I like a lot of wasabi with my sushi. Many restaurants use re-constituted powdered wasabi and it is difficult to keep all of the sting in it for very long. The wasabi at Seito was FRESH, and really good. I’ve been to sushi restaurants where there were more items, but the menu is complete enough to satisfy anyone, and I did not hear any complaints among our 8 people for carry-out. Freshness is a key here, and they do keep it fresh. We returned for lunch the next day and found the same quality, plus a very delightful waiter, Sean. I’ll return.

As the only vegan at my table, I expected the worst at Seito Sushi in Baldwin Park, but they were very accomodating. The chef gave me the option of a tofu and veggie stir fry, veggie rolls with things like avocado/cucumber/asparagus, or a ramen bowl with tempeh and veggies(they replaced the ramen noodles with cellophane noodles). I chose the last option, which I was very impressed with. One of the tastiest meals I have had. Baldwin Park restaurants have always needed to get on the labeled vegan option train, but this will do until then.

I came here for lunch with my boyfriend. We came at about 2:50Pm and were aware that the restaurant ends lunch hour at 3Pm but luckily we were still managed to get seated. I detest being the last in the restaurant, but the server was very nice and did not rush us at all. Although, we did have to order quickly as the kitchen closes at 3 on the dot. For starter we ordered Pork Belly Bao Buns, the pork inside has the right crispness to it leaving me wanting more and more and the pickles inside really enhanced my taste. Next up we had the chirashi, I had chirashis from many different places but this one from Seito left a good impression in me. The bowl had many assorted flavors and sides to it, the sashimi over rice was just amazing but on a negative note the sashimi was cut into smaller pieces than an average size sashimi. We also tried Uni and scallop nigiri, both were outstanding and the quality I could not complain, it literally melted in my mouth. Lastly we had 2 rolls; Bourbon Salmon and Sunset. I personally did not enjoy the Bourbon Salmon it had a sweet flavor crunchiness crust to it which I was not a fan of. Sunset roll was average to me. We did order in a rush so hopefully next time we will order better rolls. I was not too fond of the white sangria with mixed sake, it tasted very diluted and water-down. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant in addition to its modern and exquisite décor. They had friendly staffs and amazing fish quality!

I’ve been coming here for years now and it’s always my go to place for sushi. I can honestly say that I’ve never once been disappointed by anything I’ve ordered here. Everything is both fresh and delicious, plus, they have patio seating which is nice when it’s not too blazing hot outside.

I don’t know why I forget about this place because every time I go I dig it… their food is delicious! This weekend I tried the Vegetarian Ramen Bowl & wow, it was so good, perfect for a rainy day! Tempeh, egg noodles & vegetables in a delicious & flavorful veggie broth. Yumm-o! If you’re a vegetarian, Seito has several options for you, from ramen to bento boxes & sushi rolls. A nice spot to grab a good meal & drinks while you enjoy the sites of Baldwin Park. Check it out!

Deceivingly at a strip mall, the décor is trendy. Not for the traditionalist, the food is for the western palette. The cucumber water was a nice touch. Don’t get their green tea, it’s in a bag. We ordered the Sashimi Grand Selection. The quality was a tad above mediocre but it was very fresh. The selection was good but not many standouts. The uni was special tho. The Popeye Roll was too sweet but not bad. I’d recommend the Seito Roll, which is not on the menu but you can still request it.

I come here often for lunch simply because it is right across the street, but I always have an issue with the food being way too salty. I usually get the salmon«deal» and the flavors are there, just too much salt. Today I asked them to go light on the salt, but I don’t think the message got across. All in all, I think it’s an ok place. Can’t beat salmon, veggies, rice, soup and salad for $ 9.

I went here with my girlfriend as well as Chef George Vogelbacher. We ordered a couple of rolls — the Snow Crab one and the one with steak and seafood(I can’t remember what it was called!). They were both delicious. My girlfriend also ordered the Floridian, but I personally didn’t care for that one because the grapefruit on top was a little too out of my comfort zone but that’s a matter of pure personal preference. Chef George ordered a big plate of Sashimi and was extremely satisfied. Overall, it was a really nice meal that was worth the money for the quality of the food, the ambiance and watching the sushi chefs behind the bar work their magic. The only thing I will say was service was slow and not very attentive and it took a long time for us to get our drinks. If that had been stepped up, it would have been a five star experience.

I had an enjoyable meal at Seito but it didn’t blow me away. Perhaps I’ve heard too many good things about Seito so my expectations were too high. Also my boyfriend isn’t quite as adventurous an eater as I am so our selections were more on the«safe» side which probably led to not feeling that«wow» factor from the meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice, as well as the presentation and plating. In that aspect I much prefer Seito over Kabooki. I think Kabooki has the edge over Seito in terms of the actual sushi itself, but again what we ordered probably influenced that. There was nothing wrong with the meal and I want to go back to try more of the menu, but for all the hype around Seito it just didn’t quite live up to my expectations.

I had been here about a dozen times before I started using Unilocal but don’t really know why we had not been there in a while because the food was always good. Well after an outstanding Brunch at Osprey Tavern and knowing that Seito was owned by the same person, we decided it was time we returned. I made reservations for for 4 earlier in the week but when we arrived, my reservation was not to be found. Normally I would be pretty annoyed but the hostess had us seated in less than a minute with her apologies. Since the owner is a member of the foodie group I help to manage, I messaged him about the incident and within a few minutes he is at the table. He went out of his way to make up for the reservation issue but his staff handled the situation very well. One of our friends had tried sushi but was kind of gun shy about trying it but after taking her to a few of our favorite spots around town, she decided to trust us and roll with the punches. We ordered several things and chose to make sure everybody had a chance to try it. This was what we ordered and I will spare you the play by play because everything we had was fantastic but here are the highlights… Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs — 5 Tender, well seasoned but not too spicy. Pork Belly Kakuni — 5 This morsel stole the show… A MUSTTRY! Peking Duck Glazed Buns and a plate with 4 pieces of sushi(sent to the table by the owner) The duck was incredible and I forgot to ask which sushi was served but YUM was the word! Ichiban — Did not try but our sushi newbie loved it. Beauty and the Beast — Did not try but our sushi newbie loved it as well. Ultimate Spicy Tuna — 5 The presentation blew me away but and the taste was a winner. Nigiri Selection — 10 I did not ask what I was eating but every one of them were fabulous. My personal favorite was the one with the salmon roe wrapped with the cucumber. Tonkotsu — 4 The flavor was good but the presentation seemed to be a bit plain. To be fair, they made 2 small bowls of ramen instead on one large bowl since we were sharing them. Shoyu — 5 The flavor was great and the presentation was on point. This was the table favorite of the two ramens sampled. Five Spice French Toast — 5 As full as we were, we all managed to make quick work of this dessert. Service — 5 Our server knew the menu inside and out and how things were prepared. His recommendations were excellent. His personality really made dinner special. The way the reservation mishap was handled made us quickly forget about it. The owner and manager took ownership of the incident and went above and beyond to make up for it. Atmosphere — 5 The place is very classy but not stuffy. Just the right balance in my opinion. Seito is a favorite of the locals in Baldwin Park and it is easy to see why. The food is wonderful and the service is excellent so if you have not been to Seito in Baldwin Park, you should give them a try. This foodie will definitely be back! A Florida Foodie PS: The sushi newbie asked me to make reservations for her and her friend before her friend fly’s home. I smiled the whole time I was on the phone booking her reservations.

This is a prime sushi spot in Baldwin Park. Very nice location just a walk away from the lake. So how I managed to make it here by happy hour. Funny how most of my posts start that way. Ordered several drinks over the course of the meal. Vodka martini, gin martini, dirty martini, needless to say a few more martinis. Typically, sushi places leave me hungry at the end and this place may be the exception Or maybe ordering 3 rolls and eating off my guests plate fill me up. The sushi is as fresh and good as you can get in the area. You figure being only a 40 minutes from the coast is a plus and it is for this locale. Bring a date, your mom, or a sister, this is a must eat in Orlando.

This is a beautiful restaurant, both inside and out. Like many of the Baldwin Park restaurants it has a great sidewalk dining area that is covered and shaded. There is an extensive list of interesting sushi rolls, and an even more extensive«roll-odex» you can request. We started with garlic lime edamame, a very generous serving with an equally generous amount of garlic. We also tried the tuna kobachi, which was less generous, and was missing the usual avocado. It consisted of spicy tuna cubes with a few pickles; oddly, the pickles seemed more American than Japanese. We tried four rolls, and liked them all. The most interesting was the Smoking’ 808, which was served under a smoke filled lid that imparted an exotic flavor. There are several excellent sushi restaurants in the area, but unlike some of the others, Seito is open for lunch on Sundays, and it is certainly a pleasant spot to enjoy a relaxed meal outside.

While there’s some great specialties, we were more in the mood for a low key dinner so we went with some classics(except we did try 1 specialty roll… just couldn’t help ourselves). For example, a good size cup of specially tasty Miso runs you $ 3 so it’s actually not a bad deal once you get past the more upscale exterior. Plus if you happen to come during happy hour, draft Sapporo is $ 3 and Hot Sake $ 4 so this was up our alley. Great service and really nice ambiance. This would be a great place for a date or a small and intimate group dinner. You can come casual or a little dressed up and either way you won’t be out of place. The booths give a sense of privacy and there’s counter seat by the sushi station so you can be right by the action! As far as the menu… Every classic has a small spin, for example the Edemame starter comes in BBQ, garlic lime, or Sriracha Buffalo. The Garlic Lime edemame is nice and garlicky but missing some of that lime zest I was expecting. Still, very tasty and another good spin on a classic. PS-Get the roll-o-dex, if you wanna do your own thing.

So I have to admit– I am not a sushi fan, so I can’t speak to the sushi prowess of this joint, but if it is anything like the ramen that I got, I can imagine that it is great! I started off with one of their signature cocktails, which was almost a spicy take on a margarita. The spice was a big draw to me(having had delicious spicy cocktails in the past), but unfortunately the spice level just wasn’t there for me, but the drink was overall good– just wish it had a bit more of a kick! We tried a couple of appetizers. One was the grilled octopus– a new experience for me! I actually found it quite enjoyable, being slightly charred and crunchy in some areas but also fairly tender. The real winner was the root vegetables dish. While the portion was a little small, it was truly phenomenal! The veggies were cooked perfectly, and the purple sweet potato sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the dish. Then the start of the show arrived, the pork ramen. First the broth. A delicious pork bone broth that was incredibly rich with deep pork flavor. Ramen broth always runs the risk of being too salty, but it was seasoned very well. The pork belly itself was also very good. It had good flavor and was cooked very well– fall apart tender in the broth. The noodles were also pretty much perfect as they were tender but still had just a hint of a bite to them. Finally, all the other ramen accessories gave a great balance to the dish with the vegetables adding just the brightness that a rich dish needs. On top of all that, I didn’t even look too ridiculous in my attempt to eat it all with chopsticks, so win-win! Overall, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Seito has been a solid lunch spot for me over the past year. Lunch is very affordable, their service is top notch, and if you’re looking for sushi on the east side, Seito is probably one of the best choices you can make. I actually stumbled into Seito for the first time last year upon discovering they served ramen. Before this, the closest place for me was Sapporo and I often had to be in the mood to make the trek and have their ramen. But after having the Tonkotsu Ramen at Seito, there better be a damn good reason why I need to drive that far. The vibe at Seito is comes off more laid back. The booths are perfect, clean, and not over decorated. They are often playing a nice chilled out Hiphop playlist to the tune of Nujabes that you won’t notice unless you stop and listen. Despite feling like an open area, the seating arrangement is done in that you’re probably not going to find someone staring your face off while your slurp down your ramen noodles. I’ve had quite a few things here so I’ll convert to a list format to be brief: Spicy Tuna Kobachi: Perrrrfect! It’s a perfect share if you and a friend/date want to eat something other than sushi BUT still want a bite or two of some good fish. I recommend it spicy(it’s about the level of Sriracha, which isn’t spicy to me). The spice & oil is not overpowering and you can still taste the fish pretty well. It comes with sliced pickled cucumbers which complement the flavor of the spicy tuna very well. This also leads me to believe anything they have with spicy tuna is delicious. Tonkotsu Ramen — The real star here is the seared pork belly that comes with the Ramen. Although I always wish there was more in my bowl, it’s perfectly portioned for lunch. Don’t let the bowl fool you either. After the pork, it’s the soy-seasoned soft boiled egg that also shines. I usually save this for last but it’s not overly salty and has never been overcooked for me. I also love that they top it with shredded seaweed instead of the strips as some places will do. If you don’t eat pork, I heard the Shoyu with Chicken is really good. PLEASE note that Shoyu means it’s a soy sauce base, which can be quite salty. I’m hesitant to order the Gyu because they describe it with«Phở spice beef broth», which the elitist food snob in me believes is completely different.(I should probably try it anyways though, so… grain of salt, yeh?) Pork Loin Katsu — Think of it as a pork chop breaded in panko crust. It’s basically daikon hash(daikon looks like a white carrot), pork loin, pork gravy, a fried egg, topped with some green onions and spices. If you don’t know what daikon is, don’t fret. It’s going to taste like potatos to you. Perfect for your friend who is not accustomed to Asian food or if you’re feeling like something a little heavy. Roasted Salmon Lunch Deal — Want something light and healthy? The roasted salmon is perfect. It’s a 6 – 7 oz salmon steak over vegetables with a side of rice. They also include their white miso based sauce that pulls it all together nicely. If you’re a big eater though, go for their Roasted Faroe Island Salmon as it’s a larger portion. Pork Belly Bao Buns — Their bao buns used to be on a rotation, but I think they’ve made it just pork belly now. If you’re asian, these aren’t the bao buns you get from the asian market. They’re more like bao tacos, flat round(but fluffy) pieces of steamed bread wrapped around tender delicious slices of pork belly. This is a great appetizer for ANYONE. I’ve taken my coworkers here and suggested it and they’re crazy over it. The soup and salad that comes with their lunch deals is good too. I can’t speak much to them but the salad is crispy and not soggy. Miso soup is miso soup, I suppose. I can’t tell you the difference between real and the paste-made to be honest, lol. I LOVELOVE their scallop nigiri. They’re just huge, irresistable juicy pieces of scallop. I have never gotten them the same anywhere else. This is also true of their crab nigiri, which is not imitation crab. Their tuna and salmon also fall in line with the high quality fish they use. I definitely trust the quality here. I’m also a big fan of their tea selection. All of which come with a small kettle and is actual loose tea, not bagged. They usually bring them to you in these cool cups that will not burn your hand for holding them. Not really a downside but… I’ve been somewhat bugged by the fact that their Tonkotsu ramen is more expensive at dinner than it is at lunch, but is the same portion. I believe this is due to the cost involved with keeping the ramen going for dinner(but I’m only assuming here). At $ 14(or 15?), it is slightly out of the reasonable range for me. I also think because their lunch is such a good deal($ 9) it just sort of confuses me. I get that Seito is a bit upscale either way. I’ve only been to Seito once for lunch, but plan on coming back to try more of their sushi choices. Overall, Seito Sushi is extremely solid.

Located in the Baldwin Park area of Orlando, Seito is a sushi/ramen spot not to be missed. We arrived on a Friday night and were seated next to the sushi bar, in a booth. The atmosphere is trendy with a very fresh and clean vibe. The drinks are great and they offer a variety of classic rolls, bowls, etc, but also a variety of unique entrees. And, be opened minded and check out some of the specialties. We started with some miso, because as some of you who watch my reviews may know I base sushi restaurants on their miso, and it was perfect. Not overly thick or waterly, like some other places. Just write. We then ordered some nigiri and a speciality roll, which I don’t recall the name. It had cooked lobster with meat, somewhat like a surf and turf, which could have been one of the best rolls I have ever had. We also enjoyed some yellowtail hamachi with a cooked sea salt and foam, amazing! I will definitely get back to Seito next time I am in the area.

A Culinary Game Changer for Orlando’s Japanese Cuisine! What is O·MA·KA·SE? — a meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef in a Japanese restaurant. And then, there is Seito, aptly located smack on Broad Street, in the trendy Baldwin Park. Seito’s Omakase experience just doesn’t limit itself to Japan but draws from Executive Chef Austin’s(Le Cordon Bleu, Orlando) culinary training, and voracious appetite for innovation. Here is my humble attempt at narrating our umami autered evening. And you, my dear foodie friends, have front row seats! Two words summarize these Cold Water Oysters with Cucumber, Wasabi Relish, House Cocktail, and Junmai Sake — Gastronomical Quickie. It’s hard to capture in words the interplay between the Sweet Oyster Meat, pat of Almond Flour, and Nori, topped with Sambal Froth. The cooked oyster in all it’s buttery, juicy goodness; in one bite the oyster meat along with it’s flavorful juices is gone, leaving you wanting more and more. BBQ Eel — Asian pear brulee, hot mustard, quick pickle cucumber. Glistening Eel, sweet, crispy, smoky; sweetness balanced with Hot Mustard and Pickled Cucumber. Another note-worthy creation of Chef Austin. The fashionable Blistered Shishito Peppers, perked by Togarashi(Japanese pepper blend), topped with Bonito; served the purpose of a palate cleanser. Intensely buttery Yellowtail Belly, kissed with barrel aged White Soy Uni Foam and Cherry Smoke, melts on your tongue on contact. May I have seconds? The ubiquitous House Smoked Salmon gets a glamorous make over with Ikura Mousse, Capers, Cucumbers, and Pickled Onions. It’s almost too pretty to touch! Seito’s take on fried calamari, is a spin-off of Japanese fried protein, with soy-based marinade — BBQ Kara-age Squid, Hoisin BBQ, Crushed Peanut. Chirashi translates to «scattered;» I consider it sacrilege in reference to Seito. This Modern Chirashi with Sashimi, Tataki, Wagyu Beef Tartare, Fried Quail Egg, thoughtfully placed accouterments, atop Aonori seasoned Sushi Rice is an intricate picture-perfection of pristine morsels of heaven. Have you seen anything as spectacular as this? And for meat sustenance, locally sourced, flame-licked to perfection Beef Tenderloin served with miso roasted Marble Potatoes, and blistered Shishito Peppers, certainly hits all the spots. Chef Austin’s meticulous attention to presentation, taste, and blend of flavors once again shines through. Unbeknownst to Central Florida residents, the culinary partnership between restaurateur Mr. Chin and the forward-thinking Executive Chef Austin, just might be the celestial intervention, we commoners require to elevate our palates. From traditional Japanese offerings to luxurious show-stoppers, Seito is honoring the traditions of the tried and true, marrying them with the progression of modern cuisine; to invoke a progressive designation — THE New Japanese Cuisine. Here is one instance where breaking boundaries is not only accepted, it is encouraged, revered, and passionately pursued.

First time checking out Seito and went on a Wednesday so it wasn’t super busy when we got there. You can sit inside or out and we decided inside as it was still a little warm out. We got seated right away and at that time there wasn’t anyone sitting at the bar so there was still plenty of space at Seito. I love the décor of the restaurant, a very modern feel and I loved the orchids around the place. We ordered the gyoza to start which were cooked well and crispy as they should be. We noticed that there was a happy hour menu and was able to order off of there before happy hour ended which is at 7pm. I ordered the dynamite roll and the snow crab roll. The dynamite roll was different then I have usually seen sushi. They had the roll and then cubes of the fish laying on top of the roll instead of inside. My friend had ordered a salmon roll and the teriyaki chicken. If you order the teriyaki chicken, be prepared! You are getting half a chicken and it was very good. We were definitely not thinking it was that much chicken. You also get a bowl of miso soup and then rice and veggies come with the chicken.

Seito never fails to impress me. I like their extended happy hour on week days(5 – 7) with good food and roll selection. But on one of my last visits I had planned on sushi and at the last minute decided on ramen instead. It proved to be a very smart choice. I wasn’t expecting much out of ramen from a restaurant that specializes in sushi and interesting cold fish dishes. As soon as I starting sipping the broth I knew I would be devouring the soup. Perfectly seasoned broth, plenty of noodles, plenty of meat pieces, and that egg… it was soaked with yummy broth juice. My suggestion is get the one with the pork to start… since that is the one I tried first. You pretty much can’t go wrong with anything else on the menu. It is all top notch. Some of my other favorites are the bulgogi and specialty sushi rolls. Love this restaurant.

RAMEN. They’ve been serving ramen at lunch for quite some time now, and that ramen has finally graduated to the dinner menu. And I’ve been there twice this week for it(no shame…) You can choose from a light, traditional shoyu ramen with egg and chicken thigh, or the creamy pork goodness of the tonkotsu ramen with pork belly chashu, a to-die-for Lake Meadow Naturals soft boiled egg and a little ginger. You can’t go wrong with either so really it depends on whether you’re in the mood for a light or rich soup. I’ve settled on the tonkotsu as my go-to. At $ 14, it is a little pricier than my other fav ramen in town, to be expected from a Baldwin Park location. Happy hour runs from 4 – 7, with $ 4 sake, beer/wine/cocktail deals and an assortment of appetizers, from which I can wholeheartedly endorse the duck-fat-fried wings and the pork belly bao. They’re also doing a izakaya menu on weekends, with small-plate selections like shrimp on soy bean grits, herbed sashimi, and pork/crab spring rolls. We tried these and a triple tail roll on our last visit — all very fresh and good, but that ramen’s stolen my heart.

I love Seito. I think they truly have the best sushi rolls in the Orlando area. They are more expensive than most, but not overly pricey. I have had many of the rolls on the menu and all of them are different, inventive, and delicious. The sweetheart roll is one of my favorites and is a must if the table is getting a handful of rolls to split. Their Osaka pressed rolls are incredible and unlike anything I’ve had before. They used to have one Osaka pressed roll on the menu, but now the flavor changes on a weekly basis. I have mixed feelings since I could come on a week with a flavor I’m not into, but it does force me to try something different almost every time. Their seaweed salad is a great starter to any meal. They also have excellent kimchi fritters. If sushi isn’t your thing, they also do pretty amazing things with panko and chicken. They have nice happy hour specials on wine and martinis. The only reason I cannot give Seito a 5 star rating is because their service is so sporadic, you never know what you will get. Sometimes we have good service, but more often than not(especially recently) service is slow and poor. Hopefully Seito management can turn this around because even though their sushi is good, poor service will turn people away every time.
