MYFAVORITETEXMEXRESTAURANT! So very happy/excited I stumbled upon this while Unilocaling for some lunch I haven’t lived in TX since 2013 and I feel as if they are literally everywhere there. So the hostess was great, we were literally the first group to walk in for the day. The décor of the entire restaurant is so cool and funky. Colors everywhere. (Lots of cool tshirts) We were immediately seated and they took our drink order. Unfortunately/fortunately I’m currently pregnant so I couldn’t enjoy a delicious frozen margarita.(Next time) Our group ordered a handful of drinks they all enjoyed– don’t remember which ones! We might’ve had every dip for our chips you can order, all so yummy and so filling– so beware. The ranch one is our favorite. My husband isn’t as risky when he orders so he got basic soft tacos. I had the flautas, there was one too many after all the chips I had devoured. The rice and beans are one of my favorites as well. Our two friends both got huge steak burritos, one of them is also from Texas and said he felt like he was back home. Unfortunately after eating all the chips we weren’t able to finish our meals-)-: And living in jax it wasn’t reasonable to get left overs. We will be back, but PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE consider building one of the lovely restaurants in Jacksonville.

If there is a Chuys near, I go. Never disappointed! Creamy Jap and Chili Rejanos are what I go for but everything is yum!

After deciding that everything at Disney was ridiculously overpriced, we opted to find dinner out of the park. A short search for Mexican food, since that was our mood, turned up this very nice little place that was close by. This is a fun little restaurant with a frivolous ambiance of fake palm trees and silly signs. As you enter the dining area, you can watch a woman making fresh tortillas in a glassed in booth. The waitress had us seated in a very short time, even during the Friday night rush. We started off sharing a blackberry margarita. It’s been so long since I’ve had one of these lovely, refreshing drinks. This one was absolutely delicious. It had the proper amount of sweetness to offset the acidity of the berries and a decent amount of alcohol. We sipped it while we snacked on freshly made tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa was on the thin side, but had good flavor. So that we could try several items, we both ordered the«Elvis Presley Memorial Combo,» which had one Tex-Mex beef enchilda, a cheese ranchero enchilada, a chicken tomatillo enchilada and a seasoned sirloin crispy taco. There was also the ubiquitous sides of rice and beans. We come from CO, where there is good Mexican food around every corner, so we’re picky. We’ve been very disappointed with the lack of it in our area. This was a nice change. Everything was very good, my favorite being the chicken enchilada, which was on a blue corn tortilla and had a drizzle of sour cream over the tomatillo sauce. There was plenty of food to have at least one enchilada to take home. My only issues, and they were pretty minor, were that the chips were on the oily side and there could have been more sauce on the enchiladas. So, instead of paying $ 11 for one small, not very good burrito at the park, we paid $ 11 for a taco, 3 enchiladas, rice and beans. Sounds like a deal to me. This may be our«go to» place for future trips to Orlando.

Awesome food and awesome atmosphere. Here is the hint. Slow down on the endless supply of chips and salsa. You will miss the great flavors of your meal.

Chuys is always a great option for Mexican food. The fresh hot chips with multiple salsa options to start off the meal is a nice complimentary treat. We always ask for hatch green chile, creamy jalapeño, and Ranchero. I can not do the hatch green chile but my spouse swears it is the best. The fajitas are always perfect. We get them with the corn tortillas and chicken and beef, which make for an excellent combo. Also enjoy the deluxe quesadillas are one of my favorites. There is more than enough to make it a meal for me instead of an appetizer. I even end up sharing with my spouse. The waiters and waitresses are always pleasant. We end up chatting a bit. They even have a little bit of a show while you eat. You are able to watch the tortillas being made with care on a large spinning wheel. The atmosphere is definitely busy and eclectic. I often find myself seeing something new and different each time I am there. The one area even has hubcaps hanging from the ceiling. I like the dog picture room. They even tell their patrons they welcome pictures of their dogs to add to the collect. If you are craving some Mexican for lunch or for dinner this place is a great choice!

I love this place; the chips, the salsa, the chili relleno, the handmade tortillas, the boom-boom sauce… all excellent! Also, I’ve been to 3 different locations in Orlando, and they seem to all provide quality service.

The green Chile chicken is to die for! Had the steak burrito and asked for the Chile chicken on the side which they were glad to do for me, food was excellent!

Horrible customer service! Forgot our appetizers, lunch entrees were incorrect. Not even an apology from the waiter. Restaurant manager came over but did nothing to improve service. There are many restaurants in this area with better food and service.

Been to 2 locations but I prefer the one by the airport. I sat at the bar and was treated to Friendly attentive service by the bartenders. The margarita was so yummy I had 2 and I’m a fan of the complimentary taco car during happy hour.

Food is always good. Chips are plentiful. Ask for the creamy jalapeño dip. It’s delicious and spicy. Service is good with most servers. Service is spectacular if you have Patrick. He often has his own wait list on Friday. Food is fairly priced, especially for the huge portions.

Ok… Can I start backwards? It’s what’s freshest in my mind. Their Tres Leche was TODIE! Light fluffy and not too sweet ! Caramel drizzle on top with strawberries which is a fruit so that makes it kinda healthy. I got the Baja tacos — one fish one shrimp I liked the fish better very light and flakey. The shrimp was really good too but the batter was a tad too heavy for my taste. Like another review said JALAPEÑOCREAMSAUCE. just get it mkay? So yummy! Chips and salsa were fresh! Their waiter Jason was so nice ! Attentive, and quick! I’m here for a work trip … Come to find out there is one in Columbus Ohio … God help me(15 mins away) That’s all I got folks

I was shocked envy the quality of food, service, and experience during our recent visit. When we drives without reservation the wait was 30 minutes… and the local hotel shuttle vans keep rolling in and endless line of tourists surrounding the place… I started thinking maybe we are at some tourist trap??? Not a chance, this is a real Mexican restaurant with everything made from scratch, even the chips and salsa. Waitress was great and so the balloon girl, they were patient, funny, and attentive. Food– shrimp tacos were definitely the best amongst all of dishes we ordered(Elvis was probably our second… chikachika boom? Was okay) Location is so closed to all of the airport hotels, and because this is probably the only non-chain restaurant with good price it gets really busy, like bus load of people waiting busy, so either make reservation or prepare to wait at the bar!

Super delicious, good service. Loved the balloon artist, she is SUPERTALENTED! Loved seeing the homemade tortillas being made practically in front of us. Our waitress kept bringing the chips(fresh out of the fryer) big portions and delicious flavors. The atmosphere is loud and very colorful but that’s what makes this place fun. We ordered a fajita combo for two, special nachos, chicka-chicka-boom-boom enchiladas and a relleno and enchilada combo(cheese chile relleno w/jalapeño cream and chicken enchilada with Tex-mex sauce) The fajita for two comes with huge portions of toppings, rice and beans. Plenty for two people, special nachos were super delicious with loads of guacamole(always a bonus) The chicka-chicka-boom-boom enchiladas were spicy but still delicious. Even the rice is different but good. Loved the chile relleno with an over abundance of cheese. The chile had a mild spicy flavor but not overly spicy. Only bummer was the jalapeño cream sauce. Wish there was more than a small drizzle on top. the chicken enchilada was great, loved the Tex-mex sauce. Also wished they served fresh jalapeños rather than pickled. But that didn’t spoil the food or anything. We got there JUST before the dinner rush so we were seated fairly quickly but on our way out the line was out the door!

Sorry Chuy’s. Our most recent experience really put a bad taste in our mouth. Granted, it was a Saturday evening and busy but there were many tables that cleared out after we were seated. We chalk it up to a server that doesn’t know how to prioritize. First up, we were brought chips and salsa. The chips were the basically the broken end pieces that you would see at the bottom of a chip bag with a few large pieces on the top to fool us. Completely unacceptable. Took them quite awhile to even bring glasses of water to us which sucks because that salsa has a kick. Not so much fun eating with nothing to quench your thirst. Our server finally had the sense to come let us know they were frying a new batch of chips and would bring some to us when they were ready. So he brings them out and we’re happy. We run low and then, OFCOURSE, our order of guacamole came out. So we had to keep playing this cat and mouse game of getting his attention for chips. He would acknowledge us then help a neighboring table, then walk past us, then back to a different table. Seriously?! I made a joke that he must’ve been trying to get his fitbit steps because he was walking all over the place but near our table. Anyways we got our chips but at that point our entrees were brought out by a runner. We asked the runner guy for silverware and he nodded like he would bring some to us. He NEVER did. So, again, it was another cat and mouse game of finding our server for utensils before our food got cold(it was lukewarm by the time I took a bite). And, on top of that, my husband’s order was incorrect. He had requested a certain sauce on top of his burrito.(This was all taken with the server’s memory since he didn’t think to write anything down.) The sauce was missing so when he asked our server why, he responded with some excuse that they don’t put the sauce on top because it’s cold. HUHH?! Well, if that was the case, let us know or at least put it on the side! For a $ 50 dinner(with tip– yep we aren’t totally heartless) we feel a bit swindled. Food quality was meh this go around and the lackluster service was just icing on the cake. Hoping this was a one time encounter but I would recommend steering clear on weekends and come on a weeknight when servers don’t have to manage more than 2 tables. Unless you like having to play hide and seek with your server…

I’ve been here a few times and have yet to find something I did not like! My favorite was the Stuffed Avocado(the Monday special!) — it was stuffed with chicken, cilantro, and cheese and then breaded in Panko and fried to perfection. If you don’t like spicy, maybe ask for the queso on the side because it was definitely on the hot side! The chips are thin and crispy, the salsa is spicy yet delicious, but definitely ask for the creamy jalapeño dip. It’s free and is perfect with the chips! I’ve also had the guacamole which was tasty although I do wish it was a bigger size in the appetizer portion! For dessert, I’ve had the sopapillas. They are warm and sweet and come with a carmelly/honey type sauce which make it just right! The atmosphere is fun and the service has always been great. I’ve heard there is a nacho bar for happy hour(I’ve also never had their drinks!) so I definitely want to come back for that!

Wow, great service and atmosphere! It was so nice to sit in a dining area completely separate from the bar with no TV screens to contend with. The food was equally enjoyable. I had a combo platter with a beef taco, cheese enchiladas and chicken flautas. The pulled chicken in the flautas was particularly spectacular, very fresh and juicy. The enchiladas were yummorific as was the taco. The beans and rice sides were pretty standard but decent. Another standout was the tortillas, all of which were outstanding, super fresh and crisp. My darling wife had the chicken enchiladas platter, and her dish was also outstanding. The sauces were great too, and the server brought us samples of all but the spiciest to taste test. This really is s great tex mex place! They even have some very cool Star Wars, and other pop culture sci-fi themed, t-shirts for sale in the lobby. We will definitely be back, next time I have to try the margaritas!

We were recommended Chuy’s by multiple people and were very excited to try it. The restaurant was bright and seemed very happy, and very kid-friendly. The food was less impressive. Their main salsa has no heat at all, and we ordered a taster of all the salsas. Only one was good. I ordered a beef burrito and was hugely let down, there was more cheese than burrito. The food is just okay. There was nothing I would return for. The staff was also not professional or helpful. I asked the waiter if they served horchata, to which he responded, «I’ve honestly never heard of that shit in my life.» Very unprofessional. Later he forgot one of our orders, to which the waiter then said the F word in front of the kids. I was hugely upset. If I’m being 100% honest, the waiter was drugged out of his kind. I was very unimpressed with the language he used in front of kids. Now the only thing that saves this review from being a 1 is the balloon artist! This awesome man named Will came and made some of the coolest balloon outfits for the kids! He did magic tricks and entertained them to no end. He made something for everyone. He was absolutely incredible and also very funny. He was 100% appropriate for the kids but also slipped in some adult humor. I would come back to see his show again. The kids loved him.

Please bathe me in the creamy jalapeño sauce! My word, that stuff is just delicious. I took some to-go, you can too! You’re welcome. The staff was so friendly from the host to our server to the manager who thanked us on the way out. I wasn’t expecting this as it is somewhat of a fast food, quick Mexican dining spot. I highly underestimated this spot. The margaritas were refreshing, the chips were light and crispy and they have an array of delicious sauces. As I already mentioned, the creamy jalapeño sauce is where it’s at. Holy moly. We are serving our veggie tray for Christmas dinner with this as the dip. Ha! Fresh tortillas — they have a tortilla watching station so you can see them being handmade, love that touch. I enjoyed the stacked enchiladas with blue corn tortilla and it was great. Highly recommend checking this place our for your next Mexican meal or HH spot. Can’t believe I waited this long.

I have been hearing all about how amazing Chuy’s is from a friend of mine that moved to Florida from Texas. I finally went last Sunday. I had a craving for Tex Mex and a frozen margarita to help recover from the previous night of a few too many libations. Hair of the dog! I went with my husband and we sat at the bar. There weren’t many people there that Sunday afternoon and we found a spot easily. I ordered a frozen lime margarita. They also had a strawberry and a(seasonal) blackberry option for frozen margaritas. I really loved the frozen lime margarita. It was refreshing and not too sweet. The service at the bar was attentive and we were given free chips and house salsa to munch on while we enjoyed our drinks. The salsa has a little bit of a kick which I really enjoyed. For my meal I decided to go with the #1 combination platter which has a little of everything. The combo had 2 cheese enchiladas, 1 ground beef taco, 2 tortillas dipped in queso, a dollop of guacamole, 2 chicken taquitos, Mexican rice and refried beans. My husband ordered the Sunday enchilada with carne guisada platter special. We also got a side of the creamy jalapeño which is yummy! Chuy’s offers your basic Tex Mex fare at standard prices. My platter was about $ 11, my husband’s was about $ 9 and the margaritas were $ 7(the other flavors are $ 1 more). I look forward to going back during happy hour(Monday to Friday only) for more of those delicious frozen margaritas(at only $ 5) and to check out the free fully loaded nacho car!

Wow! You know that they say first impressions are the most important. Well my first visit left a lasting impression so much so that I want to go back now!!! I met up with some of my friends for dinner and the place was pretty much packed. We were seated inside but they have a very nice outdoor area for dining. Inside is pretty much a pop of color. Your senses will be awakened. Definitely a great place to come with a group of fun people. They have this awesome complimentary Fully Loaded Nacho Car bar where you can make your own nachos during happy hour. The bar literally looks like the back of an old Cadillac. You have to try the queso dip and mix it with a little ground beef. Yum!!! Happy hour runs Monday thru Friday from 4pm to 7pm. They also have drink specials during this time. Our waitress was awesome. She gave great food suggestions and explained that everything is homemade. Even the desserts! I decided to try their seasonal blackberry margarita and chose to get it rimmed with both salt and sugar. Wow! I wish that it wasn’t seasonal because it was one tasty margarita. They offer a daily special 7 days a week. For dinner I decided to try the daily special which was the Green Chile Pork Tamales. I’m a huge fan of tamales but most places don’t make them the authentic way but Chuys has it down. It comes with refried beans and green chile rice. You can opt to have either the Hatch Green Chile or Red Chile sauce on your tamales. I opted for both sauces on the side because I wanted to taste the tamales in their natural state. Either way you choose theses are some good tamales. The green hatch chile is spicy but has a wonderful flavor. The red chile sauce is more of your traditional sauce and it’s very good too. The portion sizes are pretty big so you most likely will be taking some home with you. Although I was stuffed I had to have dessert. Tres Leches is my absolute favorite dessert and most restaurants cannot re-create what I’m used to. Someone should have told me that I should have started off with dessert!!! Hands down this dessert is a true party in your mouth! Oh my! I can’t even describe my reaction after I took my first bite. Our waitress said that it was enough to share by my advice is DON’T SHARE! Lol! You’ll be sad to share all of this goodness. The cake had a perfect vanilla flavor and wasn’t drenched in the 3 milks. I think that their use of crème fresh is why this is so good. Ok I hope this review has you running to Chuys because I’m already planning my next visit!
