I used to be a member for years. Harvey is an awesome barber and nice guy. He should and will do his own thing eventually. The owner and service there is really bad. Not conducive to a customer friendly attitude. Looking forward to looking Harvey up once he branches out. If you ignore the service the haircuts are great.

The shop has a wonderful atmosphere as it was my first time there. My boyfriend got the ultimate shave done. I was really excited for him to experience this, however we were both a little disappointed my the service. We felt as if the service was rushed and we both felt that he could have done a better job.

The gist: I go here on the regular and like it. I think they give good cuts and shaves and the people have always been more than friendly to me. It’s a tab pricey but I enjoy the experience so you’ve got to factor that in. *** I’ve been going to this place for… well…damn…I’m not even sure I can remember just how long I’ve been coming here but I know that it all started with the fact that I wanted a straight razor shave. With that said, I don’t think that I’ve had one of those in quite some time.(I’m really, really lazy now. And along with the extra girth that I’ve allow my midsection to acquire, I thought a beard would really perfect the aging, hipster look that I’ve got going on.) I go to Lisa and have for years. She’s sweet. She can always fine the time to fit you in and will always work her hardest to make sure that she does exactly as you say. I like that. When I WAS getting straight razor shaves, they were fantastic and I’m sure there are more than a few barbers in this location that would be more than happy to scrape your face. As a word to the«real shave newb,» this is a practice that will need a bit of time to get used to. Don’t be surprised if you have a limited amount of irritation after your first go.(I’m not saying that this will always happen but it does matter your skin type and how much of a precious, little flower you are…) I’m always greeted at the door. I get a free soda and a back rub. I like this place a lot and will go there until I no longer can. I would have gone a little higher on the rating but as with most things, as time went on, the price of the membership here went up. Since I’m a recently retired radio DB I decided to cancel my membership and just opt on paying per visit like a regular, stinky old poor person.(I’m kidding. I AM that guy now.) And to the guy that ruined the fact that they used to serve beer to you while you got your hair cut… I swear… as God is my witness if I ever find you, I will beat you until I can beat you no longer. ;)

Excellent place for a haircut and a shave! Also, if you are looking for Carr’s, you won’t fine it as they were renames Kennedy’s about a year ago. Only the name has changed as the great service with a smile remains.

It’s been a year since this place was reviewed, and I must say it truly deserves 5 stars! This is not your cheapo barber shop place you go to expecting to get in/out quick. It’s a place to RELAX and enjoy top of the line barber style haircuts and shaves in a very modern and chic type boutique. If you are looking for a $ 5.00 haircut; go elsewhere! However, if you want to be pampered, and don’t mind paying 25 bucks for a haircut and another 25 for a relaxing shave, then stop reading this post… and GONOW! I completely enjoyed the treatment I got. The ambience is very trendy, and what you would expect from the neighborhood it is in. There are also a few women working there as hairstylists for the ladies, and it definitely seems they are well trained and enjoy what they do as well. This is NOT just a place for men. Ladies I recommend you visit this artsy, cool place as well. It’s NOT cheap! be warned.

If you really like the rotating barber pole, you’ll really like Carr’s, done up in traditional barber styling, where men can go in and get a trim, a cut, and/or a shave. The problem is, you won’t pay a nickel anymore but the services offered remind you of days gone by. A Word of caution, though, a friend of mine signed up for the unlimited shaves deal, and they had made it incredibly difficult to schedule an appointment.

Not being a boy, I don’t know if I am really able to appreciate the appeal of an old fashioned Barber Shop. It was sure nice to see this business in Baldwin Park’s repertoire though. They offer a «signature cut» for $ 24 which includes a shoulder and neck massage. They also cut children’s hair(under the age of 15) and provide complimentary sodas and coffee while you’re there. A very cool throwback to simpler days.
