Karen’s Tasty Crabs

Absolutely addictive garlic butter sauce! Lots of great combos and snow crab and shrimp are fresh and meaty.

Tried Karen’s tasty crabs while visiting Orlando from Duval aka Jacksonville, Fl –though the wait was excessively long ~1hr and service company lacked warmth and cordiality– the food was absolutely amazing! Usually I prefer my seafood really spicy usually but Karen’s flavor was sooo good that I I didn’t feel as thought I was missing anything – (tastes as though there’s a bit of curry spice in it) My absolute fav was the oysters … Wow… Oh and the lemonade was something like liquid gold in a cup! The homemade cocktail sauce was the best I’ve ever tasted but the fried shrimp seemed to be like Seapack frozen shrimp found in your grocers frozen food section —which was quite a let down. Other than the fried shrimp, long wait and lack of cordial service — I definitely intend to return but will most certainly call ahead and strongly recommend if you’re gonna give them a try that u do the same!

Great place to eat, order at counter and pick up there to eat at tables inside. Tables were clean and the seafood was excellent, perfectly seasoned and so good. We have the customer #1 choice of crab legs, shrimp corn and poatotoes.
Our meal for 5 of us was only 35.00 so very resonanable priced. Would eat here again and highly recommend the food here, good service.
Only thing is the men’s room was having technical difficulties.

Delicious! Visiting the area we wanted seafood. Looked on Unilocal read the reviews and decided to this was the place for dinner! We were not disappointed. Two of us ordered the $ 44 platter. More than enough for two. We also had the oysters (steamed) … So very good! The crab rice was good. Overall this place was an AWESOME Experience! Go try it! We will be back.

Our family wanted seafood so me and my mother went there. We got there at 8:50p.m. and they close at 9p.m. With no problem they still were able to fill our 6lb order of seafood. The whole crew who works including Karen the owner and her son was so nice and hilarious! I promised them we would take a picture of the food but as soon as we got home Karen’s seafood seasoning hit our noses and we had to dive in. THE BEST seafood in town!!!

It was fantastic! We ordered crab legs, shrimp, corn on the cob, and potatoes. After a few bad meals in Orlando, we tried this place and was not disappointed! I wish we would have found it earlier so we could eaten there again. See you next time Karen!

Food was worth every penny. It’s real seafood, not junk, fast food people. I can’t wait to go back for a family get-​together.

Had to do a follow up. I have been going here once a week for fresh seafood for the last 5 weeks. Never disappointed. And for being a loyal customer, on Saturday, they threw in a free lb of snow crab legs (see below).
Tasted delicious. Well seasoned. Juicy meat.
The hush puppies are great. Not that frozen kind. You can tell everything is fresh. Nothing frozen. Very friendly service. Highly recommend. Careful they are closed Sunday and Monday’s.

I’ve been craving seafood so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the $ 31 special– 1lb snow crab legs, 12 shrimp,½ lb potato, 2 pieces of corn. I also added on a bowl of crab rice for $ 5. And their lemonade $ 2.
Everything was delicious. The crab rice was made with imitation crab in order to keep the price affordable. I didn’t mind it because I like imitation crab and plus they give you a lot for $ 5. The lemonade was a bit to sweet for me.

The parking was opened. Walked in and was expecting more of a sit down Saavy restaurant but the seating arrangement and space was real laughable. Don’t let it be a busy moment where a lot of people want to sit down and eat, they’ll loose business for sure. Ordered many different things off the menu and the lady that look our order was very nice and gave recommendations but pricey recommendations. Did expect high prices and that’s what I got (no let down there lol). 35 to 45 mins wait for food (expected).
More importantly the food was beyond great! We ended up ordering again after we sat in and ate. Unfortunately no garlic noodles.

We ate crab, shrimp, potatoes, two type of corn, conch fritters.

Karen and her staff are wonderful.
Her niece cooked our food and — God bless her always — it was truly amazing.
The décor is casual and beachy with a very comfortable groove — you feel you are part of a family when you order but no one bothers you while you eat — the perfect mix!
This place truly is delicious and should not be underestimated.
I would even venture to say they would be perfect for catering for a tailgate or football party or games night type scenario — anytime friends share food.
Wonderful place

Went to Karen’s for the first time last night. I was a bit hesitant because the parking situation was tight due to a comedy show next to restaurant, but once I landed a spot I went in and found a nice Caribbean-​like atmosphere. We ordered to-​go, but snagged a table to dig in while there. Note, there are about 10 tables that were all full… we got a table after another couple left.
The food was awesome! I had the 2lbs snow crab with shrimp, corn, and potatoes. The seasoning is the bomb and was not drowned in butter like other seafood places that I’ve been to, and you get a lot for your money.

When it comes to looking for a great seafood restaurant. Stop looking Karens Tasty Crab has great food. Im talking about quality, consistency in taste and flavor. Food is always fresh and never to fishy. But most important the customer service is amazing. I go in and it feels like family. not like a big chain looking to get my money. Just great people

Disappointment for the money. We spent over $ 60 for the family meal which was very little in the way of seafood. Medium sized tray of crab, corn and potatoes. They stated their is 3lbs of food but it was half that. Fritters were ok but $ 1 a pop. Felt ripped off and will not return.

I’m from Miami and I took a trip to Orlando with my daughter and we had a taste for some garlics crabs and I found this place. The food was amazing and the people who work there were very friendly. The boil eggs, Dungeness crabs, and corn were the best!!! I highly recommend this place. The food was Delicious!!!

I just left Karen’s tasty crabs and may I say they’re oh so tasty! We were greeted by professional and courteous staff members! I ordered the $ 44 combo, the portion size was so large! I typically go to a buffet spot however, I would pay the extra money here because I couldn’t even finished the two pounds in this combo! I definitely will be coming back here when I’m in Orlando.

I have been working across the street for years and finally walk into this place. Well boy I’m I glad, should have done it sooner! I got the shrimp sampler and was not sorry. The shrimp was big in garlic seasoned butter with, lies of sausage and potatoes and corn on the cob. They cook to order. My food as oh so good can’t wait to go back and try to crack corn and crab rice. Wished they were opened for lunch!

A place where the sea really meets the pot. Looks can and will be deceiving but it will be a treat for your senses if you really enjoy sea food. This place doesn’t exaggerate its preparations nor does it boast of too many option. I was on a trip to Orlando and me and my wife had decided to have crabs/​lobsters for weeks. I had to be right to choose from the many options I had, and I sure didn’t fail before her.
Tried the customer#1 pick. Its was delicious.
A must stop for me anytime I am 100 miles of this place again.
