, a sports place, cheaper options like Panda Express, Moes, frozen yogurt. You name it, it is there. There are also clubs and bars, shopping, bands, Blue Man Group, picturesque opportunities, a movie theater and mini golf. That’s a mouthful. There’s lots of stuff here so don’t be a bum, just have fun!
