The Imperial Wine Bar & Beer Garden

Totally fun eclectic, local bar that doubles as a furniture and décor store during the day. The pieces are all for sale here — even the tables and chairs, and it’s an ever changing environment as a result. They are always adding to and taking away from the items in the shop.
All the seating areas are cozy and comfy. They have benches and tables inside and long outdoor benches on the closed patio outside. Grab a drink and take a walk around and see everything that’s on offer — you never know if you’ll find something other than a drink that you want to buy!

Really fun place to grab a drink and some small bites. Love the changing dynamic of this place — always something new.

On one hand, my byline sums it up perfectly, but on second thought, it probably needs more of an explanation.
The cool: a furniture store that sells alcohol, is obviously awesome. Every furniture store in America should follow this business model, starting tomorrow. How much more fun would buying end tables be?!
The less cool: while it initially seems like the most amazing thing in the world, one quickly realizes that not all of the «furniture» is the most comfortable to actually sit on for a prolonged amount of time. And you know what usually coincides with sitting for a prolonged time? Drinking alcohol. Thus, this is a match not made in heaven. Then again, this might have just been more of my particular experience sitting in the courtyard. If that’s the case, I don’t recommend posting up in the courtyard.
But that being said, this place is still pretty rad, with a solid local beer list.

Love the atmosphere of Imperial. It’s chill, relaxing, and interesting all at the same time. One of my favorite happy hour spots in the Ivanhoe area.

Giving 5 stars for the super interesting and creative use of a true East Asian/​Indian furniture store. The bar and makeup of the bar is really fun and interesting. The wine and beer selection is very nice and well thought out. There tends to be a lot of live music and very comfortable spots to sit and enjoy it. Everytime I go I try there vegetarian flatbread which has been good and slightly different the few times that I’ve been there.

Honestly, that should really say it all. Service is great! It is awesome to look around at all the old furniture and knick knacks. I just wish someone would tell us the stories behind everything!

Very cool spot to check out the décor and furniture is pretty much all for sale. They have some really nice wood furniture and statues. The beer and wine selection is good and the flat bread was delicious. I loked the outdoor smoking space as well.

The Imperial not only offers craft beers but hand carved fixtures out of Bali wood… Any given bench that you might sit one while enjoying a cider could be your next statement piece for your houses entry way. The in door/​out door environment is a quiet surprise for the perfect FL weather during our «cool» months.

I have been nervous to try this place. I have social anxiety and rolling up to a bar in a furniture store in a hip part of town just gives me visions of everyone turning to stare at me.
So, I finally went for it and it was awesome! I have been missing out. First, for my awkward peeps– it’s actually not that small and I’m not that important so no one stared at me. It’s a quiet place, great for long chats (which is exactly what I was looking for). It would be awesome for a date. Wine selection was amazing and service was friendly.
I didn’t order food, but the folks next to us had a charcuterie that looked a-​OK.

Imperial is absolutely on my list of go-​to bars from now on. The atmosphere is so unique! It’s dimly lit with antique furniture laid throughout. There are a bunch of cosy spots that are perfect for a date.
The service was fast and friendly and the prices were great. My friend and I split a bottle of champagne for $ 32, which lasted us the entire night. My favorite perk is that they have a food truck outside, which is perfect for late night munchies. I had veggie potstickers and literally had to fight for them between my friends. I can’t remember the truck’s name, unfortunately.
This spot is also less than a mile away from my house so yay!

What a wonderful surprise! We went to The Imperial on the night before Thanksgiving to have a little sibling time before the full-​family feast the next day. Live music, not overpowering and totally delightful, tons of great beers on tap (and the killer yummy Sprecher Root Beer!).
Even better, you didn’t have to commit to a whole glass before you bought – taste testing to find your fave was no problem! Bartenders were quick and friendly, and happy to discuss the taps on hand.
The décor is delightfully eclectic, and all for sale! If it were any busier, it would’ve been hard to find a spot in which to sit, but we were lucky.
Altogether, I can’t wait to visit again!

my boyfriend surprised me and took me to this spot. I was expecting a tiny bar with craft beer but once I stepped inside, I was simply in awe.
we got there a little early and the bar wasn’t open yet, so we took the pleasure of walking around and admiring the hundreds of different antiques, furniture, Nic nacs, etc. I’ve honestly never seen anywhere like it. the pieces were all pretty pricey for a broke college student like me, but I enjoyed looking around nonetheless.
before ordering, the bartender allowed us to try a couple different beers before we committed to one. we ended up getting the sweet potato casserole and it was DELISH!
we can’t wait to come back here. we’re definitely gonna try and keep this our little secret because it’s just THAT AMAZING!

I’ve avoided reviewing this spot because I really don’t want more people to know about it. The Imperial is just great. I give very few places 5 stars. The atmosphere is… well it’s tough to describe: local, upscale, casual, intriguing, relaxing, curious, fun, welcoming…
My favorite nights are during the week when it’s slow here and you can sit and enjoy the ambience, the live music or just chat with the the patrons or the bartenders. Weekends can get packed.
It’s beer and wine only. There is outdoor seating. If you’re an asshole they will treat you accordingly. Love this place.

If the killer décor, antique shop, and hip vibes don’t reel you in instantly, the service will. Seriously the best servers in Orlando! My bartender was incredibly nice and helpful and let me sample everything before committing. He even made the conscious effort to remember all of our names throughout the entire night. That is customer service right there.
The Imperial is perfect for a chill night on the town. The backyard patio area is adorned with the most unique wooden antiques, a plethora of lights, and flower trees offer the perfect ambience for an intimate night out with a SO or friends. The interior boasts subtle indie music and plenty of cool (and expensive) places to sit! It’s also an antique shop so if you like the one of a kind $ 10,000 brass Buddha you are sitting by, it can be yours!
They also serve a lot of really yummy food including charcuterie plates and traditional bar food. I really loved the Imperial, but the only downside is the selection. They had about 20 kinds of craft beer and wine, but there was no sangria or any sort of beer cocktail. I think their menu would be greatly improved with an addition of a few of those. I give this place four stars. It was absolutely amazing, but could use a few more drinks.

The only thing that would improve this place is liquor. They have it at the Sanford location. I generally approve of their beer and wine selection, and the food options are a huge plus. They usually offer some sort of food truck option as well.
I love the location, the always changing layout of the place. It’s in a great neighborhood with plenty of good walking distance options for post-​drink entertainment. But for the elusive liquor license, I would give this place the full 5 stars. Don’t miss the patio in the spring and fall!
Oh, and if you have 1−5k to drop on some unique furniture, you can shop while you sip.

Beer completes me, so I was excited to check out The Imperial. It is such an interesting place with so many things to look at. The beer selection was a little minimal for my liking — as someone who’s tried a lot of beer I’m always looking for a big list to choose from. The bartenders were pleasant and let us sample a few until we found something we liked. It was a nice place to relax, chat with friends, and eat some delicious food from Daydream Pizza food truck parked outside.

I like the idea of having a drink or appetizer on antique furniture. I love this concept. After reading so many great reviews about Imperial, I decided to check it out. It is a nice furniture store/​bar as you are actually sitting and eating on pieces that are for sale. How cool is that? The price tag however is out my range but the furniture is very beautiful.
I ordered a glass of Cupani, a red wine, it was smooth and fruity at the same time. I noticed that they also had small bites but i didn’t get to try any of them.
Th service was good, the bartender did recommend a few items on the drink menu and described some of the foods they serve.
This is a nice area to come to with a group of friends or even a date as it is very relaxing, and to reiterate you don’t really get to sit on antique furniture that often. Amazing concept!

Came here with a friend. Heard it was an antique store by day and bar by night. I’m not a fan of antique furniture; however, the pieces I saw in here I actually liked them. I had a glass of Spatlese Reisling. It was pretty good and flavourful. They also had a small menu for kitchen items, which I didn’t try. It was mainly made up of cheeses and some meats. It’s not a place where you would go and have a full course meal. In my opinion, overall it’s nice, nice atmosphere. Service was ok, the prices a lil pricey. Would I go back? Not sure. However, I’m glad I went. My mother would love to shop there though. I’m giving it four stars because of the uniqueness of the idea.

For my Austin friends, Imperial Wine Bar & Beer Garden has a similar feel to Aviary. From the beautiful chandeliers to unique tables almost everything is for sale in this boutique/​bar. They have a small outdoor area lining the back of the bar. The atmosphere is comfortable with lots of make shift seating making it conducive to chatting and accommodating for larger groups.
Orders are only taken at the bar and then guests can sit wherever they would like. They are a beer and wine bar only serving a nice variety of both. I ordered their malbec and Jesse his usual IPA. If smoke bothers you opt for sitting indoors. We found a nook and found semi private area inside the bar.
While they do not serve food they do have a food truck (that rotates out) about 6 days a week. They also have live music some evenings.
Tip: There is a parking lot across the street and street parking available.

A bar in a sweet ass furniture store?! Um, yes please.
This is the best idea ever. Located in the back of Washburn Imports is the Imperial… its just beer and wine but they have excellent beers on tap and a good wine selection. The store is filled with exotic furniture from all over the world. You can enjoy your beer while sitting on a bench fashioned from a giant tree trunk from Bali. Yeah, um thats really freaking cool. They also have a little outdoor area that is so relaxing… it really feels like you’re not in Orlando.
In addition to all of his awesomeness, they have a KILLER food menu (apps and small plates I think) on some nights and food trucks other nights.
The bartenders are super friendly which always makes for a good experience. I really can’t wait to become a regular here.

Not knowing what to expect, I was invited to a birthday party at the Imperial on a Friday night. Parking was okay, we found a spot right behind the bar. The inside is filled with all sorts of odds and ends including high priced wooden furniture. Nothing I would buy but fun to look at.
This is a wine and beer bar only so I decided to have an Cider from the Tap… don’t remember what it was but it was tasty and only 6 bucks. When I ordered my first round, I had three glasses to balance and the bartender offered to come around and carry one for me… I was surprised at the offer since in all the years I have been drinking, never had a bartender offered to help me! Wow… that was impressive and friendly. He continued to be very nice all evening long. In fact, both bartenders introduced themselves and welcomed me to their place. Very nice…
We all chatted at tables and seats in the front of the room. The noise level was a bit high but not too bad that we had to yell at each other. I felt bad for the people who were seated behind us at a large table. I kept feeling we where in their way but nobody said anything so we must of been okay.
All in all, I bought 7 ciders plus a tip and it came to 50 bucks for a fun night. I did enjoy myself and will have to make a point to visit again another night.

I can’t help but wonder what would happen if you spilled your drink here… as you are sitting on furniture that is for sale. And some of those price tags had a few more zeros than I am used to! Either way, this is such a fun little gem in the Ivanhoe ‘hood!
I stopped in on a Saturday evening for some post-​dinner drinks with a friend. I didn’t really check out the wine menu, but saw they have a nice extensive selection of beer. Some of the store is closed off, as this doubles as a furniture store during the day. There is a bar where you can sit and chat with the bartenders, or a few seating areas and a gorgeous patio. So take a seat somewhere and relax!
What’s nice about The Imperial, even though you are in one large room, the seating area feel really intimate. And you are surrounded by many unique conversation pieces, so if you run out of things to talk about you can just take a look around and get some inspiration. This is the perfect spot to chat with friends or bring a date.

What a cool place — furniture store by day — beer and wine bar by night!
We stumbled in here after after a long day of work, to grab some drinks and celebrate. The place is decorated with random furniture pieces from tables and chairs to bookshelves and sculptures. Pretty well laid out — with a bar towards the back. It was a weeknight and the place was pretty busy!
The staff was super friendly. They have a good beer list — ciders — and wine. We grabbed some drinks and took a seat in a little nook which fit about 6 people. There was some live music — and the performance was really good. Great vibe in here.
You can also head outside to sip al fresco in their outdoor «garden» where theres a couple of tables set up — we just peeked our head out as it was a pretty cold night — we kicked it inside, nice and toasty!
Before we knew it it was midnight and they were closing down. Yep, yet again my group was the last one left. This has happened to me many a times with my Unilocal family — mainly because when we get together we all just love to talk… that’s rule number 1 when they hire a CM. I wish they were open a little later — but then again it was a weekday… so it’s understandable.

Absolutely awesome place. We were walking around looking for furniture a couple weeks ago and the gentlemen working in Washburn Imports, the furniture store in the same building whose furniture you sit on at the bar, told us that at night it turns into a bar. We wandered through and decided to come back that week and try it out.
Very neat concept. You can order wine and beer, and a small menu of food, and you are free to walk around and sit on any of the furniture in store. I thought it was a really cool concept. All the furniture comes from other countries and they ship it back. We walked around and sat on a few fun wooden benches, a funky table and some other outdoor looking pieces. The ambiance was great and very dimly lit. The crowd seemed more mature and probably a little more upscale than most of what you find in the downtown area but it was pretty on par with the Ivanhoe area from what I’ve seen so far. Everyone seemed very respectful and I got the feeling that it was more of a locals scene but everyone was very friendly.

We were looking for a chill place to catch up with a good friend and a few good beers to celebrate an amazing night… and this place so all that and so much more.
We walked up and I thought it was closed (gasp!), but walked around to the side and the place was hoppin.
As craft beer lovers, we were in heaven with the selection and the bartender was super friendly and helpful, when my first selection was no longer available. The 2^nd choice was right on (have forgotten the name by now) but if you need assistance with your selection, don’t hesitate to ask.
Adored the ambiance… and only after reading the reviews put two and two together that this was also a furniture store? Fantastic pieces scattered throughout, filled with texture, wood and amazing art, gave this place a great vibe.
We hung out for a couple beers, enjoyed the live music (props to the guy for playing a very obscure Ryan Adam’s number… ah the key to my heart.)
Next time we stay in the area, or are in Orlando for any reason, I’ll definitely be returning. We missed the beer garden and I can see that would be the ultimate drinking spot on a warm Florida night…

My friend and I went here after I read an article that mentioned it and listed as one of the 10 places you need to go in Orlando. I really liked it!
It’s cool because it is a furniture store/​wine bar. There is lots of hand carved wood and although it is a bit rustic for my taste I can certainly appreciate the craftsmanship.
The bar itself was nice and quiet with a great selection of wine. The perfect place to meet your friends for a drink and catch up.
I had a Hungarian white wine that was shockingly good and a German Riesling that was right up my ally.
I will definitely be back.
