While at a Tasty Tuesdays in the Milk District food truck event, I tried a couple bites of one of their gyros. It was okay, just okay, not great. I’m sorry to say that the meat was tough and I didn’t taste a lot of flavor. I’m hoping to chalk it up to my just getting a bad bite of the meat or something, but I’m glad I wasn’t the one who ordered it. I probably wouldn’t order from them because of this experience and also because there seemed to be other, better choices of food trucks available at Tasty Tuesdays.

Not a huge food truck fan but this one is really good. The veggie platter is delicious and lots of food.

All I had was the pita and hummus, so my review is mainly about that. The hummus was very tasty(after I removed the forsaken pickles from it). I did not love the pita at all. It was pretty cool that they were deep-frying it right there in the truck, but I just didn’t dig them. However, I would definitely try this food truck again.

I was excited to see this food truck at the Maitland Lake Lily Famer’s Market, but the experience turned out to be a huge disappointment. While waiting for my gyros order, I noticed there was not a shawarma spit and the grill was empty and cold. The cook reached in somewhere(fridge?) and took out a bowl of pre-cooked lamb. He turned his back so I couldn’t see if he was reheating it or what. When he handed me the gyro, it was stone cold; the pita bread was soggy; there was barely any tzatziki sauce and the tomatoes were spoiled. I attempted to give them a chance to redeem the situation. Tried to talk to the cook about it, but he could care less. The gyros was inedible and I had to throw it away. What a let down. I left hungry, no food and $ 14 wasted.

Hmmm… I love gyros and there is plenty to love taste-wise about this one: garlicy tzatziki sauce, hot sauce, &well seasoned lamb. Only problem is its hella chewy! I shouldn’t have to do the gator death roll just to rip off a chunk of meat! Where they lack in quality, they make up in quantity.

After a suggestion from some friends, my wife picked up a vegetarian plate from the Fantastic Hummus Food Truck. You get a nice big scoop of hummus, some stuffed grape leaves, falafel, tabouleh and a few pitas. For $ 10, the plate seemed a little small, but not enough to complain about. Everything that they made was excellent, but the pitas came out of a store-bought bag and they were a little bit stale. Enjoyable, but not really great enough to rush back.

Such a tasty surprise! I grabbed a gyro here on Friday night, it was set up at Orlando Brewing and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I am not a huge fan of mayo or sour cream based sauce so I was offered to taste the sauces before they were put on my gyro, score! It normally comes with 2 white sauces and hot sauce. I just got one white sauce which was delicious. You get a few chips with your gyro too and they were delicious! I got the chicken gyro and the salad that was on it was so fresh and homemade, the tomatoes were so good! I need to try more from this truck!

Finally a food truck which serves gyros. The pita was fluffy, soft, and very pliable. There was an abundance of well seasoned meat, cooked to order. Although, the meat was slightly on the tough side as far as street food goes, still very good. The tzatziki sauce was very balanced with sufficient garlic. Cordial service and nice good gyro.
