This is a two-​in one review, both of the lessons and the shop/​instrument rental.
Let me start with the lessons. This location is close to home for me, so really convenience wins out over cost on this one. I know I could get a better deal somewhere else, but it is 5 minutes from my home. I can quickly run to Waterford for a coffee during my son’s lesson or I can go back home. It’s easy.
My son is taking piano lessons with Tim. He thinks Tim is a fantastic instructor. Overall we have been very pleased. My son is learning quickly and really enjoys the lessons. When we have needed to reschedule missed lessons Tim has been good about working with us.
Now, on to the instrument rental. We rented our daughter’s clarinet here when she started middle school band (honestly we chose not to buy one because we never expected her to keep playing it so long). Surprisingly it has worked out great, because we would have ended up paying for a lot of instrument repairs if we had purchased one. First she broke one of the keys on the clarinet. The shop sent it in for repair and gave her a loaner while hers was away. And then this week she dropped it. The mouthpiece cracked. It’s a goner. So last night I ran the clarinet to the shop prepared for the worst, but Phil at the desk was awesome. He had a replacement clarinet on had and quickly called and processed the exchange. I was blown away by how easy that was.
