Very tasty, but overpriced for what you get. The meat was good, nothing else really special about it.

Too bad the Red Eye BBQ no longer trucks around in Orlando. I fell in love with the Red Eye(daily special): Pulled pork, BBQ sauce, & honey on top of a homemade corn muffin. WHat a great concept! Everything melted in my mouth! So glad I got two to enjoy the double goodness!

I love Barbecue. I love Food Trucks. So naturally, I was looking forward to hitting up Red Eye for a while with the expectation that it can’t lose. Well, I was wrong. I really didn’t want to rate this place 2 stars either. We ordered a Beef Brisket Sandwich, a Pulled Pork Sandwich and Macaroni and Cheese. For being $ 6 per sandwich, I was expecting some well portioned, flavorful sandwiches. Not the case. The rolls were the standard hamburger buns you get in a 6 pack for $ 1.29 at Winn Dixie. I expected the sandwiches to be generously piled higher or bursting out the sides of the sandwich. Not so much. The Pulled Pork didn’t speak to me at all. I didn’t get much of a smokey flavor, or even a kick. For a barbecue pork sandwich, it left much to be desired. Very odd. The Beef Brisket, tasted a little bit better, but it hardly garnered an adequate response from my tastebuds. I’m pretty sure the fries each sandwich came with were of the frozen bagged variety, Ore-Ida? Meh. The Mac and Cheese was good in that it was cheesy and creamy. But nothing that would want me to comeback for it. Colleen B. and Peter M. were dining with us at the Food Truck Pod at Firestone and when she asked me how our food was, I literally said, «Meh.» and shrugged my shoulders. Even WITH the Barbecue Sauce, meh. Colleen had the Bid Daddy Burger with 3 layers including burger, pulled pork and mac and cheese. She also didn’t think much of it. From what I saw, it looked like the kind of sandwich where you couldn’t taste the different flavors. Looks like it all melted into one massive blob of whatever the f*ck. At the first Orlando Food Truck Bazaar a few months ago, I had one of their Red Eyes. A mini corn bread bowl filled with pork and honey drizzled all on top. That was pretty good and the best thing I’ve had from the truck. Even so, it didn’t wow me into being a fan. $ 15 bucks in the hole and we were left feeling dissatisfied and somewhat cheated. Heck, I could’ve gone to Pollo Tropical and got a couple of FLAVORFUL Guava BBQ Pulled Pork sandwiches for cheaper. I don’t like confessing a chain fast food joint has better pulled pork, but I expected more from a homegrown Food Truck.

I have reviewed them before and they got great rating but I must stay my mother ordered from them at the Ovideo Bazaar and they runned our whole order, blamed it on us and then gave us some burnt fries and have we just told them we wouldnt pay for. I am sure it was due to the huge line they had and they may of been overwhelmed but I was disappointed that night. However…I will be back because the Owner is Great and their Big Daddy Burger is still Awesome. Quick critique in love = )

Had the opportunity to catch up with this excellent truck at the second food truck bazaar. The line was about 15 people deep. The wait was about a half hour long. The smell the entire time was quite enjoyable. Because we wanted to try a few things, we stuck with only the loaded fries. That brisket was so amazing. The outer layer was so crispy, the inside so tender. The flavor was so strong, so smokey. I have nothing else to say, other than please give me more. It only gets four stars because I haven’t gotten more yet. Soon my pretty.

Mmmmmm… BBQ… Sorry, I was off in barbeque land for a moment. I’m back now! Once again, our setting is the Food Truck Pod behind Firestone Live 4÷20÷11. These food truckians seems a little less… hmmm…how do you say? A little less congenial than their food truck brothers and sisters. Red Eye were not all that busy when my order was placed, but, I can understand. Barbeque IS a lot of work and it was hot and humid outside. Seriously I do not know how these chefs and assorted food truckians can take the heat here in FL(and it’s only gonna get WORSE!). Jeez, I must’ve lied when I said I was«back.» After seeing a few other diners’ orders of the ‘Red Eye’(open-faced corn muffin sandwiches), we decided they looked entirely too small for our appetite. So we got the loaded fries. Huge amount of wonderfully crispy crinkle cut fries topped with shredded cheese(cheddar, I think) and a huge mound of tender well sauced beef brisket. There were a few chunks of fat throughout the beef, but that brisket has a DAMN good bark while still remaining tender plus I enjoyed both the tangy and sweet sauces that you can choose to add. All that smoked meat just smells delicious, can’t wait to try something else!

Brisket was very good — I thought the sandwiches were a little small but I have a tyrannosauric appetite, so don’t listen to me on that. One star missing, why? Well, despite everything being incredibly good, if you have eaten the brisket sandwiches at 4Rivers smokehouse(on Formosa and Fairbanks), you’ll understand why.

Best BBQ in Orlando hands down! Four rivers doesn’t stand a chance next to these guys. Had the loaded fries. Covered in cheese, but the fries stayed crispy! The meat was a perfect texture and full of flavor without being covered in bbq sauce. The rub creates a perfect crisp on the outside of the meat. Next time I’m looking for BBQ, ill be following this truck. These guys know what they are doing.

A-OK. Tried it last night at the Food Truck Pod behind Firestone Live which is happening every Wed. The line was long so we split up so we could try a few trucks. The wait for Red Eye was about 30 min with ~15 people in front of us. We had been wanting to try the loaded fries for a week so we went with those topped with pulled pork. I think the fries were a little too overdone for me and they were basic crinkle fries. The shredded cheddar was hardly melted and I am just a cheese whore so I was expecting it to be COVERED in it. The pulled pork was ok, not much flavor. Next, we had some kind of monstrous sandwich — it was funny to attempt to eat it without a fork. I forget the name but it was some type of burger topped with pulled pork and the mac n cheese… I wanted it to be amazing but again, the pork was just ok and if you quizzed me on what was on the sandwich, I wouldn’t have even know there was beef on there. The Mac n Cheese was the shining star, I would def order that again and again as a side dish. I do want to taste their brisket though. They have a really nice staff too! So yes, next time MACnCheese with Brisket!

Yeah so I was just bummin’ around Saturday afternoon and my bro gave me a ring about some BBQ food truck that was around our neck of the woods… these food trucks are usually downtown and that’s a 30 to 40 min drive, so with gas prices these days I wasn’t gonna pass up this opportunity. Boy, was I glad I went! I got the Red Eye, but with beef brisket. The corn muffin was sweet and moist on the inside, but had a nice flaky or toasty texture on the outside. The beef brisket was smothered in BBQ sauce and had the right balance of meat and buttery fat. Their BBQ sauces are really good. I mixed the sweet BBQ with the tangy sauce… they should start selling them by the bottle, because I sure as hell would buy ‘em. The service was amazing! They were such nice people… they even gave us a tour of their truck!

This was only one of two trucks I was able to try at the Food Truck Bazaar. I was so frustrated by the lines everywhere that by the time I finally got to eat, I was pleasantly surprised. My friend ordered the sampler for all of us to try. It had two pulled pork sandwiches, sausage, ribs and corn bread. She also ordered a huge side of fries. It was $ 14 all together. The three of us that shared it enjoyed it. Wish she was able to get more sauce though. I’ll have to try it again in a different location without the crowds.

We found theRed Eye BBQ truck at Orlando Harley this weekend, it wasn’t bad, I had the beef brisket, my husband had the pulled pork. I would try it again if it was nearby but would not drive to it, the prices were high and I am not sure if it was due to the venue or not, but $ 8 for just the sandwich with 6 small pieces of brisket was a little pricey, the mac and cheese was another $ 3.

This is a food truck that i stumbled upon outside World of Beer off Sandlake Rd. Which might I add is genius on their part considering WOB does not serve food and everyone inside is drinking beer and getting the munchies. I tried the mac n cheese which is grilled. It for real is creamy, gooey, mac n cheese, with a smokey layer of grilled crust. SOGOOD! The cheeseburger was also very good. To be honest with you, I went to dinner tonight with some friends at Bonefish then we went to World of Beer, had a few beers, and as we were leaving we saw this truck and got some food. I much rather would have spent $ 5 at this food truck than I would have $ 84 at Bonefish. Go to their website for a link to follow them on Twitter to see where they’re going to be next.
