We went for happy hour. We tried the fish roll, the chicken roll and the cheese wontons(which have mean in them too). Very good and our dinner was all of $ 12. Beer and sake are available. I loved it but my daughter thought they had a little too much cream cheese in them so if you’re not a huge fan of it you might ask for light cream cheese.

U Roll made me wish I liked sushi. My son wanted to make a stop before our Sam’s trip. He a a U Roll card and was close to getting a free roll. I walked in to sparsely decorated but super clean space. The area that is used for ordering, rolling etc was super clean. The brightly colored menu was visible and easier to read. They had a ton of variety of both raw and In addition to the cooked and raw rolls, there are also appetizer and bowl options. Some alcohol is available. Your roll is made to order in front of you. I had a spring roll that was fried and made in the back. Very tasty & crispy. U Roll, U get a solid B from a non raw sushi eating customer. Roll On!

This place is amazing. Unique concept of letting you create and design your own rolls and well as sushi bowls. Ingredients are always fresh and delicious and they have specialty sauces like Fuji Lime you can’t find anywhere else. Their rolls options are out of this world and no matter what you get, when you taste it you’re are sure to close your eyes and say«Mmmm!» Did I mention the prices are great? They also have happy hour, lunch specials, and customer loyalty cards. The sushi artists are also so nice! If you live sushi like me, look no further than U Roll

I was looking for some healthy sushi and decided to drop in and try this place. I ordered a bowl with three different types of fish(tuna, salmon, and escolar) with brown rice and cucumber. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I will likely be back twice a week to satisfy my sushi cravings! The one thing that kept it from that elusive fifth star was that i’ve received larger portions in sushi bowls before, but I WAS trying to find something healthy and not over-eat, so the medium-sized portion was good. PS the sushi chef was very nice and helpful and handled the food with care, it was almost too pretty to eat.

Love this place! I came across the Goldenrod location. Creative concept, generous portions while many other places try to rip you off, fair prices, nice ambiance, the sushi chef was kind and meticulous in his creations… Definitely impressive! You guys need a another location in College Park! Goldenrod Is lucky to have you! I’ll be back when I can.

Within the past few months I’ve been to U Roll a few times and honestly I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’ve been meaning to give them a good review on here but whenever I want to take pictures of my food I somehow manage to inhale it before hand. But that’s a good thing right? I’ve been to both locations and the staff is always very friendly and they remember me now since I come in so frequently, the food is awesome and the restaurant is always super clean and nicely kept. Not to mention quality sushi for an affordable price. They even give these little punch cards that for every 5 rolls one is free. I really love the that you can choose the individual items you want in your sushi roll(if you choose to go with the make your own option) Whenever I explain this place I compare it to how at chipotle you pick out everything you want in your burrito, but instead of being a burrito you pick out everything you want in your sushi roll. My go to make your own roll(pictured) is always double tuna, cream cheese and mango. Fried with wonton strips and lots of eel and white garlic mayo.(I call it the Khaleesi roll lol) it’s amazing, my boyfriend gets it every time we go as well. I’ve also tried the miso soup and the gyoza which I love. Sushi lovers you have to try this place you will not regret it.

I’m giving U-Roll sushi 5-stars for their concept, quality, and friendly service. As first-timers to a make-your-own sushi joint, we were a little overwhelmed. The sushi chef was very patient and helpful with us. He even gave me a few at home pointers for making my own sushi. We ordered the Bangkok spice roll, sunshine roll, and did a make your own. Our friend got a rice bowl and wontons. Everything was fresh and filling! I highly recommend this place U-Roll if you’re in the mood for something new.

Very friendly service! The local is very nicely decorated, and very clean. The food presentation is very colorful and well placed. The flavor was amazing, I had the Caribbean sushi roll and the flavor was sweet and spicy. The sweet was citrus like so it made perfect sense. Price is very talentless fresh sushi, it’s around 8 dollars a roll. They also have happy hour, lunch specials, and a punch card! I’ve been looking for a sushi place ever since I moved to this side of town and I must say, I finally found it! I love this place and will continue to come here all the time!

We like this place! It was very quiet when we got in but picked up around 2pm. First of all– Good price for the amount of food! Their lunch special: two rolls for $ 10 can’t be beat. We played it safe and got the Kill Bill, Titanic, The Matrix, Amelie — fun names right? The rolls were good quality and skillfully rolled right in front of us. Next time we’ll make our own. For dessert we got the fried banana. Served piping hot and drizzled with chocolate and sesame seeds. The only thing to make it better would be a scoop of cold ice cream. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience and we would come back.

This is my third time at this location and I have to give them s good review! The food is always fresh and tasty. I explained to the chef that I don’t eat shellfish, so he went out of his way to make suggestions for rolls and hot foods I could eat, talk about excellent service! While he was making one of the rolls, a fly landed on one piece of sushi. He said he would take care of it(I thought he would just throw out the one piece), he made me an additional roll to add to the remaining pieces! This place is a MUST if your looking for quality sushi fast. If the good doesn’t hook you, the level of service will!

Great Sushi! Staff was very friendly and helpful when we were ordering. I would suggest trying either the fried cheesecake or the mochi ice cream, delicious! Definitely try this place out! A new twist on sushi but it works out well!

What an incredible sushi place! We happened to see their 1 year anniversary Buy One Get One special today! We were blown away. To speak to each roll is an understatement because we actually bought each of the cooked and raw specialty rolls– 12 in total. Three Sushi Chefs smiled at our order and politely obliged. They were happy to have us there and it showed in their art rolls. The fish was fresh and each roll was just how needed to be – balanced tastes with the perfect amount of sauce as topping. We didn’t need any extra sauce and definitely did not need any soy sauce! Top Five Rolls Based on Flavor: #1 Mango Crunch– the mango inside and the Hawaiian mango sauce were so refreshing in a roll! #2 Pina Colada de Roll– Basically Coconut Shrimp — This was a special roll and it was on pointe. Another slightly sweet but really refreshing and the toasted coconut on top was spot on. #3 Fire Dragon– this one is slightly spicy with the right balance of flavor so that it isn’t just raw heat. I loved the kimchee sauce on the top. The roll has asparagus in and WOW it was awesome! #4 Bankok Spice– while I don’t eat chicken I had one of the rolls that had a small amount of chicken in and picked it out. The Thai curry sauce on top was so delicious that I had to try the roll. You could do this roll with the bbq tuna– and I just might next time! #5 Fin Fanatic– I thought this was going to be number 1– it slid down due to the lack of toppings to really finish the roll. It was still delicious and I loved the white garlic mayo sauce on top. This was one of the few rolls without cream cheese so I had my vote! Don’t let the lack of party toppings deceive you– it’s still awesome! So there you have the top five. Again we tried all 12 of them — well I tried 10 of the 12– there are three with chicken. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a premium roll at an affordable cost!!! All rolls were simply delicious and you really can’t go wrong!!!

Okay, so I would love to have given this place 5 Stars. However, after the chef tossed my rolls in the fryer, then he rang me up with his gloves on. He, obviously, touched the money and the register. Next, he went in the back, brought out my rolls and finished it up with the same gloves on. That was a major disappointment and a health code violation. I added spicy mayo on top of my roll. It definitely was not spicy, which saddened me a bit. Other than that, the presentation was nice, restaurant was clean, friendly staff, and nice prices.

Excellent ambiance, super friendly staff. I Love how they make recommendations and help you understand their menu always giving you options. Excellent entrees as well. I love how they have other options besides sushi. They have a rewards program, that I already used towards out dinner today. Their prices are superb. This is my second time and I definitely will keep coming.

This place is great! We have been here more than a few times now, and the sushi is always fresh and tasty. The staff is very friendly. They are willing to make recommendations as well as answer any questions you might have about how they prepare their food. Overall, we really enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Helpful tips: don’t stray away from the kiosk at the Artegon mall. It is just as clean and fresh. Also make sure you get the card. After five rolls or bowls you get one basic $ 6 roll for free… Or if your roll is a little more than that, then you just pay the difference.

Fast, friendly, and fresh. The sushi bowl is my favorite I usually get spicy tuna witch cucumber and carrot. They give you plenty if your hungry go for 2 proteins and 2 fillings(veggies) for $ 7. I like to double up on spicy tuna or salmon. It is like the chipotle for sushi. You can create your own bowl or roll there is a brown rice option. There are so many sauces and combinations you can make. Eel sauce & mango is surprisingly good. If you order a kitchen entrée it may take maybe 5 minutes longer than sushi. I’ve had the the chicken fried rice it had great flavor but I don’t like baby corn and the pad Thai and soba noodles are just ok to me. Give it a try. Take a crack at creating sushi! Right on colonial and goldenrod next to Burger King and sams club.

Caveat: When compared specifically to other DIY sushi format restaurants in the area that I’ve been to, this might rate a little higher. I try to avoid these types of sushi restaurants as a general rule. The quality always suffers compared to more traditional restaurants, and one of my favorite parts of going for sushi is looking at the specialty rolls designed by the chef and finding those unique gems that no one else in town does. I want a sushi chef to be proud of his what he puts on a plate, and to have the freedom to get creative. Counter-service sushi is the antithesis of that, especially when the chef is forced to prepare whatever terrible concoction is dreamed up by the guy on the other side of the glass. That said, U Roll is definitely not the worst of the lot in the world of counter-service sushi. We came in and looked at the specialty rolls that they had on offer, and found one or two that seemed to suit our tastes(specifically: little or no fried stuff, and with the fish center stage). The Tuna Muchi roll sounded pretty good so we ordered that, and then each ordered a sushi bowl. We both enjoyed the roll. It tasted good and it managed to stay together, but it was loose and a little sloppy looking. It was also a bit light on the tuna for my tastes. We liked the sushi bowls as well(mine, pictured, was tuna, white tuna, salmon, and avocado on sushi rice with sesame seeds and masago). I wish there was a bit more to them. Bonus: They have a punchcard that gets one punch per roll or bowl, and after 5 punches you get a basic roll for free.
