Had a perfect experience here. The food was amazing. The best sweet plantains I’ve ever experienced and the papa criolla had the best sauce. Beyond the food, the customer service was above and beyond. Both staff were very attentive and one even shook my hand on the way out to ensure I enjoyed my meal and had a great day. Definitely will be back.

I loved visiting this super cute café serving up Latin American food. The café is located in the main strip area of hotel resorts in Orlando(definitely better than most food in the area!) I had a quick lunch here before heading to our next destination. The guava & cheese tequenos are soooo goood and definitely worth ordering. Sweet and savory deliciousness! The Skirt steak(Churrasco) topped with chimichurri sauce was also delicious and came with 3 sides. I could just eat their sweet plantains all day! A great place for a quick bite!

I am absolutely in love with this café. I’m a steak kind of girl and I love the churrasco. The chimichurri sauce on it is amazing! Of course I got white rice, black beans and plantains. I loved the food so much that I had to go back two days later for more. Service was great, my niece accidentally dropped one of their glasses and they were very understanding. Both the service and food were a 5 out of 5. I will definitely comity to go back here when I visit Orlando!

Very nice and clean place to eat. Loved the atmosphere and music. Service was great and the food was the best part! I wasn’t sure my kids would like it but they really loved the food!

The boyfriend and I ate here on a Friday night. There was only one or two tables of people around 6 pm. Despite there only being 2 tables in the restaurant, our food took over 30 minutes. I’m still not sure why the food took so long. This is why I’m giving 4 stars. Everything else about the experience was very good. We shared the beef empanada and skirt steak. This was plenty of food for two adults. We agreed that two entrees would have been too much food. The skirt steak came with a salad and three sides. We ordered the yellow rice, red beans and boiled yucca. The food was good quality and the skirt steak had a lot of flavor. We enjoyed the atmosphere which had a hip and modern feel. I always enjoy finding local spots in the tourist area of town and this place fit the bill. The food was on the more expensive side for a fast casual type restaurant($ 15 for the skirt steak meal) but the quality justified it. I recommend tourists to visit here to get a local flavor instead of visiting all the other chains across the street.

Visited this cute little café while on our vacation to Orlando recently. The ambience is warm, welcoming and very artistic. Food was absolutely delicious that we came here twice while we were in town. I tried the roasted chicken, roasted pork, fried yucca, tostones and black beans, my partner tried the kale salad with chicken and she loved it. The espresso is super yummy. The people were very friendly and so kind. Latin music was on point. We highly recommend this place. Great delicious food for a very reasonable price. We will return when we visit Orlando soon! Thank you for our wonderful delicious Latin food experience.

Amazing! We ordered the Churrasco(skirt steak) and Pollo a la Plancha with yellow rice and black beans. Couldn’t have been better. I also got the sangria and enjoyed it. Fried yucca was a bit like eating fat french fries with less guilt. After reading some of the reviews here, I had the sense that this was a hole-in-the-wall, but that’s not at all the case. While you order at the counter, the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. I’d love to return when we’re in the Orlando area.

Had the papa rellena, Venezuelan empanada(chicken), cachapa with roast pork, kale salad and coconut flan. Papa rellena was excellent, delicious corned beef filling in perfectly fried fritter with nice crust and soft moist interior. Venezuelan empanada was also good, great use of spices and came with a good herb mayo sauce. I think this sort of handheld food is their strong point. Cachapa with roast pork was okay. Came out pretty room temperature and they did remake it. Still came out a bit cooler for my preference which kinda surprised me since usually when you return something for being cold it come back piping. I think the problem is they don’t warm up the queso so that cools down the whole dish. Roast pork wasn’t of the style I prefer. It was lean and no skin. It reminded me more of a stewed pork and tasted a bit sour. Not terrible just not that exciting. But I was hungry so that’s how that went. The masa part was pretty tasty but I wish it had been more crispy. Just felt undercooked overall. Kale salad was fine except they missed the memo on removing the stalks so my wife had to eat around them. Apart from that she thought it was decent. Coconut flan was good. I prefer regular flan and it wasn’t life changing but if coconut flan sounds good to you it will deliver. Overall I don’t feel this place met my expectations based on the existing reviews. Their food is decent and the service is good, but nothing stellar.

My complimentary bumper magnet reads #lovesofrito and that pretty much summarizes this place… The staff is friendly enough and helps to orient you on their business model. You order from a counter, pay and the food is delivered by a waiter. Everyone enjoyed their meals and Service was fast and efficient… While the meals were tasty, my Churasco steak needed to be returned to the kitchen for further cooking — I ordered«medium» but it arrived as what could barely be classified as «rare» … Seriously, I would have enjoyed a medium rare steak but this steak was still moo-ing … The most undercooked steak ever; wasn’t even close to medium-rare. They happily took it back, cooked it further and freshened up my plate. They apologized and explained that they prefer to undercook as opposed to overlooking steaks — while I appreciate that, I’ve never experienced a more(almost uncooked) rare steak anywhere(except when I visited France some 20 years ago). Why four stars you ask? When it was returned to the table and cooked as ordered it was sublime and the sides were delicious. The Nutella empanadas for dessert were tremendously awesome, especially for a chocolate /Nutella lover. The atmosphere is nice, not«divey» as it is classified as on Unilocal. Kids dishes were all consumed without a single complaint … In a chain-crowded restaurant area like Orlando, this place offers a great alternative with authentically done, quality food and friendly service.

Not just Cuban but also a wide variety of popular South American dishes. I had my go to roast pork, sweet plantains, black and, and white rice. Not a HUGE plate of food but good solid portion along with a side salad. my BF got the Venezuelan shredded beef dish. We started off by splitting a ginormous & absolutely delicious Venezuelan cheese empanadas and ended with a Nutella empanada. Super clean restaurant with a very friendly staff. Set up like Panera– you come in and order then your food is brought out to you. Would definitely come back again.

What a great place — great food, excellent service and even great beer on tap. In the land of chain restaurants like Orlando, I would classify this as a hidden gem. PS Don’t be intimidated by the authentic ethnicity(i.e., if you don’t speak Spanish), the staff are extremely polite, friendly and bilingual!

I’ll cut to the chase: get yourself a Venezuelan roasted pork cachapa and side of plantains during your afternoon break from the theme parks. After that, get the Nutella empanada and coconut flan. You’ll be singing. They are just that good. This place is a huge bargain for really phenomenal Latin food. You would easily pay twice the amount at nearby soulless chains Bongos or Cuba Libre. We tried other things, a few small plate empanadas, a Cuban, and a burger… those were less impressive. The Cuban needed more dressing, the burger was just ok. But just so it’s totally clear: the cachapa, plantains, Nutella empanada, and coconut flan are heavenly. This place will be a part of my Disney-visiting routine from now on.

Holy Crap Batman! How this place doesn’t get 5 stars for each patron is beyond me. This place is seriously legit! First off, it is self service to a degree. You order at the counter. When you walk through the door, someone greets you immediately! They present the menu board(2 sided, but simple) and ask you if you have ever been here, then they talk about the place and how to order. They tell you to take any seat you like and take your time. When you are ready, come up and they will take care of you. I ordered the Churrasco. A skirt steak that was drizzled with an oil and seasonings. Not too much and not to overwhelming. Very very nice! Probably the single greatest skirt steak ever. Seriously! I make this steak a lot at my house when we have red meat. It’s really the only kind of steak I make/eat because of how lean it is. I was asked for 3 sides! Really? 3 sides? And my order came with a small salad too. It was a lot of food for $ 14.99, IMO. I LOVED the ambience and hangout feel but could also be construed as a nice sit down as the place is very tastefully decorated. Totally causal atmosphere with many business people popping in here too. You have to experience this place for yourself. You won’t be disappointed! I have to bring my beautiful wife here next trip with me. She will love this place too. We are pretty picky eaters and expect high quality from restaurants. This is clearly a 5 star place. Everyone is very attentive to the customer and I love the easy going greet at the door and how they make you feel at home! Thanks Sofrito Café, when I am in town, we are here! Which is pretty often, BTW! Buon Appetito mi amici

First timer. My wife and I decided to give Sofrito a try. I was not let down. I ordered the Churrasco with yuca which was seasoned in mojito garlic and some sweet plantines. It was delicious! Tried some empanada — they had a couple, but only tried the Venezuelan cheese empanada-loved it! They have a big selection and it’s a mix of Latin food dishes. Dessert, had the coconut flan it was awesome tasting. Although the portion was a bit small and since it was soooo good left me wanting a little bit more. Definitely recommend this place if you’re into Spanish/Latin food.

Decided to stop at this spot due to all the 4 and 5 star ratings. it was good, but not fantastic. I had the pork, with yellow rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. My husband had the Columbian burger, and the teen had the Tripleta sandwich. Hubby said the burger was good, just a typical burger. My daughter enjoyed her sandwich, but it appeared that the cheese had been on the bread for some time as it was very dried out around the edges. it was not appealing to look at. My meal came out about 5 minutes after every one else’s, and initially they brought me the wrong order, but quickly realized their mistake, and switched out my plate for the correct one. My pork was tender and well seasoned. The rice was rather bland, and the beans were okay. The plantains, which I usually love, we’re not seasoned while being cooked, and no amount of salt can make up for lack of salt used while frying. They were bland, and undercooked. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the location is great if you’re visiting nearby attractions. Just not as good as we had hoped.

This is a terrific pan-Latin restaurant that is a whole lot better than it needs to be in the tourist corridor. In fact, it’s probably the best Latin restaurant in town.(Just to clarify, it is NOT Latin fusion, which would combine the cuisines of different countries; instead, they offer different foods from many Latin countries.) Although it’s a quick serve concept where you order at the counter and food is delivered to the table, the service is exceptional. The staff is clearly enthusiastic about their food, and is welcoming and anxious to explain the menu, and to promote their favorite items. My favorite items were the Pandebono, a round, cheesy, and slightly sweet Colombian bread, and the Cachapa, a Venezuelan sweet corn pancake filled with white cheese and(in my case) beef. Both were a complex combination of savory and sweet flavors, with both crisp and chewy textures. I’ve never had a better Chachapa. I also enjoyed the Venezuelan empanada, although it didn’t have a lot of filling. I was less enthusiastic about the Mini Cheese Tequeños, which were cheese filled pastry rolls without a lot of flavor. There are a number of interesting beers on tap, South American soft drinks, and excellent Cuban coffee. If you’re visiting and looking for something non-touristy and a bit different, this is a great choice. And if you’re a local, it’s worth the drive to Lake Buena Vista to get your Latin food fix.

What a delicious Latin fusion place to eat. What a way to represent! I really enjoyed my dinner, the service was great the atmosphere is nice and clean. Ok, but I’m a stickler for wanting to be able to cut my steak on an actual plate with real utensils. The only down fall(for me) to this place is the plastic plates and utensils. Which I understand, if you can’t finish all they do is bring out a plastic lid that fits on the plastic plate and your good to go. I’m sure there’s a lot of to go orders as well given its location to all the hotels. Just not my favorite way to eat a steak at the restaurant. Other than that, prepare for your tummy and tastebuds to be happy.

Can i haz all the empanadas! Cuban, Colombian, Venezuelan, Argentinian… I want it all! Gf and I was in the area and was headed towards another Latin/Spanish food spot, when we drove by this location. Quickly opened up the Unilocal app, scanned through some food pics, and bam! Here we are! FAST review… Food– We ordered an array of empanadas. The Venezuelan was our favorite! Perfectly crisp slightly sweet/savory shell that complemented the seasoned shredded chicken. And whatever that green dipping sauce was… so good! I dipped my fried yucca and tostones on that too! I will definitely be ordering that EVERY time we go back! I also had the standard media noche(Cuban sandwich) and gf got the Churrasco(Argentine steak) plate. Steak was tender and delicious, Cuban sandwich was regular. We also ordered the Argentinean empanada with the powdered sugar… and it was just a little weird combo. Our server did warn us that we may not like it with the sugar, but I’m an adventurous eater. Their juices were fine and we’ll have to go back for their spanish beers and wine selections. Ambience– Fast casual/bar type vibe. Menus were on clipboards, great font everywhere. Spanish mix of salsa and reggaeton was playing in the background. Feels like a trendy place you can salsa but without the actual dance floor. Service– We had a very attentive host who was interested in introducing us to many foods that we may/may not have tried before. He was friendly and you can tell he had a passion for the food there. He did warn us that one of the empanadas would take a little bit to cook, which is a nice gesture. Other places wouldn’t even care to mention it and bring out the food late. Tip– Order all the empanadas and find your favorite! Try the Argentinean empanada without the powdered sugar.

What a great gem to find!(Thanks, Unilocal!) I ordered the pollo a la plancha, as well as a papa rellena, and my husband got the chacarero de pollo. Everything was really good! I had so much food that I had to get a to go box. I will definitely eat here again. The owner was very friendly and made sure that the service was flawless. She was really helpful and knowledgeable about the food they serve, as one would hope. One awesome thing she said she was doing was working on having all local beer and wine to help support local businesses. Props to her! The ambiance was modern and very open. They have an outdoor patio, but I don’t think there was seating there. It could be a cool venue for a reception or party. I really enjoyed it and definitely look forward to coming back time and time again!
