Conway Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center

My 93 year old grandmother was admitted here for a fractured pelvis recovery. She is supposed to be receiving physical therapy but instead each time I visited her she was doped up on medication, sleeping with her mouth open and just looked like she was going to die at any moment. I mean her mouth would be dry and crusty and it was just beyond sad to see her this way. The nurses had no idea what medication she was receiving. Her doctor was supposed to show up and he never did instead he sent a PA who couldn’t give us any information regarding hr condition because she didn’t have her chart! Why don’t you have her chart? Gimme a break.
We, as a family decided to remove her and take her back to her home at Carmita’s Home Health. As soon as we arrived there she began eating on her own and just made an effort to recover. She was a new woman, she was miserable at Conway and she will never return.

I visited Conway Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center last night with a group of Christmas caroling Girl Scouts. One of the girls in our troop has a relative here, so we decided it would be a nice service activity for them. The girls collected socks and toiletries and made cards for the residents and handed them out as we visited each room.
From my one hour visit I’ll say this is a very clean, very nice looking facility. All of the residents seemed contented and well cared for. They were obviously very happy to have children visiting. The staff was very kind and appreciative of our visit as well. Some of them even joined in the Christmas carols. Most of the residents were elderly folks, a few of them were up and about but most of them were in bed. They have two residents to a room.
Overall, a nice place. Visit them sometime and brighten up someone’s day!
