I went to the saloon for a haircut solely because I had a groupon for it and I will never be going back. The women who cut my hair spent 15 minutes cutting it and 45 minutes talking about her personal life. I don’t care how much your rent is, I just want my haircut. She would pause every time she talked, so much so that I didn’t want to respond to her because she wasn’t getting anything done. When she did finish cutting my hair I asked her if she could cut it a bit shorter because it was still a little longer than I wanted. She said she didn’t want to do that because it would flip and I wouldn’t want that. I ended up going somewhere else to finish getting it cut because it was not the haircut I wanted. I dont think it was worth the $ 25 groupon let alone the $ 50 it originally was.

In July 2013 I went here to get my hair colored & trimmed. My stylist was George Cloud. He was so disrespectful to me. It took him 4 hrs to color my hair(single process). He fell asleep right next to me when he put me under the dryer. He said«for the money I pay for my chair I can do whatever I want.» When I asked him questions he came back with insulting & person questions. When he asked how much I wanted trimmed he didn’t like my response & said«that is highly unlikely.» This is one of the reasons I hate going to hair salons. I will never go back here.

Bought a GrouponNOW for a pedicure & shellac manicure with Kim. So glad I did. The place is great, Kim was fabulous, & I got a great deal! I will definitely be returning in a few weeks when my manicure has finally died.

I had a great experience with my mani/pedi with Kim. She was wonderful and I plan to go back to her. I was less impressed with other aspects of the salon. The«spa» is a small massage room right next to the nail salon. The hair salon seemed rushed and I didn’t see anyone whose hair was really«wow» when they were leaving. The mani/pedi my friend got(we went together on a Groupon) was not as nice as the one I got from Kim. So I think your experience at Blades all depends on whose chair you are in. That having been said, I REALLY liked Kim. I especially like that she does acrylics WITHOUT A DRILL! No more sore nails from some idiot with a dremel tool drilling into your nail bed. And the Shellac manicure I got yesterday is GORGEOUS. I am going back in two weeks for acrylics.

Great manicure/pedicure with KIM. I knew as soon as she put her hands on mine that she had a lot of experience! She’s been doing nails for a long time and does a great job with Shellac nails. The nail area is cozy, and has the nice massage pedicure chairs so you can relax and enjoy. Off street parking in lot, or on street parking across the road. Easy! I’m a groupon customer turned regular, for Kim’s nails @ Blades!

I was really excited when I saw this fantastic massage deal on Groupon for an hour long massage with Blades Salon & Day Spa. However, I have mixed feelings about the entire experience. I’ll first start off with the environment. Blades is in a cute area of town and I didn’t have a hard time finding parking. The salon/spa is nice, clean, and pretty small. My masseuse, Ernest, led me back to the massage room — which was like any average room for massages. However, one thing I didn’t enjoy was that it wasn’t serene. INSIDE the room was serene, but right outside the door was the nail part of the salon and apparently the walls were paper thin because you could hear EVERYTHING through the door. Right when I thought I had blocked it all out, their conversations outside the door kept creeping in. As for the massage, I would say it was okay. I didn’t have any specific areas that I wanted more focus on but when I left I was more tense and not relaxed at all. I don’t know if that had to do with the environment or his actual techniques but I didn’t leave feeling as I had hoped I would feel after a massage. I also have to add that the next day, Ernest personally friended me on Facebook which I thought was really strange and unprofessional. I didn’t fill out anything with a «contact me on Facebook,» his page wasn’t like a «professional masseuse,» page, and it honestly left me feeling quite uncomfortable.(And if it was professional, attach a MESSAGE or something — don’t just randomly friend request.) Also, I’m not anti social media at ALL either. With everything combined, I probably wouldn’t go back to Blades for a massage again — maybe to get my nails done but that’s about it.

The cut was mediocre, the salon looked like it was stuck in the 90s, and the«hair stylist» I had seemed to be stuck in the 90s as well. I do not recommend this salon and I do not think it deserves any stars.
