Good food with large portions for breakfast. They also do a breakfast buffet for about $ 23pp. The organic egg frittata was delicious, made with eggs, sausage, boursin cheese, potatoes and onions.

Had breakfast here twice. The buffet is nice, with the omelet station and many choices for breads, fruits, meats etc. it’s a little expensive, but it seems all hotel restaurants are.

Great breakfast! Omelet station was excellent! The kids loved when they could make their own pancakes in the cool pancake machine. Really everything one could want for breakfast at a fairly reasonable price. We almost tried it for dinner one night but walked next door to Sals for brick oven pizza instead. Next time we’ll try dinner also and let you know what we think.

I had breakfast here twice. This is located at Portofino near Universal. The breakfast buffet was full of dishes to please and also unique ones… freshly smoked salmon was one of the options. They also had gluten free baked goods. They have a custom omelet station that can make ‘em how you like ‘em! The fresh fruit was fresh and sweet. The standard coffee was good, but lacking in fancy schmancy coffees, so don’t expect those. All in all, if I am at Portofino again, I will be sure to stop by there.

Ate here Saturday night, and it was so disappointing. Slow to nonexistent service. Drinks never refilled. Forgot to bring the kids drinks. Waited over an hour for food. Burgers came out mushy. Now we feel sick. Gross gross and more gross– never again! Ruins the entire hotel experience!

Overpriced and poor service. Wait at pasta bar was long and hampered by poor equipment, lack of help and overworked cook. Plenty of staff to clean up, move you out and take money. Very poor choice among many overpriced hotel dining spots. Bacolod this.

What a rip! This is institutional food at fine dining prices. Take a pass — no matter what anyone else says. Brown bag lunches would taste better — and don’t be fooled by the photo op with Universal theme park characters. The only saving grace was dessert(decent sorbet, cakes and crème brûlée) — hence two stars — Otherwise a 1 star experience.

I would give you a review but never even got into the restaurant. My girlfriend made a reservation on opentables and when we showed up, the restaurant was closed. 7pm on a Monday night where, universal’s website and lowe’s website all say that it’s open. Concierge said it wasn’t the first time that this has happened.

Poor service. No one smiles but quick to give you the bill. Kept asking the server to remove the dirty dishes off the table and it was like I was asking her to kill a cow. Do your job kindly. I really don’t want to sit at a table with our dirt eaten buffet dishes if you don’t mind. And don’t get all huffy puffy when you get a lousy tip. I come here for service, a smile and the food so please don’t act like you are doing me a favour. I’m paying for my service. Thank you very much. Now enjoy the lousy tip I gave you and next time put that smile on your face and pretend you really like your job in service and kindly clean away our dirty dishes from our small table.

I went back and forth a bit about whether Trattoria was 2 or 3 stars, and finally landed on 2. Trattoria is the only restaurant at the hotel that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We only had dinner here, so my review is based on that. The ambiance is really better suited to a breakfast buffet rather than a mid-priced dinner service. As far as atmosphere is concerned, I’d give it 1 star. It’s very generic and open, much like a typical breakfast buffet at a Drury Inn. Prices are about $ 30 an entrée and $ 10 for a salad, which isn’t exactly in line with the pasta/salad buffet in the middle of the room with precooked noodles and prepared sauces. The server aggressively pushed the buffet, which we were not interested in. The food we ordered off the menu was 2 or 3 stars. The fresh mozzarella salad was okay, not great. Same with the wedge salad. My husband liked his steak but the potatoes on the side seemed to have been frozen or leftover and reheated. My pasta entrée was okay. Short story… Go to Mama Dellas next door. You will spend about the same and the food and ambiance will be far better.

This restaurant is one of a few Italian places in the piazza at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Studios. The menu is small but focused and basically offers two choices: some kind of steak or brisket cooked in a myriad of ways or a do-it yourself pasta bar. We all elected for the pasta bar. The pasta bar option gives you a soup and access to a small salad bar with two types of dressing(ranch and some kind of balsamic vinaigrette). The pasta bar gives you the choice of various veggies(artichoke hearts, broccoli etc.), meats(meatballs, sausage, chicken, shrimp) and four sauce options(pesto, marinara, alfredo & vodka). It’s all cooked in front of you by a chef. While fresh, this method takes forever. Our party of five ate in staggered order and by the time my food was done, my son had finished his dinner. The flavors were decent and nothing to write home or complain about. At $ 25 bucks a head, its a bit pricey but again, you’re in a hotel resort so it’s not unexpected. It’s not a bad choice if you like to customize your pasta.

Had breakfast buffet here this morning was a typical breakfast buffet with cool station. We had fresh squeezed orange juice but it was warm probably sitting out all morning so I just drank water. Besides the fresh madeggs I ordered the only warm thing was sausage everything else wasn’t close to warm. Our server must have been a phantom because I must’ve seen him only 3 times seating, bringing warm OJ, and me coming back with food to sit down discovering the check on the table. We had one comped breakfast buffet which we presented before hand. Was decent for a breakfast for champions in a hurry.

This is one of the on site restaurants in the Loews Hotel. Located near the water and the two parked Vespas outside, I found it hard to find as the signage was on the awning, and kinda hidden. They accommodated a large family breakfast on a Sunday morning. The waiter was attentive and offered coffee, and the fresh squeezed OJ I read on Unilocal. I also saw a little girl get a hot chocolate with whipped cream, it looked good. Grab a plate and have your choice of — bicuits and grits, bacon, sausage, wet scrambled eggs, undercooked hash browns, waffles, French toast that was heavy on the cinnamon. Press a button and two little pancakes will cook fresh for you. Breads and options to toast, croissants and pastries. –There was also a fresh smoked salmon station that had the whole salmon to be flaked off on to your plate with the onions, Capers, sliced tomatoes offerings. This table also had assorted yogurts and whole fruit like apples, oranges. — An omelet station that had two chefs working together to make the line go by quickly. You can have whole eggs cooked how you like, or omelet or egg white omelet and choices of spinach, cooked mushrooms, onions, bacon, mozzarella and cheddar cheese. These guys are not stingy on the toppings, my egg white was packed of cheese and bacon, I know it sounds great but I like more eggs in my omelette, so next time I’ll ask them to go light. Such an oxymoron for my order… — A fruit parfait and fruit station. They had cut fruit and yogurt in martini glasses. There was none left by the time I got around to fruit, but if I really wanted I’m sure I could ask the waiter. The cut fruit was ripe and tasty –cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, strawberries even though it’s out of season. –There was a cereal bar with mini cereal choices and milk. The service was great, they seemed happy to serve, like Disney. The food wasn’t kept hot with the lights, but if you catch the fresh food coming out to replenish the buffet, it seemed much better. I recommend the make your own pancakes, fresh fruit, everything else was average. ** They validate parking here valet or garage(we paid garage ahead of time)

Breakfast buffet or menu option. Prices may vary but i was told breakfast buffet is 21.99 $ for adults and 12 $ for kids 9 and under… My party felt the need to all want buffet, why??? i understand if you want to eat 2nds or 3rds and you really do eat more than one serving but if you dont i feel its a big waste of money. I asked for the menu because its not the bellagio in vegas. I ordered the sundried tomato wrap with scrambled eggs and cheese and i opted to leave the sausage out, for 13 $. it was very filling and i did not eat all of it. The waiter goes to the same lady making the eggs in the buffet line and makes my eggs. Rest of my party got a couple things like fruit and toast, another person got some scrambled eggs, a pastry, and toast and someone else got some lox. No one served themselves over the top huge portions and no one went back for seconds. I think its a waste of money to go to the buffet and i would stick to the ala carte menu.

Nothing like a good old Italian buffet to lighten the spirit. Came here for breakfast and dinner. Dinner was really good and seating in the outside patio while enjoying a cool fall central Florida evening just made it a very special experience. The service is attentive and the pasta made to order at the chef’s station is pretty darn good. Trattoria del Porto earns four solid stars for good service, good food and good ambiance. Order that extra bottle of wine and feel free to linger, because life is good.

Trattoria del Porto is a restaurant within Loews Portofino Bay Hotel serving Italian Cuisine. They offer a breakfast buffet daily from 7:00am — 11:00am. It’s $ 19.50 for Adults and $ 10 for Kids ages 12 and under. Lunch and Dinner is also offered. However, the restaurant is closed for dinner every Tuesday and Wednesday. We decided to have lunch here. Upon entering the restaurant, we did not see a host or hostess. After waiting for a few mins, a kind gentleman apologized for the wait and seated us. We were told our waiter would be with us in a few. When he didn’t show up, the host ended up taking our order. Our waiter introduced himself as he brought out our Appetizer. Complimentary bread and butter is offered. They also have the cutest mini ketchup and Tabasco bottles at the table. We decided to try the Blue Lump Crab & Tomato Gazpacho, Roasted Shrimp Pappardelle Pasta, and Grilled Chicken Gemelli Pasta. The Gazpacho was cool, clean, and refreshing. The Crab was fresh and the drizzle of olive oil was lovely. The Pappardelle pasta was al dente. They gave a generous serving of pasta and shrimp. However, I wasn’t impressed with the shellfish butter and the shrimp was lacking in flavor. The Gemelli Pasta was al dente. The Parmesan Cream Sauce was well made and the Prosciutto was slightly salty and savory. I enjoyed this dish a lot. Things appeared a bit disorganized at first, but the host and waiter were very friendly and apologetic. Once our meals arrived, our waiter did a wonderful job checking on us and our water cups were always full. He even packed our leftovers for us to take back to the hotel. There is a children’s play area hidden towards the corner of the restaurant. So if you’re bringing little ones, they have child-size tables and chairs, beanbags, and a large screen TV to keep them entertained and comfortable. For a restaurant at a Universal Orlando On-site Hotel, we were quite impressed. After eating mediocre burgers and pizza at the parks, this is definitely a nice option to have on hand.
