I have been a part of this store for almost 2 years now. Keith has run this business for the last 30 years and prides himself on hiring good people to work for him. I have had such pleasant experiences at this shop and would recommend them to anyone looking to get certified. They have the cheapest courses around for what you get and the instructors are all top notch ex or retired military. Everyone here is always so sweet. I am looking forward to finishing my advanced certification this weekend and hopefully moving on to rescue next. The pool in the back is also a huge plus.

I just finished up my open water certification this past weekend. It was a 2 week process– A classroom session on a Thursday evening, followed by a confined water dive day on Saturday, and 2 days of open water diving the next weekend. In addition, there is a coursework program that you work through at home consisting of 5 chapters and an in-class final exam. All sessions are extremely thorough and every member of the staff that I interacted with was very knowledgeable. My instructor during both the confined water dives and the open water dives was Robert. He really took the time to make sure I was comfortable with each skill, and was patient with me when I had trouble. There was one skill during confined water that I had some serious problems with. He didn’t force the skill and suggested that I practice at home(I was lucky enough to have the capabilities and equipment to do so) and come back later in the week. I came back the following Thursday to show proficiency in that particular skill and worked with Tyler. He was great as well– spent a good hour in the pool with me, going over skills that I wanted to get some extra practice on before the open water dives. The following weekend during the open water dives, Robert was very encouraging and just all around a great instructor. At the end of this whole process, I feel very confident and ready to dive on my upcoming trip to the Bahamas. I really can’t say enough about The Dive Station and their staff. Oh, and it’s worth mentioning– I did quite a bit of research when purchasing my equipment– their prices were even lower than Amazon and they have a great selection. Plus, you can’t beat purchasing from and supporting local business. I highly recommend!

I’m a Navy retiree, last year I completed my training to become an instructor. I am now working on completing my rebreather and Tec instructor training. The training and staff are very professional and knowledgeable. All staff are prior military but do not teach with the military mentality. Job will done and I look forward to more training with the Dive Station.

received my open water training cert and robert is a great instructor. but Keith needs to retire or sell the shop to a business man who understands customer service. bought all of my starter equipment at his shop. but bcs and octopus at divers direct as they had better choices(by far) and prices. when i went back to the dive shop to rent a tank Keith asked me where i bought my equipment so i told him. he then BANNED me for not showing loyality to him and the shop and not buying my equipment from him and wont let me take any advance courses thru his shop REALLY.still cant believe it. and still have about $ 1,000.00 in gear to buy. and cant wait to go back to diver direct where i was treated like a king

Located 5 minutes from I-4 on Edgewater Dr. Had a groupon for two and brought my best friend with me to do a basic scuba class. Keith is the friendly Manager of the facility and has been diving throughout the world for years(Well over 12,000 dives). He led a 20 minute classroom session where we did some paperwork and went over some basic rules and guidelines. It wasn’t the most organized but it did have some good information. After that classroom session, we all went out to the pool in the back and had the basic scuba experience with an instructor who is a former member of the navy. He was both straightforward and polite when it came to showing us the basics on how to clear our masks underwater and how to do some of the fundamentals. We got to the station at 12, were in the pool by 12:30 and left a little after 2pm. Plenty of time in the water. They are offering open water certification for $ 260 for those who want to book 2 weeks after the basic class. I’m still considering it. If you are looking for a fun experience, I would recommend going for the basic class and seeing how you feel scuba diving.
