First Choice Pediatrics

Waiting time 2 hours … Unbelievable! Then they wanted to give my kid a shot she already got.

Awesome experience, the staff is beyond superb. The attention to detail and the office environment is state of the art, well worth the visit.

Well, Ill tell you one thing about First Choice Pediatrics, If you have a confirmed appointment be prepared to wait an 1 hour. Also, once your inside there examine room a person with a lab coat and stethoscope walks in without even introducing themselves. Oh wait, its the Pediatrician, no introduction and no eye contact. I also timed the visit, WOW 2 minutes, I hope FCP reads this, but I know they wont care because they will probably ignore it and say «Oh well we have alot of patients anyways» I am in the medical field myself, I would not recommend FCP, by the way this visit was in the Alafaya location.

I have been going to this Dr. office since January, never had a problem. Then today, it was the 18 month check up for my baby, YEAH! WELL, I got there 10 minutes early, (don’t want to be penalized for being late) sign in and I take my seat with my 2 lil girls. At 9:45a, mind you the appt was at 9a, I get up to ask what is going on. They have already called back 2 ppl that came in after me! I was told there are 2 Dr. s working at the time and they are calling pt’s back for both Dr.s. 10:05a I decide that now that 4 ppl that have come in after me have been called back, that I will just reschedule, as I was on time, but now I have sat here for 45 minutes, I have better things to do with my time. At 10:10a as I was still at the reception window rescheduling they were going to call me back. I asked to speak to a corporate office as they have 3 locations, there has to be someone to talk to. She offered to have the Office Manager, Nick, to come talk to me.
Nick came to speak with me and told me that 30 minutes is not a LONG time to wait in a waiting room with 2 toddlers, waiting for the Dr. to see us. As that may be true, I watched 4 ppl who came in after me go back before me. He then proceeded to tell me that the Dr. was ready to see me and trying to convince me to stay for this appt, even tho I had already rescheduled. Now he wants me to stay here longer! Nick then tells me that going to the park with my kids should not take precedence over a Dr. appt that was now 1hr ago, and that he should charge me the $ 15 cancellation fee! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I was on time, I have watched others who came after me be called back while I sit here with a 3yr old and and 18 month old.
I mean how late can I be before you charge me $ 15 and make me reschedule, should I really sit in the waiting room and wait longer than that time so see the Dr.?!

I needed to switch Doctors after loosing my insurance and Dr Portugal was on the list.
I heard great things about her but she is never there.
Today my daughter was very sick, they could get her in (Saturday) but they said they couldn’t verify insurance (my insurance is the same as the last time we were there) because is not business hours so I would have to be SELF PAY.
I’ve been going there for a couple of years and that’s not the 1^st time they want to charge me with that exchange.
Funny thing is that I just got back from another Dr and they were able to verify insurance online!
I AM NEVER GOING BACK!!!
PS: I am sorry Erika but I am not your patient, you cannot say you did everything to accommodate me! You can’t tell my last name, you have no idea who I am… so that non sense response is ridiculous!!! Dr Portugal was my PCP, my plan is PPO, I can choose whoever I want and your staff DID NOT check anything online! I went straight to another doctor, and they were able to see my child and check my insurance online without any problem. Your office staff is horrible and rude!
