These folks make ridiculously good sauces! I tried several sauces at East End Market about a year ago and fell in love. The Purri-Purri sauce is particularly awesome, showcasing bold spices in a thick sauce that could double as a dip. It’s my favorite. I can’t think of any comparable sauce that you could find in a Publix… it’s unique, delicious and evokes the essence of spicy African cuisine. It pairs well with chicken, fish and veggies. The Cranberry Habanero Relish is also very nice. It captures the spirit of Thanksgiving in a jar, but with a spicy kick. It would be great in a turkey sandwich. Be on the lookout for these sauces at specialty food stores around the Central Florida area, like East End Market in Orlando or the Ancient Olive in Winter Park.

Throw away your Tabasco, get rid of that trendy Sriracha and replace it all with Fat Cat gourmet condiments and hot sauces. Fat Cat Gourmet Foods is a small, boutique condiments and hot sauce company based in Orlando. After countless creations and rave reviews from friends this husband-wife team decided to take their recipes public in 2011. Some of their sauces are hot, some are mild — but each features a complex array of natural ingredients and pure flavors that complements a wide range of foods. We recently had a tasting party after Fat Cat delivered a bevy of beautiful sauces. These sauces are unprecedented and incredibly unique and complex. They’re guaranteed to transform your favorite dishes and perk up your taste buds in the best way possible. We were astounded by the complexity of flavor and how the sauces drew out the best qualities in our food. Fat Cat is truly a unique experience for your taste buds and the perfect complement to everything from scrambled eggs to mojitos. All sauces are given a rating from 1 – 10, so you know what you’re getting into before the spiciness arrives to your palate. Fat Cat houses four mild sauces and 4 hot. And yes, hot means HOT, in the most purrfect way possible. Click here for a list of all flavor profiles and serving suggestions. We highly recommend each flavor, but here are a few of our favorites: Mexican-Style Habanero: Tart and fruity, with an immediate punch of habanero, carrot and vinegar, and a satisfying burst of chile pepper heat. The perfect blend of spicy and satisfying, washed over our peanut satay dish to perfection. Not overpowering or replacing the taste of our dish, just an extra boost to our tasty meal! Heat Level: 7 out of 10 Chairman Meow’s Revenge: Strong, savory and VERY spicy(just how we like it) with a base of garlic, cilantro and lime juice and hot scorpion peppers. Wowzer — this stuff is HOT. But add a few dashes to pizza, tacos or grilled vegetables and your taste buds will be forever transformed. How will I ever enjoy scrambled eggs without this sauce? It’s just that good. But it is hot, so get out of the kitchen if you can’t stand the heat. Heat Level: 10+ out of 10 Strawberry Serano: Sweet and salty move over, there’s a better combination — sweet AND spicy. Blended with strawberries and spicy serrano chiles — it’s delicious, exotic and this sweet heat allows all the flavors to shine. I could seriously eat this straight from the bottle, but I’ll restrain myself and add it to ice cream, greek yogurt and cheese. Heat Level: 3 out of 10 The possibilities are endless with Fat Cat sauces, click here for scrumptious recipes and you’ll be sure to impress your husband, wife, dinner party, mom… even yourself with the incredible flavors from Fat Cat. Sauces are sold online or you can find them locally by clicking here. See ya Crysal, Frank’s Hot Sauce and whatever else I find in my pantry, you just can’t compare to Fat Cat.

Fat Cat has earned its 5th star. Now that Fat Cat has better distribution, it is available in Orlando from sources other than mail order. That makes the price point more manageable. More importantly, Fat Cat has added a new flavor — Cat in Heat — that is possibly the best hot sauce I have ever had. The heat is high and smoky, an awesome combination and one that I love. I will purchase it regularly and often!

I’m a big fan of hot sauce, but I can’t say that I ever actively want to go out and actually purchase some. The Fat Cat sauces though have changed my mind and I will be stopping by to get some as soon as I can. I had a chance to try the sauces at the recent Unilocal Tampa community event, and I was blown away. The gentleman providing the samples was extremely friendly, and actually gave me a little walkthrough of all five sauces, going as far as to tell me which sauces go well with what and the different contrasts in flavor they were trying to get with each sauce. My favorite two sauces would have to be the Ghost Chile sauce and the Habanero sauce. The habanero sauce had a great kick to it, but on top of the kick, it had a great sweet taste to it. The ghost chile sauce, despite what you might think from the name, was actually not too hot at all, and you really could taste the smokiness from the ghost chile. I can’t wait to stop by and purchase some for myself, and most likely grab some extras for presents. Fat Cat gets a huge two thumbs up, five star, go out and get it now, review from me

I have never been a hot sauce guy until now. In the review by David M., he mentions Delish New York Bakery. I am the owner of said establishment. I never imagined having hot sauce on my condiments bar until guests began asking for hot sauce for their egg sandwiches. I obliged them with some familiar-looking sauce that I bought at the local grocery store. Then, one day, I was introduced to Fat Cat Gourmet Foods sauces. Never having been a hot sauce user myself, I was very excited about what I was tasting. I wondered if this would be a better option for my customers, since it clearly tasted better. So I purchased a case of assorted sauces — some to place on my condiment bar; some to sell on my retail shelf. The comments from customers came instantly. People were tasting all of the sauces like they were at Tijuana Flats or something, and the compliments kept on coming. So Delish New York Bakery is now one of the proud retailers of Fat Cat Gourmet Foods for as long as Fat Cat exists. On a personal note, I have eaten Fat Cat’s sauces nearly every day since I brought them in. Every once in a while, I have our cinnamon & brown sugar cream cheese, and I have not been brave enough to try a sauce with that. Perhaps I’m just being cowardly. But aside from that, I use the sauce with my eggs(I’m not a guy who ever did that) and I use the sauce with my lunch sandwiches. If you go to Fat Cat’s facebook or twitter page, you’ll find the many posts I’ve written about the many ways I’ve used the sauces. Additionally, if you go to Fat Cat’s website, you’ll see more recipes designed by Fat Cat as well as other sauce eaters. As I said, I’ve never been a hot sauce guy until now. Fat Cat has opened my eyes. Thanks Fat Cat!
