Amazing food! First time here but our waiter Scott had fantastic suggestions. From the roast duck baos to the Pad Thai, we enjoyed every single bite. Will definitely be back soon!

A friend and I decided on a random weekend night to go to Hawkers and we were happy with our choice. The only downside, I would say, was the wait because this place does have a tendency to get crowded on weekends. We did come a little later in the night on a whim so if you can make a reservation or call ahead, I recommend so. The food did not take long and the pad thai I had was delicious. The noise level is high and the tables are a little close together but I had a good dining experience.

Asian street fare heaven! I love this place! Been here many times and they never fail on great food and good service. The atmosphere is casual and trendy with all sorts of seating from high top and regular tables. They offer outside seating as well. The menu has a wonderful variety of dishes to choose from. All dishes come out as they are made. Parking and the wait to get in is sometimes a challenge but it is well worth it! The standard and quality they have, has kept me going back and says a lot about their restaurant. Hawkers is a definite must if you are in the Mills Ave area.

Not going to lie was a little hesitant about trying this restaurant. It always seemed busy but when I reviewed the menu online it didn’t draw me in. Well… I am glad I went in. The portions sizes are great. You are able to order multiple dishes to try, so over sampling can happen, though in a good way. The lettuce wraps with beef have an amazing taste and are season delightfully. The five spice fries come with a ducksauce, these were hard to stop eating. Each item was better than the next. Only disappointing items that we ordered was the chicken satay skewers. They did not have great seasoning. Also the pork crisps were definitely crispy but the taste did not do anything for my palette. This restuarant is worth trying, affordable and tasty in a modern style setting.

Came here on a Tuesday evening, and this placed was pretty busy. We checked in at the front and had about a 10 minute wait to be seated. Food is served as it’s made so you won’t get it all at the same time. The small plates were the right amount to get a taste of everything, especially for a table for 4. The pork belly was fried and oily but i loved it. The buns were pretty good as well! Of the two soups we got my favorite would be the laksa. The prawn mee reminded me of tom yum so it wasn’t anything special. Curry duck noodles were pretty delicious as well. We also orders the signature wings, but I didn’t find them to be out of this world, just fried chicken. My top 2 favorites if you are going is the curry laksa and the curry duck noodles! Yes I know lots of curry but it was truly yummy!

The hype is well deserved. The food is delicious! I tried the korean bbq tacos and the curry meatballs, both of which I would get again. However, I think my next visit will be for their happy hour. They have small plates for $ 3 from 3pm-6pm, which is a fantastic deal. The menu seemed a little overwhelming at first, but the service was friendly and very willing to explain the menu.

After a previous negative experience here, the owners quickly reached out to us to ensure our next visit would be a positive one. I brought my parents here a little over a week ago while they were visiting from up north. We were promptly seated and our server(Ying I believe her name was) explained the menu to my parents and quickly returned with our drink order. She was phenomenal the entire evening! As for food we ordered five spice calamari, wings, chicken egg rolls, chicken skewers, rice, noodles, and papaya salad. We all shared the dishes and decided that the wings were the best! They were amazing. Crunchy, not fatty, and the five spice was delicious. My papaya salad came tossed in fish sauce(yuck, the smell turns my stomach) but our sever brought me one without the sauce and it was fresh and delicious! I topped mine with peanut sauce, which I highly recommend. We finished with a Thai tea, which ended up being the best Thai tea we have had in Orlando! Overall, service was excellent this time around and the food just as amazing. Glad we gave it another try and my family definitely will return here.

Absolutely amazing! We were invited back in for a second try and it did not disappoint! The service was out of this world and the food was even more amazing. We came in for dinner while my fiancés parents were in town! We were very excited to take them there because we loved the food so much. It was mildly busy but we were able to sit right when we walked in. Out waitress was Ying(if I remember correctly) and she did an outstanding job. She was super nice and attentive. She gave a very good break down of the menu and gave her suggestions. She was more than willing to accommodate our every need and was probably the best server I’ve had at any restaurant! Now onto the food. I started off with the chicken egg rolls as an appetizer. Which were so fresh tasting and literally right out of the fryer because it was hot! Then I also ordered the curry meat balls that came out in a delicious curry gravy! After that I got the chicken fried rice. The chicken was so fresh and cooked just right. The fried rice was cooked well and wasn’t too oily. I really wanted to order dessert but I was way too stuffed! So I got a Thai iced tea to go and it was absolutely THEBEST Thai iced tea I’ve had in Orlando! So creamy and sweet!

Unilocal brought me here, but the attitude and life inside the restaurant hinted at an adventure to come. I am like most people who look at the top 3 best restaurants for different cuisines, but every now and then I become my own little version of Anthony Bourdain. I look for foods that explode with flavor; but when I lose my care for table etiquette, then I know I truly landed in a good place. I order out of order, I eat with no care of etiquette, and I tell my health to sit by as I order enough food for four when there are just two of us. I could tell you what I picked out of the menu, but I can confidently say that you won’t be disappointed by anything. Enjoy, friends.

How is it possible I haven’t reviewed Hawkers yet? Maybe it’s because I’m too busy stuffing myself full of Roti, stir fried udon or kimchi fried rice to write a review. Go with the flow here. Food comes out randomly, like a delicious lottery. And service is done by a team. So come with friends, share amazing flavors, and then order more Roti.

Definitely a fan. We have been here quite a few times, but mostly for happy hour. I’d recommend you try to hit them at the beginning of happy hour, or off lunch times, since the parking lot is smaller and it gets busy at peak hours. The happy hour menu is small but plenty. The edamame here is a personal fave. Pricing is good for the quantity. Staff has been friendly each time and checks on us regularly throughout, without being over bearing or rushy. Overall: A Go for happy hour. Get there a touch early for parking and seating.

I don’t have a Thai grandma but I did work with degenerate gambler and alcoholic Thai chef who used to cook banging family meals for the restaurant I used to bus tables;(RIP Mr. Young) His Pad Thai was a perfect balance of spicy and tangy unlike those purists that demand authenticity I was happy with the Pad Thai at Hawkers so if you complaint that this grub ain’t legit get your granny to work the hot line. The tables are uncomfortable close so close that the diner next to me suggested the Pad Thai. That’s the beauty of this place, the buzz of patrons enjoying flavorful food for a reasonable price in a sociable setting.

I don’t even know where to start with how good this place is. My Mom and I ordered twice in a week. No lie. The only dish that we were eh about was the basil fried rice.

NOT100% AUTHENTICBUTSTILLVERYDELICIOUS = First of all, the food here is yummy BUT authentic? It’s authentic in a way that wedding caterers have good food but aren’t quite like the original. And for the prices I’m sure you can find bigger portions of most dishes at other, local restaurants. HOWEVER, Hawkers is still very appealing for other reasons. FUN, FOODPARTYWITHANASIANTWIST = Small, shareable plates are the norm here so it’s especially great if you have a group and want to try many different cuisines. Thankfully there’s enough unusual dishes(by American-Asian restaurant standards) to make eating here an adventure such as Curry Mashed Potatoes and Roti Canai. Since portions are small, I suggest you venture out of your culinary comfort zone. BEAUTIFULSURROUNDINGSAND I FEELLIKEDRINKING = Hawkers is in a restaurant-growing area of Orlando and although the street may not look the best, this place is pretty hip both in and out. I like how the tabletops are decorated with newspapers. Like I said, for really authentic dishes at lower prices, I’d rather visit those nearby mom-and-pop restaurants. However when I’m with a group of friends, party mood, convenient, and seeking more than one type of Asian-style dish – Hawkers all the way.

3.5 if it makes this any better but I know this place specializes more for small plates but wished for something better. The restaurant itself is beautiful, very modern great for friends to sit together and catch up but also a tad bit cramped in there(I know the whole life story of the girl that sat at the table beside mine): I ordered a Lychee Black Tea and my boyfriend ordered Thai Tea. They were both good, but know we can go to an Asian boba/tea shop for more product for the same price with the same or better quality. We started with the Pork Belly Bao and both decided to get soup since he was craving ramen that day. +Pork Belly Bao Nicely braised pork belly topped with the usual cilantro and herbs, just wished there was more of a sauce to it +Miso Ramen My boyfriend ordered it since he was craving ramen, but knew from the beginning it was gonna be a disappointment(hello, they’re not Japanese). Nothing about it was appealing whatsoever and he finished it not to be a waste. He even started eating half of my soup +Curry Laksa I was indecisive on what to order so our lovely waitress recommended this soup to me because it was rated as the best soup in Orlando recently. I hate Indian curry, but Asian curry has my heart and had a nice flavor mixed with coconut milk. It had an egg, shrimp, chicken, tofu, and some veggies and made up for my boyfriends shitty ramen. I finished the last drop of soup this came with because it was that good and recommend trying this out here!

I must confess that as a huge fan of Hawkers, I am guilty of procrastination for not writing this review sooner. Hawkers is unique and special, the acoustics inside the place are horrible, no doubt as a result of the vaulted ceilings and bare walls that have the effect of making the sound bounce around and never really leaving the premises. This, however, makes the place interesting and gritty and we haven’t even started talking about the food. I always favor the Tom Yum soup accompanied by whatever random vegetable I feel like having any given day. Bottom line, the experience is always positive and satisfying. Only drawback, huge wait at certain hours. We actually never wait, if there is one, we turn around and head elsewhere.

This place is the BOMB diggity! They have an extremely diverse menu. It’s got Malaysian, Chinese, and Vietnamese influences. All dishes are prepped with a little something that makes them traditional but slightly different. The pork belly was heavenly. Crispy, but not overly fried, the fat was creamy. Crispy black bean cod, was extremely well balanced and paired nicely with the Roti and Fried Rice. The Lettuce wrap was also a nice palette cleanser. Fresh spring rolls were ok, but nothing special. Service was impeccable. If you need an Asian fix, swing by here. Incredible high quality food at value prices.

My favorite restaurant in Orlando. Their fare samples from dishes across Southeast Asia executed well and for the most part authentically — but where they deviate from strict interpretations of the flavors, the result is still quite good and, I feel, captures the«essence» of the dish. The concept for Hawker’s is right in the name: it’s inspired by street hawkers found selling treats on the streets of every town and city throughout Southeast Asia. It also seems to take a cue from Singapore’s concept of «hawker stations» where food stands are gathered into a common ‘food court’ like space where you can choose from a variety of dishes and styles. The walls actually feature some pretty cool photos of real hawkers from around Asia. We are in Indonesia, Singapore and the like fairly often(my wife is Indonesian-born and I am Eurasian), and when coming back to Florida, it’s definitely hard to find tasty renditions of things like Singapore Mei Fun, Nasi Goreng(Indonesian), Char Kway Teow, Laksa and Mee Goreng. This is an oasis in a desert Southeast Asian cuisine that’s not Thai-only. They also started featuring a selection of Bao buns. Also, because they use actual quality ingredients, their food doesn’t use added MSG(beyond what is naturally occurring in soy sauce, etc.). I am MSG sensitive, and this is a worry with almost every Asian joint — and I’m skeptical when this is claimed. However, true to their word they didn’t use it, as I had no adverse reaction. The design of the dining area is cool. The atmosphere is like an upscale loose rendition of a hawker station, with ‘aluminum siding sheet’ and reclaimed wood plank wall accents, distressed metal chairs and stools like you’d see in a food stall(but comfy), and asian newspaper print designs on the tables to represent using the material as table coverings. Overall, the experience is great each time we visit. The restaurant uses a small-plate format(aka«tapas» portions to use Florida-friendly lingo) and diners share them ‘family style’, progressively ordering throughout the meal. Their menu is extensive, and thus far we haven’t had anything bad, but here are some highlights: Singapore Mie Fun: rice noodles cooked in curry. It’s a dry dish, not a soup. It tastes great and captures the spirit of Singapore’s fusion pan-asian cuisine — of which this is a perennial favorite. Curry Laksa: egg noodles in a coconut curry stew, loaded with a boiled egg, shrimp and chicken. Delicious, and something a bit hard to find other places! Roti Canai: Malaysian flatbread with a red curry dipping sauce. If you like Indian Naan or Chinese scallion pancake bread, you’ll like this. Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng are likewise are hard-ish to find elsewhere, as they are Indonesian staples, but restaurants specializing in Indonesian food are rare. A final note is that one of the items they get right in capturing the ‘street food’ flavor of the region is that they use wood charcoal grills, not gas. When traveling through the region, you do notice that this is the method used by actual cooks in the area, particularly street vendors — as wood charcoal is far more affordable in these places than propane. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere. This falls just short of a four rating, though. Picking out different small plates was very fun. My husband and I ordered 6 dishes. Basil fried rice-we ordered it with pork. It was good tasting. But it was really, really oily. Wouldn’t recommend. Curry Mash-my husband loved it. I started to eat a large piece with a hard potato. It was really hard and I didn’t have a knife to cut it with so I avoided it. There were softer, yummier pieces in the mash though and that was delicious. A great way to eat mashed potatoes. Pork Belly Baos-I ordered these by mistake. I meant to get duck. Did not enjoy. 5 Spice Chicken-This was my husband’s choice. The texture reminded me of tofu. Neither of us liked it. Roth Canai-OH THANKHEAVEN, ORDERTHISITCOSTSLESSTHAN $ 2! Potsickers-decent I will definitely go back to try the duck and more roti. And the roti dessert!

I found Hawkers through a random list of ‘Places to Eat in Orlando’ I found online. I showed it to my friend and he was looking through he pictures on Unilocal and he says«OMG everything looks so good! I don’t know what to order». I didn’t think much of it, I just said«Okay, let’s go». So when we get there on a Friday night, it was poppin’ but we didn’t have to wait for a table. I love that they have a pretty big parking lot to themselves as well. I was pretty skeptical because as we walked in, only the hostess was asian. I was thinking, oh no… we walked into a white-washed asian place, it’s not going to taste good. Still with skepticism, I look at the menu and ordered a lychee black tea($ 2.50) as my drink. YUM! After I tasted it, I was like okay, okay. I have a pretty good start to this dinner. I was savoring it because I thought it wasn’t free refills, but it IS! I’m happy! When come time to order, we had no idea what to get. My original plan was to go on a food tour of Orlando(meaning eat a little bit of this and a little bit of that from different restaurants). My friend ordered the Pad Thai, and this was where I gave him the lecture. «WHAT? YOU’REGOINGTOGETPADTHAIHERE? You can get pad thai anywhere, and especially back at home where it’s more authentic!» So he wanted to change his mind but I told him to order that anyway and we can order other things that we don’t normally see back home. We first ordered the chicken wings with honey Sriracha sauce and pad thai and they came out. WOW, I must give it to him… the pad thai was DELICIOUS! I stand corrected. The wings was also good! Right now I’m thinking, I’m sorry I ever doubted you. We also ordered 2 other dishes: Hokkein Mee and Malaysian Prawn Mee. Both were good but not as good as the Pad Thai. The Hokkein Mee is another noodle dish that wasn’t spicy but pretty flavorful. I added chili oil and Sriracha to add a kick. The Malaysian Prawn Mee was a soup and it’s pretty spicy(but not really). The spice got stuck in my throat and I kept coughing, it sucked. Prices were reasonable. DEFINITELYRECOMMENDTHISPLACE! I wanted to come back here before we left but we had no time. :(
