It represents America to the fullest: our universal symbol of freedom and democracy. Whenever I drive by this replica on the corner of Lake Ivanhoe(North Orange and Magnolia avenue) I smile. Yes, maybe it’s only 8 ft tall but I appreciate the reminder when I am near. It was dedicated when the Boy Scouts of America did a nation wide«Strengthen the Arm of Liberty» campaign in 1952. Then, it was refurbished in the mid 80’s. Small things like this around our City Beautiful make me smile.
