Nasty, nasty, nasty: the wrap was tasteless, so much so, that we asked to take it off our bill. The lettuce was limp, chicken no flavor. Corned beef: fatty, fatty, fatty. Fries: cold, waitress — no personality, no help, no apologies. Only good thing: they brought our dog — water & it’s pet friendly. Setting is nice.

I was visiting Orlando because I was told that if I’m ever on the east coast, I should stop by all the theme parks etc. The attractions were okay to say the least, I enjoyed myself. But our last night before leaving town, my boyfriend & I stopped by this pub because it was basically what we were in the mood. We sat on the patio because it was so damn hot! We ordered our drinks but were taking time looking at the menu since our flight wasn’t until late. As we were talking about what would hit the spot, a man & his«girlfriend» began getting hot & heavy with their kissing. Before anyone knew it they were having full-on plain view SEX on top of their table. No joke. No one was saying anything. We were glued to the situation. The waitress came over to apologize for the«disturbance,» asking if we were ready to order. As I was about to open my mouth I looked over to the otherwise engaged couple and said, «I’ll have what she’s having.» I’ll be honest, it made the food taste better,(which was decent to begin with). Of course the manager had to do something about it & the cops got involved, but it was the perfect end to a hot trip.

Oct 12, 2012 around 8:45, my husband and I walked into Paddy Murphy’s. They had a band, Relay, and it was very loud. We couldn’t see servers or a hostess so we just sat at the bar. The bartender, a redhead, asked us what we wanted. My husband explained it was our first time there, we didn’t know if there was any specials. She made a face and shrug her shoulders like she didn’t know what to recommend or make, so she said«do you like beer?, or liquor?, we then told her to bring us water. When she came back and asked us if we made up our minds. My husband asked for vodka and sprite. The drink had so much ice in it, it just spilled when she put it down. We even had to ask her for a menu. The bar wasn’t even that busy. This place was just a hot mess. We would never come here again… Ever!

We had our reunion there. They knew for months we were coming. They charged us $ 25 for two well drinks and a standard buffet. Their servers were not prepared. It took 20 minutes to get a drink and the the servers seemed put off that we were asking for them. I never saw the buffet. I think it was by the band, which was WAY too loud. I could not hear what anyone was saying, which really sucks because we were here specifically to talk. Once again, they knew this was the reason. The reason I pulled it down to one stars was there was a group of three punks(yes I am getting old) harassing us. Instead of taking matters into my own hands, which any good drunk Polish guy would do, I referred to the manager who spoke to them. The guys moved away but then continued to harass us our party. In fact, they were still there after 2 am, which really diminished the rest of the evening. Normally I would not let a single encounter upset me, but it really seems indicative of the staff and overall management of the place. They dont seem to care about the patrons, which is really what a pub is all about.

Paddy Murphy’s is that local neighborhood restaurant that’ll do. You don’t go out of your way to dine there, but it’s good enough that you don’t mind stopping by here and there for a drink and possibly some food. While the restaurant is a nice space; plenty of seating, a large bar and a small stage, the outdoor patio is where I like to be. You’ve got a nice view of Lake Baldwin and you won’t have to deal with the sun since most of the patio is covered. While I wish they had some music and ambient lighting it’s still a nice place to be. A lot of people enjoy getting an Irish beer at the bar. It’s a nice place to sit back and watch the game. If you stop by on Wednesday they have Celtic Night where a pint of Irish beers are only $ 3. They also have a few«Irish» specialty drinks for those looking for a bit more if a kick. Paddy Murphy’s has a number of Irish dishes, but they also have some of your typical bar grub as well. When we do dine here we prefer the Galway Dip and the Fish & Chips. They have a kid’s menu too, and the little ones eat free on Tuesday with the purchase of an entrée. Service can be a bit slow at times, but that’s ok since I’ll just take in the view while drinking my Smithwick’s. Paddy Murphy’s is a place that appeals to all. You’ll find families, couples with their dog enjoying the patio, and groups looking to have a good time. Paddy Murphy’s has daily drink specials and they will have entertainment here and there. Sign up for their newsletter to keep up to date on the happenings taking place. Paddy Murphy’s that casual neighborhood restaurant where it’s great to meet up with others. I do wish they would put some money into the place and make it be a restaurant where I’d want to go even if it wasn’t in the neighborhood. It’s frustrating to see so much potential go untapped.

I usually go here when my friends want to go; however, I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. The bartenders just seem disinterested in working there, and the shots are $ 7 each(according to our bartender last night). Really? $ 7? Sheesh. I ordered the Bangers and Mash — cabbage was practically raw, bangers were the worst I’ve ever had(cold, cheap tasting, no flavor, undercooked), and the mashed potatoes were so bland and had no seasoning(not even salt or pepper). They really need to up the quality of their food. For some reason, the plates come out really hot but the food is undercooked and cold? I don’t get it. If you go here, stick to the beers and anything on tap.

I’m writing this based on two recent visits — my only two. The first was a solid 4.5 and the second was barely a 1. FIRSTVISIT I sat at the bar and was attended to by a great bartender. My meal included the spinach salad and sliders — picked three, burger, corned beef and bbq pulled pork. The pork was really tasty, the burger average and the corned beef alright, though there wasn’t much. I actually removed the top bun so I could taste the corned beef. It was a great experience so when my boyfriend came for a visit, we went there for dinner. SECONDVISIT: Hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Ever. I ordered the slider sampler again and my boyfriend ordered the corn beef. Service was slow. That happens; however, so we could have overlooked that for the great patio seating(and good company!). We ordered dinner and it took easily 45 – 50 minutes. Annoying, but it happens. The waitress brought us one napkin and two forks. It took another 10 minutes for her to come back, and 10 after that until she brought us another napkin(we had to share), my side of bbq(that she forgot) and a knife. The food: Was lukewarm to cold. She told us ‘the kitchen lost your food so they had to remake it, it doesn’t make sense that it would be cold.’ After a few minutes of hemming and hawing, she asked if we wanted to have the kitchen refire it. At that point, we’d been there for an hour and ten minutes, so said no thank you, we would manage. My boyfriend’s platter had three strips of corned beef. It looked kind of sad and funny. During this conversation she also said, «I guess you win some and lose some. Things can’t be perfect all the time.» Ummm… WHAT? She came back, dropped the check and didn’t return… I bit into my burger slider and ITWASRAW. Do you know what it’s like to realize you’ve eaten raw beef? So we waited… we gave her another ten minutes and when she didn’t come back, I went inside and asked the hostess for a manager. Five minutes later a guy came out, asked about the problem and then responded with, «Ummmm… Okay. Ummmm… Give me a minute I need to talk to someone else.» We waited over ten minutes AGAIN and no one came to the table, so we took the raw burger, our check and walked into the bar. … And waited. Finally, the waitress came over with our check and said, «Oh. He discounted your dinner 25%.» Yeah. No. So we waited for the ‘manager’ again and explained that this was a truly horrific dining experience and 25% wasn’t going to cut it, especially since it had been more than 15 minutes since he came out in the first place. The lack of managerial leadership, combined with immature and inexperienced(or just sh*tty) waitstaff, and really nasty food, has soured me on the place.

The good things: Paddy’s has an huge oval bar which faces 8(maybe 10?) TV’s. They have the MLB package and all the various other sports packages and will turn on any game you want to watch. It doesn’t get very crowded, so you can almost always grab a seat with your friends at the bar or at a booth. Outdoor seating is plentiful, and there is a great view of Lake Baldwin and the runners & bikers around the trail. The bad things: I ordered the«hot wings» many times and received what I would call nothing more than Mild. Their sweet potato fries are acceptable, but not bad… unless there’s a long black hair in them like last time. I’ve tried a couple entrees, but I’ve never wanted to eat it all. Definitely don’t go for the food. I really don’t go there for anything except their sports packages. Beer selection is pretty normal for an Irish place. They carry the usual sports-bar selection of Miller, Bud, Heineken, Yuengling, and of course Guinness, Magner’s Cider & Smithwick’s plus Terrapin Hopsecutioner. If you’re hungry and in the area, go to Colibri or Seito for sit-down or Publix for a quick grab-and-go sub, then come here for the sports. If you’re not a sports fan, there really isn’t any hook here. Sorry.

Overall Paddy Murphy’s is a good place to catch a game and have a couple run of the mill beers. Great location in Baldwin Park. To be clear, this is not a ‘traditional’ Irish Pub(in my mind Fiddler’s) but the commercialized version. Beer selection: the usual domestic stuff with an occasional«main-stream» craft beer to surprise you(i.e. i was here last week and they served Terrapin Hopsecutioner on tap) Food: absolutely regular bar food; edible and definitely not even close to being as bad as Friendly Confines but in no way shape or form does their food come to being in the same run-on sentence as Oblivion Taproom’s tastiness. My wife and I will catch a game here every now and again. We generally do not eat here but will enjoy one of their«main-stream» craft brews.

This place completely squanders the opportunity to be a destination location. Great view, lots of space, sexy uniforms. But unfortunately it is really just a meheeea! OK. Nobody seems real excited to be there, staff or customers, and everything is just half azzed. It is not a gay bar, or a dedicated sports bar but there is a very peculiar shortage of women every time I go, cant quite figure it out? Might be the interior space, I would lower the ceiling about 10′, feels like I’m drinking with buddies in a warehouse.

I just give Paddys an average review. I love Paddys and go there about once a month. Location — 5 Food — 3 Beer selection — 3 atmosphere — 5 I find it odd they have no signage outside this pub/restaurant. I would like them to offer breakfast. I also suggest they keep their doors open. It doesn’t seem very inviting, I think they try to keep it to feel like a dark irish pub, but lets face it, they used the location that was going to be 310 park and it has soaring ceilings I love all the TVs around when it’s time to watch sports. I love the outside patio area. I rated the food a 3 because I don’t think they really make anything from scratch. I think the mashed potatoes were from a box, and that’s just sad in an Irish restaurant! I see it empty a lot of times.

What to say about Paddy Murphy’s? This is an Irish Pub that tried to set up their interior similar to the Ale House but it just didn’t quit work out. The interior is too open, the tables are too low, the lighting is weird, the bar is in a strange position, it just feel uncomfortable, which is why I always opt to seat in their lovely outside patio! The tables are nicely positioned, the view of the lake is great and the Christmas lights outside just make you feel cozy! I came here with an old buddy on a Monday evening, the place was dead, which doesn’t bother me and the drink specials were very special: $ 2 dollar beers, wells drinks or wines. We definitely took advantage of the specials. My expectations are always very low when I go to pubs or places similar to this and it wasn’t any different this time. For appetizer we tried the Spinach and Artichoke Dip(see photo) which came in a delicious bread bowl with freshly fried potato chips! I was pleasantly surprised by it. We devoured it as it as if the world was about to end in that instant, and it turns out it was a never ending bowl of dip! It felt as if we had been eating it non stop for at least 30 minutes. I was very pleased. As the main course my friend ordered the Bangers and Mash, and I ordered a burger with caramelized onions, perfectly crispy bacon, provolone cheese and sweet potato fries(see photos). I didn’t try my friends dish, but it smelled amazing and he pretty much inhaled all of it. My burger was a perfect juicy, cheesy, drippy mess and I loved every minute of it. My sweet potato fries dipped in honey made it all come to a full circle. I was a happy camper. Finally, as if these fat kids hadn’t had enough to eat, we went for the brownie ice cream dessert. It was blah. But of course, we ate all of it. Overall, Paddy Murphy’s is a great place to hang out, have drinks and greasy food in the outside patio while enjoying this beautiful weather ! Toodles!

To me, the 3-star(or lower) reviews of Paddy Murphy’s are pretty accurate. I’ve been here only once — last summer, during the World Cup game in which the U.S.A. was eliminated — but I think that experience may have been enough for me. Since I was here for only a few hours and had only one drink, I can’t say anything about the food, specials, etc. since I didn’t experience any of that. The service is probably pretty good, though it was extremely hard to tell during the day I was there since the place was P-A-C-K-E-D. I wasn’t expecting that at all. Some friends were meeting at Paddy’s for the game and, since I hadn’t been there before or even heard about it, I was thinking it would probably just be a place like Cheers(several Orlando-area locations). However, it’s much more involved and, on this day at least, populous. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one this happened to, but I ordered a Newcastle that day and instead was served either a Guinness or a Bass.(It definitely wasn’t a Newcastle.) Our table was very crowded, as was the rest of the establishment, so I didn’t want to say anything to our server since she was probably swamped and, if I wanted a different drink, I would’ve had to wait probably another 10 – 15 minutes. So, I just had what was given to me. No big deal. Anyway, Paddy’s likely is an okay place to go for some drinks and food, and you’ll probably have a better experience when you go than what I had when I was there. I’m assuming that it’s not as crowded in there on a normal weekend than it was during the World Cup. I may try to stop in again during a non-World Cup weekend(I’ve got about 3+ years until the next one) and see how it is. I’m sure it’ll be better, though I’m not sure my review, as far as stars go, will change too much. This, to me, is a 4-star place, at best.

As far as Irish pubs go here in America, it’s pretty average. It’s not too traditional when it comes to décor, and food, but there are a still a lot of traditional items on the menu, like the corned beef and colcannon, which is really good here. You’ll find some typical American pub food on the menu, and a few eclectic ones, like the Irish Nachos, which I’m ashamed to say taste devilishly good. The Guinness BBQ wings I have to say is the best thing on the menu. Drinks are a little pricey, but hey, it’s Baldwin Park, things are going to be pricey. That being said, it’s still a great place to go. The staff is friendly, and you’ll be likely to run into the owner on any given night. He’ll probably buy you a drink too, he’s a really nice guy, likes his customers and it shows. The live music is pretty good, and occasionally there are Celtic bands there. They have plenty of TVs, so you’ll always be able to watch your game. The bar staff there is what makes this place an enjoyable place to sit and have a few drinks.

Tried Paddy Murphy’s again a few days ago. This time I tried their Paddy Melt Burger which was a burger with Swiss, sauteed onions, mushrooms on rye bread. The sandwich was really good, although the meat was definitely one of those frozen burger patties. For an extra 75 cents you can get fries with your sandwich. The fries were definitely frozen as they didn’t taste very spectacular. They were dry on the inside, and flavorless. And no amount of ketchup, mayo, or honey mustard could make those suckers taste any better. As for the bar itself… it is lovely and HUGE. Lots of dark woods, huge booths, an outdoor patio, a huge bar area where patrons can sit, and plenty of beers and ciders on tap. I can’t comment on the service, as the two time we’ve been we’ve always been served by the same guy when the bar is super empty(I have only been there right after work).

Great view of the lake. Good beer choices. Poor food. We sent back the potatoes in the Bangers and Mash as they tasted like they were made from powdered base. Substituted sweet potato fries which were so-so. The bleu burger was lame. Dried up tomato on the burger, bun was tasteless. Want a good, relaxing spot to drink beer with a nice view, then this is the place. Eat elsewhere!

OK, really not so much — this is the most«Meh» of the Irish pubs in Orlando. We were on a pub crawl searching for the perfect Guinness which brought us to Paddy’s. Décor is definitely from the great ‘90s warehouse era with open ceilings, exposed ventilation, concrete floors and noise — lots of noise. This place is just unpleasant as a hundred conversations compete for vocal dominance. The menu is average — though truth be told, we didn’t eat. Bar was well stocked for Irish standards and the bar staff was barely attentive. Now, for the Guinness — pour was too quick, and not in a tulip glass. There was little care in the presentation and the ultimate taste had a bit of bitterness. Perhaps from lines needing cleaning, or too much CO2 in the tanks. Overall, I would come for the view of the lake — oh wait, that’s not really unique in O-Town. Ultimately — Meh…

I have to go with 4 stars for their chocolate cake. It was $ 5(and some change) of absolute deliciousness. As a hard-core dessert girl, I’ve tested and tasted many a chocolate cake. So I’m well aware of those that are old and taste dry. This one, whether it was homemade or not, was great. It was exactly what I was craving and made my Friday night that much better. Not what I expected from an Irish Pub but happy that I listened to the waitress’ advice!

This place is directly across from one of my fav Baldwin Spots: Colibri. Unlike the awesome outdoor dining of Colibri though, this is more secluded and not as open and free. In the afternoon it is so shaded there is hardly ever any sun. I have been here 2 times and it’s a clean, nice, roomy bar, larger than your average irish pub. They have cider on tap which is always a plus for me! The service, eh, not the best. Kinda slow and all really young and not on top of their game. Good spot to bring doggies if you have them though! The food is regular bar food. Overall this place has no wow factor but it’s not bad either. Good for a happy hour or a cider outside on a hot afternoon. They do have this dope patio at the top that is totally unused, I think that would have been a huge selling point, wonder if they will ever utilize it?
