I am so sad to announce that when I went here today the place had a for sale sign on it. :-( Anyone know about any other italian beef places in Orlando? Some one just contacted me and told me that the place was still open that they are moving locations, But when i pulled up there were no cars and forsale signs everywhere. Hope its still open so I can finally go there and taste the Yummy Beefs

My hubby asked me to meet him here one day, I was unsure because of where it was located near Paramore but it didn’t matter at all. The food was incredible, the staff was very accommodating and nice and I loved the feel of it being a small family business. It was one of those places where if you went often enough you’d get to know the staff and become family. I don’t get downtown much but if you’re in the area go stop by and support this business. The food was super fresh and very tasty. I’ve never had Chicago beef but I now have a new favorite! Trying to spread the word about this unique place as much as I can. Hate to see chains everywhere, support local business!

After having some good Italian beef sandwiches in Chicago and having Phillippes in LA, I was curious to see what Orlando calls their Italian Beef. Ordered mine with fries and it was pretty tasty. Worth checking out if you’re looking for a quick and easy one.

The roast beef was good, but not good enough that I would go back. Had a roast beef sandwich the traditional way, dipped with mozzarella and hot peppers. It was very heavy and filling, but in my opinion the flavor wasn’t really there. The mozzarella was horrible, highly processed stuff. Large sandwich was $ 8 but very filling. They were out of fries(which I’ve read are good) so we didn’t get a chance to try them, no biggy. Employees were friendly. Restaurant itself was tiny and the décor was lacking, but not something I really care about anyway. Overall, a decent spot that’s too out of the way for me to be worth a second chance.

Having lived in Chicago for 4 years, I like to consider myself a connoisseur of the Italian Beef sandwich. You could even say I’m a little obsessed… I just love that darn sandwich! Because of this, Italian Beefstro has been on my radar for awhile. I finally made it over for lunch with a co-worker recently. Said co-worker is equally as fond of the Italian Beef. In fact we even joke that we are bonded by the beef. And maybe we even talked about starting a club called The Secret Beef Society. You know you want to join! The Beefstro is located on, what some may consider, the less desirable side of Colonial, on the corner of Paramore. The outside has a cute, kitschy look complete with a fountain adorned patio. I was surprised to see that the front door had a for sale sign. And yes, for a split second the thought«Could I buy this place??» crossed my mind, followed by «I could call it the Italian Beef Palace… and then I could be the Italian Beef Princess of Orlando!» But then I quickly snapped back in to reality. The inside is on the small side. The décor is… well…uh…interesting. I’m guessing it’s supposed to be Italian vineyard themed. Kind of reminded me of an old person’s house… lots of fake plants. We walked up to the counter to order and were greeted at the register by whom I’m guessing was the owner’s son. When asked why they were selling the place, his response was that business isn’t good enough and if it doesn’t improve soon they will have to close down. He also mentioned something about how people from Orlando don’t know good food, and that they are lazy and only like drive thru’s with $ 1 menus. My co-worker and I were a bit surprised at his comments being that we’re both Orlando-ins, and he essentially just insulted people who live Orlando. I don’t think he did it intentionally, but it did catch us off guard. I ordered an Italian Beef dry w/gravy on the side, cheddar and hot giardiniera peppers. My co-worker ordered the same but got hers traditionally dipped in the gravy and topped with sweet peppers as well. We decided to split a side of fries. Then the man at the register handed us a number for our table and told us to take a seat anywhere. Once we sat down, I noticed it started to get fairly crowded. You could tell some people were regulars. Many were chatting it up and laughing with the husband and wife owners, who seemed super friendly. We didn’t wait long for our food, and once it came out I couldn’t wait to dive in! I very much enjoyed my sandwich. Although it wasn’t as good as a Portillo’s Italian Beef, of all the Italian Beefs I’ve tried in Orlando, it is my favorite. And that’s saying a lot! The bread was good, the beef well seasoned and the giardiniera was perfectly hot and tangy. The only thing I didn’t love was the gravy… it was a little too oily. The fries actually reminded me of fries from Portillo’s — crinkle cut and salted just right. When we were done eating one of the owners stopped by to take our plates and ask if everything tasted alright, which I thought was nice. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Italian Beefstro. I hope they are able to stay open awhile longer so I can come back for my next beef fix!

This place is perfection. Have been meaning to try it for some time now and I’m sad I just got the chance. Came in for lunch with a friend and the owner was super friendly. He pretty much recommended everything on the menu but I knew the beef sandwich was what it was all about. Ordered the sandwich and fries topped with garlic oil, parm, and giardiniera. Both were phenomenal. I mean, I was seriously tearing up from how good it was. Simple done right. If you’ve been passing this place by, you’ve been missing out. Give it a shot, it’s worth it!

The Italian Beef Sandwich is phenomenal! I stopped in for lunch and split one with my husband. The whole sandwich is a huge portion! The meat was tender and juicy and the peppers had a wonderful flavor. I love their spicy pickled peppers! We also split an order of fries. I loved it all! The service was great. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The restaurant is fairly small and very casual. If you are craving an Italian sandwich I highly recommend you check this place out!

Again, Unilocal comes through. Craving a sandwich and found this place. Would never have thought about stopping, with the outdoor patio, fountain, and right on colonial(can’t forget the Italian music playing on the outside) kitschy on the inside with fake vines, Italian styling and arched wall with a faux port scene. They also have nice granite counters and a stand up bar with television(no idea if they work or not). Outstanding. Focus is on on sandwiches and hot dogs and salads. Order the Italian beef with sweet peppers, gardinare, dipped with fries. Nice and juicy, lots of flavor. Looked around and the wedge salad looked good as did the hot dogs. Worth a stop if you are in the mood for a Chicago style sandwich.

Had a hot roast beef sandwich with cheese. It was succulent and filling. Very good and the service was warm and friendly… very genuine. I shared the sandwich with my sister and split the Greek salad too. Very filling when you are in the mood for beef. Love the pepper relish!

Holy Sweet Meat Bun Batman!(Batman was filmed in Chicago, so just go with me on this Chicago theme) This Beefstro isn’t just a pretty name! It is a Chicago staple sandwich! And I’m talking about the Italian Beef sandwich, made famous in beautifully cold Chi town. They may not know how to make a World Series Championship baseball team(ignore the White sox), but they sure have mastered the art of shaved roast beef drizzled with au jus juicy juice sandwich. I had one on Friday, tried to go back Sunday(closed), and now need to get one after work today. They are THATGOOD. Get em with the hot giardiniera(pickled veggies, nice spice) and it adds a crunch and delicious heat to the sandwich. I got it with the mozzarella, but I think cheese is really just an afterthought, totally unnecessary as the star of the show is the thin sliced meat, amazing juice, and let us not forget the crunchy french baguette that holds its form long after you fall in love with it. Wish I could say the same for the misses. Hiii yooooo! ok. That was just in poor taste… But not this sandwich! The taste is always in high fashion and always respectable and delicious!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm — this place knows what’s up when it comes to good old fashion family business. I was always told to check this place out by Carl G. and I finally made it in yesterday. I was in a bit of a rush so I didn’t have much time to look over the entire menu and just went with an italian beef with provolone and half of an italian hoagie to go. The woman who runs the place is a sweetie! We were chatting about great cheesesteaks and she refereed me to LaSpadas, which I have been and love — so good! You also can see everything prepped and it’s so clean which is awesome. There is seating inside and out and even though the outdoor seating is on 50, it’s relaxing with a nice water fountain. I will have to hit this place up and dine there sometime. The italian beef was good, had tons of flavor and great provolone cheese. But as with both sandwiches from this place, the star was the bread! So soft and fresh I felt like I was up north. The Italian sub was perfect with fresh cold cuts and oregano, delicious! 5 stars for customer service 5 stars for bread the rest is awesome but has to get up there with the cust service and bread =)

My friend Lynn is from Chicago. And all the time we worked together she would wax on poetically about the Italian Beef sandwiches she could get in Chicago. So a few years ago, when we both happened to be visiting the windy city at the same time, I met up with her for lunch so she could introduce me to this gastronomical phenomenon. We walked high and low in search of the perfect lunch spot, and finally we asked a cop who pointed us in the direction of a place. After placing our orders for two with gravy(marinara sauce) we sidled up to the counter to chow down and I finally understood her passion for this beefy, juicy, messy, spicy(if you use the giardiniera relish) and most importantly tasty sandwich. The Chicago natives who own the place are very friendly and happy to share their hometown food with you. Skip the fast food chains for lunch and give a family owned business some support. Prices range from $ 4.95 — $ 5.99 for sandwiches and $ 5.99 — $ 7.99 for a lunch salad. A side of fries which is big enough to feed two will run you $ 2.15. They serve Pepsi fountain drinks, tea, coffee, beer and wine. So here you go Lynn — a little piece of Chicago Italian beefiness has opened up right in our own backyard. If you hail from Chicago and long for a real Italian beef and/or traditional Chicago style Vienna beef hot dog, get yourself down to the Italian Beefstro located on West Colonial at Parramore. Actually, whether you are from Chicago or not — this could easily be «your kind of place»!
