San Francisco Pastry Company

Just wanted a sweet treat randomly and needed to sit down and rest our legs. We got the éclair and it was okay. I loved the filling but the outside portion was a bit on the stale side? It’s not like I have had a lot of eclairs in my life, so maybe this is how it’s suppose to be… but I could have that filing every day!

Stopped there for an afternoon snack. First issue was the service was horrible. One person was filling condiments and never even looked at us to acknowledge we existed… the other person was making something in the back and again never even looked at us… Fine, it gave us more time to look at the options and to be fair they looked very good… Well looks can be deceiving and they are at this place… Our order consisted of one very large brownie and slice of chocolate cake… we ended up with two very nice looking desserts that were so god awful that most of them ended up in the trash… How do you mess up a chocolate cake? You make it dry and void of any chocolate taste… How do you mess up a brownie? Serve it ice box cold and hard as a rock with again no taste beyond sugar. Avoid this place at all costs because it will cost you and you’ll get nothing worth eating.

The pastries looked really great, but I was here looking for a cheap meal. The service here is very good. I asked the girl which sandwich she would recommend and she suggested the Panini. So I got that — the turkey Panini with a side of potato salad and fruit. It came to just under $ 10 after tax.
The food was so-​so. The bread was hard and dry, but at least it was very hot from her heating it up. The insides tasted mediocre. The potato salad was average, and the fruits were okay. The sandwich was quite a big portion, though, which was good. I didn’t finish it because the sides were just so bland and hard.
As I was finishing up, the manager was outside and asked me how my food was, which was a nice touch. I didn’t expect that from a quick service meal. Anyhow, the food was meh and if I were here again, I would not have it, despite the great service. Lombard’s next door looked good, though. I would try that instead — maybe they do take out?

The pastries are pretty but not as tasty as they look. Reasonably priced. Good if you’d like something sweet while in the park.
