A convenient deli with good sandwiches and good service. If you’ve read the reviews for other New York Delis in Orlando, you might be a little apprehensive about checking one out. However, when it comes to the New York Deli in the Citrus Club Building on Orange, rest assured that this is one of the better locations. I have been stopping by NYD about once or twice a month since moving to Orlando. It isn’t a very big restaurant, but it is connected directly into the Citrus Club Building, which makes it very convenient. When you arrive, the gentleman behind the counter will ask for your order. They only use Boar’s Head meat at this venue, so I should get the cold cut sandwiches, but I always tend to go for the Hawaiian chicken hot sandwich, which is very juicy and tasty. It takes them about 5 minutes to make my sandwich, which gives me a minute to pay, confirm that I want the free pickle with my sandwich, and check out their little snack area. They have all of your basics(soda, chips) as well as other deli foods. Since most people get their food to go, the place isn’t very crowded, so you can take a seat if you want to wait. Once your food is ready, they will call out your name, bring you a paper bag with your sandwich, and you’ll head out. Overall, NYD is a nice little sandwich shop with nice people and good sandwiches. If you are looking to get a quick bite to eat for a good price, you won’t go wrong stopping by New York Deli.

One of my favorite places to grab a quick bite downtown. This is my go to place when I am hungry and want something good, but don’t have a lot of time. They make everything daily there in the restaurant. Do not be discouraged if you walk in and see a line of customers. They MOVE people quickly. You get in and get out fast and BONUS… you get a great sandwich. The Chicken Salad is great. There use large pieces of chicken(think pulling apart a roasted chicken) rather than shredded small chicken pieces. They offer a chicken salad with grapes that is very good and the egg salad is a standard for them. So you get your food quickly, it tastes fantastic and the price? VERY reasonable. Can make it a combo with Chips, Drink and most sandwiches run under 8 bucks !

Downtown, casual, soup-and-sandwich fare served up quick– a solid choice for lunch. Great place to get a sub — and particularly on cold days, their revolving selections of soups are extremely popular. Easy to take stuff back to the office, but there are a few indoor and outdoor tables for dining/people-watching there.

This little coffee/sandwich shop in the BB& T building is a quick and easy place to grab a sandwich or a cup of coffee if you work downtown. They are almost always busy providing their patrons with common food choices; freshly sliced or freshly made. It also appears, and this is just my assumption, that the people running the Deli were family – they interacted in a playful, familial way, which is a nice attribute if it’s true. Their deli meats are excellent thanks to the brand they use, Boar’s Head. As you’d find in a true deli, they offer homemade sides such as pasta salad and macaroni salad. They also offer green salads and soups as well as breakfast items like extra large muffins and NY style bagels(bigger than normal). They have packaged fruit salad that looks fabulous – pineapple, strawberries, grapes, kiwi, along with a newer brand, Naked Juice, which has become a popular choice for many. The prices aren’t bad either. A small cup of coffee is only $ 1.35 and you have 4 choices of java to choose from. Plus, they provide two creamer options, sugar, sugar substitutes and the new trend, flavored syrups you can pump on your own. The sandwiches generally cost about $ 5.25 which isn’t bad considering the location and the convenience they provide. Nothing about this shop screams unique or interesting. But where they lack in distinctiveness, they make up for with consistency. You can order a turkey sandwich and a cup of soup and be completely fulfilled and satiated. Plus, as I mentioned, they are easy to get in and out of if you work further South on Orange. A-Okay in my book.
