Quality Garage Door Services

Had a really bad experience due to a technician by the name of Chris, who says he has been doing garage door work for the last 34 years.
Okay, I live in Long Beach, Ca. and it is very difficult for me to find someone honest to service my rental property because I am not there to evaluate or get recommendations from people I trust. So, I have to rely on the internet or yellow pages to make a decision. I chose to go with Quality Garage Doors for whatever reason. I called on Tuesday and a gentlemen answered the phone. I inquired about services and he informed me that there would be a service fee of $ 35 but if I get the work done, that $ 35 would be used toward the final price. He told me that Chris would be the technician dispatched on Wed. December 2 between 10am-​12.
Chris (technician) calls me from my rental property at approx. 1pm with a diagnosis of needing a «pair of springs as well as replacement of cables». He went on to explain how they use the best parts from Japan, not like their competition and he knows that I am out of the state and he «wouldn’t mess over me.» This is when I knew that I needed to get on the phone and check the high price in which he had quoted me to repair the springs & cables. I informed him that my cables should be fine because they had been repaired 6 years ago and he told me, «the cables are shriveling». This is when I know I needed «Chris» to send me a photo. 15 minutes later, he had my tenant forward a photo in which nothing was wrong with the cable in which I could see, so I informed him that I chose not to have the services done and I would pay the $ 35 service fee. Chris (technician) goes on to say that the total is $ 75 ($ 35 for coming out and $ 40 for labor). What Labor? I tell him that I needed to call the office to clear this up before, I give him any money. This is when Chris (technician) explains, «your garage door is a safety hazard and you should get this door repaired so it won’t fall on anyone and get them hurt». I appreciated his concern but what he didn’t know is, while he took 15 minutes to provide the photo of the springs & cable, I had called 2 garage door companies and they provided me with quotes of the following:
Company #1: $ 80 less expensive on the high side for pair of springs and cables
Company #2: $ 180 less expensive for a
pair of springs and cables
And to top it all off, Chris (technician) tells me that he will not be leaving my house until he gets paid the $ 75. I told him to have a nice day at my property. My tenant also informed me that he let the garage door fall which caused a crack & scratches on the door.
I called the office and spoke to Heather, who was very pleasant & totally understood my situation. I guess she called Chris (technician) and talked some sense into him. She also said that she would have the owner, Lex, contact me.
The owner did call and offer whatever to make it right but Chris (technician) had already made it WRONG! VERY WRONG!
I would never allow Chris (technician) to come by and give a quote!
To add insult to injury:
Company #2 came out on Thursday, December 3, and completed the work. They replaced the pair of torsion springs and told me they had lubricated, balanced & adjusted the door. Also, the cables were not broken & did «NOT» need to be replace, UNLIKE WHAT CHRIS (technician) had given me a quote for. SO, MY TOTAL BILL was a lower price to repair my garage door instead of the amount that «CHRIS (technician) had quoted! GO FIGURE… Some employees can drive a business into the ground, literary.

Chris and Justin did a great job. Replaced my spring in 20 minutes and the service was very affordable! I would highly recommend them.

I had an issue with my springs breaking on my garage door. When I called Quality Garage Door Services, they were very informative and professional. The technicians that came to my home were Chris and Justin. The really took the time to not only check all aspects of my door but explain what was needed and why. They were very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend Quality Garage Doors for all of your needs.

I had a Garage door problem and I was looking for an inexpensive way out, if possible. I contacted Quality Garage Door Services, They sent someone out immediately. When I got there They looked everything over and said, you need a New Garage door Opener and we can install it now for $ 499.00 or and off brand for $ 399.00. We said we would get back to them, they were mad and didn’t even want to do the Groupon, $ 32.00 Tune up.
Glad i waited, we contacted Parry’s Garage Door and Openers, A gentleman named Mark Gratton came out and within 5 Minutes or less diagnosed the problem. A $ 15.00 Capacitor. I asked him if we will be needing a Garage Door opener soon, so he went and checked all the wear parts on the machine and said no, this is in excellent condition and a much better machine than you can buy now days. The service call was $ 75.00 and the part $ 15.00. But I now feel confident my machine is in excellent condition. Parry’s sent me a Technician were Quality Garage Door Services sent me a installer. Don’t know about you but I will be calling Parry’s from now on.

This company is awesome… We had a situation that needed a service man in a hurry. We were leaving on vacation and one of the mechanisms broke that made it able for the door to close. Jeanette answered the phone and from the very beginning, was very kind and professional. She was able to dispatch a service tech right away and we were able to leave for our vacation right on time. Our tech Chris was very knowledgable and worked fast to fix the problem. The price was great and customer service was outstanding… I would recommend Quality garage doors to everyone.
